Catholics dont believe in Karma. I could care less what the score will be. Bama is favored by 8 to 10 points and I of course simply expect them to win.

Bama's loss to TAMU was actually a good thing for them To focus and ND is pretty much like LSU was last year with no true QB. I made the mistake last year of buying the hype and picking LSU. Not this year.

Bama knows this road and ND is a team that has no clue whats coming and didnt really look that strong against teams like Pitt and Oklahoma and BYU.

Georgia was probably a better match up then ND will be ?

Don't believe in karma here cuz I want both teams to lose :D

I'm not Catholic.

ND didn't "look that strong" beating Oklahoma, in Norman, 30-13? OK.

Bama looked VERY strong against that fierce OOC schedule, I'll give you that. ;)

That's your opinion. Everyone has one.

I don't care how strong they look, I just want to see them win. So far, they're 12 for 12 with 10 wins against bowl eligible teams. We'll see what happens tonight.

Either way, I'm good with it. I expected no better than 8-4 this year. To get 12-0 has made this year one of the most enjoyable of my life (with '88 ND and '86 PSU). I'll root for the best, but win or lose my life won't change and I'll still be proud of the season they put together.

did someone make a joke like this that he is just piggy backing on ? the 30 national championships in one night line i'm talking about...that whole elephant stampede is a bizarre find to work into that whole thing LOL... I think some of his best work was when the Saints were getting close to and then winning the Super Bowl

Alabama because I was the assistant athletic trainer at Dutchtown High when Eddie Lacy was there (LSU's Eric Reid was also there also. His baby momma was a student athletic trainer).

Alabama playing with swagger right out of the gate. Unless Notre Dame finds an answer on this next drive, this game could turn ugly very early.

:smh:

Supposedly, rumor is that Saban's gonna be announced as head coach of the Browns tomorrow (waiting until after tonight's game).

Total crock of shit in my opinion. Why the hell would Saban want to leave Alabama? He's head coach of a perennial national championship contender. He makes $5 million a year, more than he'd make at Cleveland. With how great he as done at Alabama, he has job security for life. He's pretty much there until he calls it a career, like Bob Stoops and Bobby Bowden. So why in the world would he want to throw all that away to go coach a team like the Browns, where even with his magic at head coach, they'd be lucky to do anything even worth noting in less than 3-5 years?

while I doubt it as well. Its not a stretch of a possibility. He was under Belichick in Cleveland years ago and he knows the mistakes he made or what he learned from Miami etc.

Pete Carroll learned from his past and is doing well. Saban is the most successful protege of Belichick as well. They both run tight ships and recruit and draft very well

It's not a stretch of possibility, no, but I still don't know why the hell he would want to leave. He is set for life there. As long as he wants to remain, he's gonna have a job and contract, paying him millions a year, and with Alabama becoming a hot destination for top players in the country, it's not him trying to recruit players to the team, it's him trying to choose which players he wants.

Whereas in the NFL, he's gonna be with a shitty team, so he's already gonna be sitting there with his work more than cut out for him from day one, basically having to be flawless in the draft selections he makes, making some massive coups in free agency to draw in top talent, and even then, it would probably be 2-3 years at least before he would start to see actual success on the field with an NFL team, which by that time, the fans are already starting to call for your ass to be fired.

There's also the fact that he would be in a division with the Steelers and Ravens and throw in the Bengals(every 5 years) It would take a heck of a lot of work to do anything sustainable in that division.

I'm sorry but there MUST be something going on behind the scenes for him to be THAT good at recruiting kids. The dude has :5star: players as 3rd stringers. It's ridiculous the amount of recruit talent on that team.

While I'm not going to say they are completely clean because I have no idea, but iirc Bama hasn't even had the top class in awhile. Consistently top 10 but Texas, Florida, etc get the same amount of 5 stars.

This. Getting talent is one thing, developing it and then game planning are two more. Sadly, Saban does all three very well.

2004 = 29 commits
2005 = 31 commits
2006 = 23 commits
2007 = 25 commits
2008 = 32 commits
2009 = 28 commits
2010 = 26 commits
2011 = 23 commits
2012 = 26 commits
2013 = currently 20 commits

pretty hard to justify an 85 scholarship player roster with those totals.

Gotta love the SEC.

Though to mors initial point about "they're dirty because they have 5-star players as third stringer" ... pretty easy to do that when you also have 5-star players on the first and second string. And the allure of "we're going to win a championship" works pretty well.

Yep pretty easy to scout talent when you can cut the dead weight in your higher classes every year
