Bama has added two guys to the 2017 class so far:

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Powers-17_zps8d0fc247.png
Powers comes in with great strength and with his size(6'6") may be a candidate to move to the Tackle position depending on how the rest of the class shakes out.

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Stegall-17_zps1560712d.png
Stegall comes in to add more depth to the WR position and will redshirt next season.

Terry will redshirt and try to work on his block shedding and coverage skills.

Bama adds a couple more:

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Butler-17.png
Butler comes in to help solidify the offensive line for the next 5 seasons. He has great upper body strength and is a mauler of a run blocker.

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Hart-17.png

Hart will look to play HB and may end up being the second coming to Dustin Bell. Hart has incredible athletic ability to go along with superb running back skills.

Yeah, Florida has been good to me this season for OL! ;)Florida's good for every position every year. :D Not like it really matters where a player is from (since pipelines are a joke).

But meh anyway. I got a better player coming my way anyway. He just would have been a nice addition as well.

:LSU: adds 3 very nice building blocks for the recruiting season....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v160/daddy2002/RBLorenzoHills_zpsfa8a0817.png

Coach Shirlee finds adds another talented RB to the Tiger crop. Hills can score from anywhere on the field and chose LSU due to the dominant offensive line.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v160/daddy2002/OLBRobertCrowder_zpsd81195b8.png

What a beast Crowder is....once scouted at 100%....Coach Shirlee moved Robert to #1 on his board. Shirlee wants Crowder at MLB....but it will depend on how the numbers flow. Wherever Crowder plays....he should definitely make an impact.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v160/daddy2002/SSDanPleasant_zps476698e2.png

Coach Shirlee loves Pleasant's size and ability to tackle in the open field. Coach has fallen in love with the run-stuffing strong safeties....but Dan adds a little athleticism to help with the passing game along with his height.

JeffHCross
02-02-2013, 07:33 PM
It took you that long? Crowder was number one on my board in the preseason. What a fuck up on my part.

Bama adds 3 more good ones this week:

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Cooper-17.png

Cooper comes in with all the tools the coaching staff love in their safeties. He is big and athletic and he has good coverage skills for a player his size. The only knock on Cooper is his ability to get off of blockers as his block shedding is only a 32. :(

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Graham-17.png

Graham is interesting because he is much shorter than any other DB that the coaching staff has brought in. The coaches feel that his lockdown coverage skills to go along with his superior athleticism will help negate the size limitations he has.

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Newby-17.png

Newby was a prospect that Coach Davis absolutely fell in love with. He has great size as well as the best first step in this class. He can also put his hand on the ground and get after the passer with his above average pass rush skills. And when he gets to the ball carrier, he can lay the wood and knock the ball free as well.

Papa LoneStar

:LSU: adds 5 more....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v160/daddy2002/OLBDanielJenkins_zps5096b45e.png

The Tigers add another stud OLB in the class. The addition of Daniel allows Coach Shirlee to have a serious option of moving Robert Crowder to MLB to start his career. Jenkins is the perfect 3-4 OLB with his ability to get after the passer and cover TEs in one on one coverage.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v160/daddy2002/ATHDouglasCox_zpse2b1390b.png

The Tigers add their version of Tebow to Baton Rouge. LSU has the luxury of redshirting and developing Cox for about 3 years while his passing game gets improved. He will give the Tigers another option of the the backfield in 3rd and short situations with his superb carrying and power running ability.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v160/daddy2002/SSBryceHarvey_zps01c7f7a7.png

Coach Shirlee loves Harvey's explosiveness at the strong safety position. Bryce will need to work on his coverage skills, but Shirlee loves his potential.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v160/daddy2002/TJavanHodges_zpsf5b1f9a2.png

Another quality offensive lineman to LSU. Hodges has the versatility to play all 5 positions. Coach Shirlee will start him off at LT.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v160/daddy2002/ATHStevePickens_zps96fdb536.png

Coach Shirlee loves Pickens size....whether he lines up at corner or receiver....it will depend on how the #s flow....but Shirlee is leaning towards CB.

No worries, figured we'd trade MLB's :)

Oregon lands a handful of recruits since the last update.

http://i597.photobucket.com/albums/tt52/psusnoop/rsz_john_pearson_zpsfc3893a0.png

John comes into Eugene and will provide a little depth and stability at the HB position. He will Redshirt to try and work on his explosiveness this year.

http://i597.photobucket.com/albums/tt52/psusnoop/rsz_joe_brooks_zps36a9a59b.png

Joe Brooks, coach psusnoop questioned Joe's heart and stamina a little but Joe is coming off an ACL tear and this staff has complete confidence after a redshirt that Joe will be ready to compete for playing time at the 2 deep.

