Interesting. Japan Studio did the Ape Escape games back in the day.

It's probably going to be awful gameplay wise (basically looks like just another Crash Bandicoot like game - which are all meh, IMO), but it looks like the game takes full advantage of the PS4's ability to have physics affecting thousands of polygons at once (like pretty much all PC's have been able to do for ~10 years) which is GREAT from a game developer standpoint. If nothing else, game developers have no reason not to take advantage of that stuff now when they port their games to the PC. ;)

This game looks like it will be a lot of fun.
Knack story mode = 10 hours long + time to locate all the secret spots for trophies.

Just another reason to pick this game up. Has it bee confirmed if this is a launch day title?

I'm 99% sure this is a launch day 1 title.

You and I might be the only people into this title but I'm getting it day 1. Looks fun and sharp graphically and it will be a game my nephew can play when he visits from time to time.

Yeah I'm surprised more people aren't into it. The game looks fun. My oldest son keeps asking me when that "robot game" is for sale. I will probably make this my first game.

Nice find! Normally this would not be my type of game... but... it just looks fun... like how video games were when I was a kid (Atari, Coleco, and Nintendo).

See this isn't my type of game but honestly it looks fun to the point that it may well be my first game.

Okay so they say you've played a game like Knack before and they praise the game, but call Killzone cliched :D

Haven't read either review but I sort of get their point. How many FPS are there and how many years in a row can you honestly justify forking out $60 for the same thing?
On the other hand the "Cartoon Platformer" (as I like to call them) is an "old school" genre that goes way back but seems to have fallen out of favor in lieu of slapping prostitutes, cutting peoples heads off and of course the FPS.
Checked out Metacritic briefly and looks like farily poor reviews although the one 30 sure sticks out like a sore thumb. Maybe I'll be disappointed with my purchase but it just looks like a fun platformer to me. Time will tell.

Yep I'm probably the ONLY TGTer here who bought it but it looks decent enough and I got 3 PS4 games for 30 bucks so I cannot really complain.

I bought it too.
Played the 1st 2 chapters tonight as my 1st PS4 experience. Gotta say I am happy with the game. Its a pretty game and lots of just old school gaming fun. The story thus far isn't that deep/compelling but the gameplay is tight.
Right now I'd score it a 7 out of 10. It's not open world and its not overly violent/blood and gore just a solid cartoon platform type game.

It looks like one of those games where if you enjoyed playing the Crash Bandicoot games, you'll like it, which I'm perfectly fine with. Games need to bring that genre of game back instead of just shooter after shooter after shooter.

Still want to pick it up but watching all the twitch feeds has given away most of the story.

The story is ok, but the scenes seem a bit long. JMO, YMMV.
Am I alone in thinking this kind of game doesn't need a lot of story telling?

I like the cut scenes personally. It helps develop the story and it shows off more graphical power. To me its like watching a Pixar movie.

My kids love watching twitch feeds of it...
Finished this bad boy up 1st play through. I really enjoyed it. If you are into cartoon/mascot platformers you should give this one a try. Brought back memories from all those great games of the past that I enjoyed playing throughout the years.
Its not GOTY material but I'd rate it a solid 7/10. Going to try to go for the :plat: after the holiday.

I'll probably get it when it drops to $20 on Gamefly.

That sounds about right. Really fun game. I'm glad this was part of that Amazon promotion, otherwise I would have missed Knack for sure.
Played this bad boy again this past weekend and nearly completed my 2nd play through. The game is allot deeper than I recalled and is pretty challenging for me even on normal. I'm not going to trade this one in and I can see me popping this bad boy in for years to come when I get an itch.

No I didn't but I am still planning on it at some point. However, it's still a little to advanced for my oldest so I am going to hold off. The kids love lego games because they are so easy to play. Knack would be too challenging for them right now.

Yeah Knack isn't a game for young ones even on Easy difficulty.

Really. I thought it was more of a family game.

The story is family friendly but the gameplay is somewhat complex/difficult. I know when I went home last year several 10 year olds tried to play it and got lost. Maybe its because they do not play a ton of video games but they ended up just wanting to watch me play the game.
