We'll have to be careful in regards to pictures. They showed a lot of ranked teams in the preview video they released the other day, but a lot of those games/teams/rankings shown were from different parts of the season, simulated multiple weeks in.

This is true, but I assume the screens I posted are from the play now screen, due to TCU being the away team in every one.

Yeah, I those you posted are good. I know I was looking through the screens in that video and seeing all these ranked teams, but then realized it was from like week 9 in a dynasty, I quickly erased all I was typing since they were no longer accurate rankings. So we'll just have to make sure over the next few months what the rankings are coming from, be it Play Now or in a dynasty, as any screenshots of in-dynasty rankings may be incorrect.

We could post those rankings you found as well if you think they might be somewhat accurate. I have "Team(s)" listed in the category so we can post schools in more than one spot if necessary as more images/screens become available.

On top of that, ranking the teams is one of the very final things to be done. Data freeze is typically in April.

seriously guys, whats the point ? My speculation is that it will mirror all the preview issues coming out as always LOL

in video game world it might be more interesting to speculate how overrated/underrated a team is in overall team player ratings compared to its real life team ranking.

Like, you say,..Florida State might be a # seven in game but the way the players are rated and how the AI works on the field it could well be an interchangeable #1 team. Like Oregon n LSU n Alabama etc.

in this video game, you know no matter what real ranking FSU has,their video game counterpart will always be potent. Thanks to in house fan bias ;). I'm sure the same goes for Auburn and a few other schools. where a teams overall avg speed or strength or awareness is upped just a teensy bit to alter the landscape :whistle:

...that made me just wonder...the letter grade ratings are cute and all but is there a reason we don't get to see the actual number ratings for over all and team offense etc ? has anyone ( a internet dweeb) averaged out the data to see actual ratings numbers ?

theres those times when you see 2 teams have a B in something you still figure one teams B rating is stronger because of what you know about the team by name or reputation or overall history or whatever.

lets say FSU has a down year and defense is a C+. You know that C+ is still going to be stronger than NIU's C+ defense because every player on FSU will still be higher rated on average in one or another category regardless of anyone that works at EA who might be a fan ;)

I don't think one can disagree that EA has a "track record" or "history" or "tendency" etc... to rate/grade :Florida_State: well above where it should be given its past results and expected season by other college football analysts / "experts".