http://i597.photobucket.com/albums/tt52/psusnoop/rsz_justin_clifford_zps3ae99cbc.png

This was a position that was needed, with the staff running a few formations with a lead blocker the staff wanted to target a FB that not only could block but also be a threat in the passing game too. Clifford has that little chip on his shoulder and the staff loves the intensity he plays with each and every play.

http://i597.photobucket.com/albums/tt52/psusnoop/rsz_rufus_williams_zpsf5493688.png

Rufus comes to Eugene and would greatly benefit from redshirting but the staff has left the TE position a little then and Rufus will compete for playing time early next season. He has amazing hands and good speed to be a threat in the passing attack, but really could use a year to work on his blocking technique.

http://i597.photobucket.com/albums/tt52/psusnoop/rsz_micah_wilson_zps17c044f2.png

The staff has secretly been marking the calendar for when Crosby is gone :D

http://i597.photobucket.com/albums/tt52/psusnoop/rsz_tyler_sullivan_zps2a044fe4.png

The staff is really excited for this Sullivan kid. At camps he was just impressive with his coverage and lock down skills at Cornerback. The staff said this kid reminds them of one they saw about 10 years ago at a Pitt camp (Darrelle Revis).

Harper doesn't quite have the speed that Michigan would like for their Linebackers but he does come in with good overall skills. He'll almost certainly redshirt his first year on campus to allow him to grow.

TE
WR
Campbell steps onto campus with excellent receiving skills for a big body player that he is. Added he has good speed which could allow him to split out wide and has the skills to bully and run-over smaller DBs. Expect him to contribute significantly as a true Freshman.

CB
Moss comes to Ann Arbor with excellent size for a CB and great speed, agility and acceleration. He'll need a year or two to be able to live on his own island but he'll have that opportunity with upperclassmen ahead of him.

HB
WR
Bradley has the body of a bowling ball and the ability to run through defenders like they're the pins. Add in his speed, strength and his catching ability and Bradley can line up all over the field. Expect him to be a HB once he steps on campus and develop for a couple of years before he sees very much real playing time.

Yeah... I'm actually wondering with his size & strength if he might not actually be a FB. He'll still probably become an HB either way but it could be interesting to have him as an option at FB in a year or two if I recruit better/different HBs.

Rico I wish was fully scouted but what I can see thus far I like it. Very good coverage skills and solid everywhere else. Rico will get a chance to RedShirt next season in Eugene to continue to work on his game.

A few of Texas' recruits:

http://i.imgur.com/YT1mNzW.png

Andrew has the size and ability to come in and be an instant starter, however in an effort to build depth the Texas staff may look to redshirt.

http://i.imgur.com/xe1mkoQ.png

Chad will redshirt and look to take over kicking duties in the 2019 season.

http://i.imgur.com/992zsI6.png

Josh will make the move to outside linebacker while redshirting next season, depending on his progression he will either backup at Sam or Buck if he can improve his pass rushing skills.

http://i.imgur.com/CbKO6UV.png

With the current talent already on campus, Marcus may make a move inside, he will redshirt next season as all linemen do at Texas.

http://i.imgur.com/VYI35QW.png

Maurice is the type of Nose Tackle the Texas staff has been looking for but has been unable to land. He'll likely redshirt next season due to other players ahead of him but will look to be a mountain in the middle shortly.

http://i.imgur.com/T4k1PQB.png

Mike continues the trend of big, fast and strong defensive ends Texas has been stockpiling, look for him to redshirt then contribute to the rotation of players at the position.

Bama adds a few more to this class:

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Jones-17.png

Jones is another player who could be an absolute stud if not for ratings quirks for Athletes. He has all the tools you look for in a LB until you see the 50 block shedding. Coach Davis will try Jones out at Lb and see if he can work on getting off of blocks enough to get into the lineup at some point and time in his career.

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Hughes-17.png
Hughes looks to be just an all around good wideout. He will redshirt and look to contribute in a few seasons.

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Greenwood-17.png
Greenwood is the halfback version of Hughes. None of his stats jump out at you but he really does not have a weakness. He will redshirt next season and see how he does the following year in camp.

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac286/ryby6969/Wright-17.png
Coach Davis feels like he has found his strong safety of the future in Wright. Miller will have one more season of eligibility after this season, so Wright will redshirt and look to step into the starting role his RSFr year. Coach Davis loves his size and athleticism and believes he will step in and the defense will not miss a beat.

