View Full Version : Moore, OK Tornado
Just absolutely insane amount of damage and an apparent direct hit on an elementary school. Reports tornado was 1 mile wide and had 200+ mph winds.
37 confirmed dead and only going to rise.

:fdown: a mile wide
NOT even finished with the search/rescue/recovery effort, but Sheldon Whitehouse, D (RI) blames Moore, Oklahoma on Republicans.

I thought it was confirmed the tornado was 2 miles wide?
I still hear that at times on updates.
In any case, my heart breaks for those in the path of this storm. May God be with them and help them to a speedy recovery.

Up to 51 dead and the toll will rise. My heart goes out to the people in Moore.
The devastation was brutal.

Terrible news. Never good hearing these kinds of things, even worse when children are among the victims.

My childhood home was at 1313 South Howard in Moore, OK. I haven't lived there in a long time but its still very surreal to think it was a couple of miles from where I grew up. Throw in the fact that kids are involved and just makes it 10 times worse.
Typed by thumbs.

That video has nothing to do with today. It's some stupid fucktard taking Fox News video of tornadoes in Kansas on May 18th and deliberately mislabeling the video to make it look like it's video from today's tornado in Oklahoma.

91 confirmed dead now more likely found later. A ton of photos of devastation:

The death toll has been revised all the way down to 24. Supposedly some people had been counted twice, but not sure how you go from 51 and then 91 all the way down to 24, even counting people twice.

Yeah I just saw that. Good news but another example of the media reporting way off information.

I agree that now is not the time for it, but I will give Coburn credit for sticking to his views of any federal aid for disasters needing to be offset with cuts elsewhere. I figured while he said that with the Sandy aid bills, that would suddenly no longer matter now that it was his own state, but he still supports that position.
Facing questions on his position about federal disaster aid Tuesday, Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma confirmed he would want to offset any relief money with cuts to other parts of the budget but quickly added now was not the time do be discussing such matters.