WR
TE
FB
Underwood comes to campus with a wide variety of skills. He has the hands of a receiver but the size & strength to be able to compete for a TE or FB position. Once the rest of the roster fills out then the Michigan coaches will figure out where he fits in.

http://i.imgur.com/nmPPzie.png
LT
Martin comes from a high school where the coaches called literally zero running plays. As a result, there is no game film to find out how well he can run block. That said, he has excellent size and strength that no matter his abilities, he'll be able to find a role with the team. Expect him to redshirt his first year on campus.

http://i.imgur.com/o3flofB.png
SS2
CB
While Watson likely won't start as a true freshman, he joins the team with almost perfect timing as four-year starter Dominique Wilson will finish up his career this season at the coverage SS. Similar to Wilson, Watson has great speed, good tackling, and good coverage abilities. Surprisingly, Watson flew under the radar of scouts and recruiting services but the Wolverines spotted his talent early on. Expect him to redshirt his first year but don't be surprised if he's a starter in year two.

http://i.imgur.com/fop6G3s.png
QB
CB
Robinson is just the type of athletic QB that the Wolverines look for. With very good speed, agility, acceleration and moves to go along with his accurate arm, he'll be set to compete for the starting job in the near future. Expect him to redshirt his first year while Senior Michael Coleman runs the show but in year two he'll be primed to compete for the starting job.

http://i.imgur.com/7Id8V6i.png
ROLB
Marshall is an LB with nearly the whole package. While he likely won't be covering WRs anytime soon, he has every other facet of the game at his disposal. With a bevy of LBs returning ahead of him, expect Marshall to redshirt his first year but he'll be primed to contribute after that.

Time to meet the Seminoles' Class of 2018:
Noles247 - Outside Linebacker Will McBride was the first to commit to the Florida State Class of 2018. McBride impressed the FSU coaches in summer camps across Florida, despite scouts delivering lackluster marks in several areas. McBride is thought to be a candidate to move down to a defensive end position and provide a pass rush presence for the Seminoles. McBride will redshirt in 2018 to become accustomed to the DE position.
Other Offers: None
http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2017_Will_McBride_zps3d6063da.jpg

Noles247 - Tackle Carl Richardson received an offer from Florida State today, and sources tell Noles247 that Richardson immediately committed to the Seminoles coaching staff. Richardson is thought to be an offensive lineman with upside, as his ESPN 150 ranking suggests. He also has a reputation as a bulldozer, and is expected to slide into the right tackle position that is a foundation of the Seminole rushing attack. Richardson will probably redshirt in 2018.
Other Offers: Auburn, UConn
http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2017_Carl_Richardson_zpsed5bf194.jpg

Noles247 - Tight End Jorge Martin has verbally committed to the Seminoles Class of 2018. Martin brings impressive blocking skills to complement the Seminoles rushing attack. With Vincent Butler graduating this season, Martin may be pressed into service immediately. His agility is lacking, but Seminole coaches hope that won't impact his performance on the field.
Other Offers: None
http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2017_Jorge_Martin_zps4618c762.jpg

Noles247 - Stephen Walker makes #4. Walker is a pancake machine out of Tennessee, and he'll be bringing his impressive skills to Tallahassee. Seminole coaches were also pleasantly surprised by Walker's even skills at both pass and run blocking. Walker is expected to redshirt in 2018.
Other Offers: Arkansas State
http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2017_Stephen_Walker_zps40955168.jpg

Noles247 - Three-star Will Ryan has verballed to Florida State. Ryan is thought to be underrated by the scouts this year, though Florida State did have to fight off Auburn to secure his commitment. Ryan's above-average strength for a DE, along with below-average agility, has many experts thinking that Ryan could benefit from a move to defensive tackle and a redshirt year.
Other Offers: Auburn
http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2017_Will_Ryan_zps1f23a155.jpg

Noles247 - One of the top stars in Georgia, guard Carl Thomas, has joined the Seminoles after a verbal commitment today. Thomas, a four-star recruit from North Atlanta, impressed at every summer camp this year with considerable technique in both pass blocking and run blocking. In fact, Thomas is thought to be one of the best in this year's class at either skill, let alone both. Thomas's commitment will help ease the sting of losing Antoine Butler to Alabama earlier this season. Thomas should be able to redshirt in 2018. Thomas's pass blocking skills make him a perfect candidate to play left tackle after his redshirt year.
Other Offers: UConn, Purdue
http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2017_Carl_Thomas_zpsfa93b821.jpg

Noles247 - The number one cornerback in the Class of 2018 verballed to the Seminoles today. Tony Goodman, out of Hueytown, AL, the same hometown as NASCAR stars Bobby, Donnie, Davey, and Clifford Allison and Neil Bonnett, will become yet another star defensive back to join the Seminoles in the last three seasons. While Goodman's ball skills and top speed are among the top of the class, his shuttle drills leave a lot to be desired, according to scouts' reports. Seminole coaches are reportedly planning on moving Goodman to Strong Safety, in their 4-2-5 defense, to play across from emerging star Kyle Morales, also a former cornerback. With the move, Goodman will redshirt 2018.
Other Offers: Auburn, Texas A&M
http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2017_Tony_Goodman_zps89459a7d.jpg

Noles247 - Earl Taylor became the eighth to verbally commit to Florida State today, surprising many by choosing to venture from Utah to Florida. Taylor brings solid speed to the defensive end position, and should prove adept at getting off blocks and wrapping-up on tackles. Like most of the class of 2018, Taylor should be able to redshirt.
Other Offers: Penn State
http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2017_Earl_Taylor_zps2851d031.jpg

Noles247 - Nelson makes nine! Jeremiah Nelson is another two-way high school star, ready to join home-state Florida State. Nelson plays both quarterback and cornerback at Riviera Beach High. Nelson is adept at both man and zone coverage, and can even roll up into press coverage when the situation calls for it. He has also impressed scouts with both his arm strength and touch when throwing the ball. Like most quarterbacks that can also play defense, Nelson would be a gifted dual threat at quarterback. If the rumors about QB Matthew Parker transferring away from Florida State are true, expect Nelson to challenge Hunter Simon for the starting job at quarterback. Otherwise, expect Nelson to take his place at cornerback and learn from those in front of him for a year.
Other Offers: Kentucky (LSU pursued by did not offer)
http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2017_Jeremiah_Nelson_zps852f2a90.jpg

Noles247 - Another #1 position player leaves his home state to come to Tallahassee! Free Safety Chris Williams, hailing from Missouri, has become the latest player to verbal to the Seminoles. Williams' speed has blown away scouts at every camp and game this year. He has also impressed many with his ability to tackle, certainly among the best of his peers, yet he still maintains a decent ability in coverage. Williams may be the only 2018 recruit to avoid a redshirt, given the Seminoles lack of skill at free safety this year.
Other Offers: Notre Dame, Texas A&M

Noles247 - Isaac Riley becomes the third defensive lineman to join the Seminoles class of 2018. Riley's brute strength makes him a natural at defensive tackle, and scouts have been extremely complimentary of his ability tackle. With a lot of senior depth at defensive tackle, Riley should take a redshirt year and be part of the rotation in 2019.

Noles247 - Joshua Lundy adds another versatile athlete to the Seminoles haul for 2018. Lundy is expected to join the Seminoles at wide receiver, though he will need to work on his ability to make the catch with defenders around. Lundy should be at outside receiver in the Seminoles system, so the coaches may be able to keep him away from traffic until he grows into it. He should redshirt for 2018.

Noles247 - Campbell is Mmm-Mmm Good. Will Campbell was a late addition to this year's recruiting class, as the coaches didn't even contact him until Week 7. But just three weeks later, Campbell gave a verbal commitment to Coach HCross. Campbell drew attention most for his ability break tackles, particularly to slide through a defender's arms. Campbell also possesses decent ability to hold onto the ball after contact, something many of his high school peers lack. He is not the speed-first type that has populated the Seminole backfield the past few seasons, but his dependability may trump his lack of pop. Campbell is expected to redshirt in 2018.
Other Offers: Marshall (interest from Texas)

Noles247 - Michael Fisher becomes the fourth, and final, offensive lineman in the Seminoles' class of 2018, committing to the Seminoles over the home-state Wolverines. Another late addition to the Seminoles recruiting class, Fisher will slide into the depth chart at center, lacking the top-end speed or acceleration to play any other position on the Seminoles line. Fisher should challenge for the starting center position in 2019, after redshirting for 2018.
Other Offers: Arkansas State, Iowa State, Marshall (interest from Michigan)

Noles247 - Rick Brown, a wide receiver out of New Jersey, announced a verbal commitment today to Florida State. Brown's height led a lot of scouts to rave about his potential, but he comes to Tallahassee extremely raw and green. His receiving abilities are well-rounded, though lacking in actual skill at the moment. He will redshirt 2018, and hopefully become an endzone receiving threat in the future.

Noles247 - James Brantley adds to the Louisiana pipeline, verbally committing to play for the Seminoles in 2018. A shorter, slot receiver, Brantley, like Rick Brown, has well-rounded receiving skills with decent upside. He does not come in with any skills at BCS-championship level though, and will need a year or two to grow. He will redshirt for 2018.

Noles247 - JUCO Matthew Jansen becomes the final member of the Seminoles' class of 2018. Jansen is a highly sought after JUCO recruit, and will give the Seminoles a transition at defensive end, after three seniors depart next season.

Michigan got a nice surprise when players reported for fall camp with James McLaughlin walking onto campus. He's not the typical player that Michigan seeks to be the signal caller but with the greatly increased focus on the passing game, McLaughlin quickly caught the attention of the coaches. He'll redshirt his first year but after that, considering likely no one will be able to compete with his arm, he'll have a solid shot of at least getting significant reps.
