This band is absolutely legendary in Houston, when it comes to metal. I was fortunate enough to have seen them 20 or 30 times in the early 90s, before they broke up. Sadly, for the rest of the world, internal issues kept them from reaching a worldwide audience though they had numerous opportunities to do so (Phil Anselmo of Pantera was among their biggest fans back in the day).

Anyway, they recently started playing again and their second show since reforming was last Saturday and I was able to see the mighty dead horse again.

Such a unique band. They blurred the line between thrash and death metal and added their own unique Texas twist. For those so inclined, enjoy!

In 2000 Slayer was part of the Tattoo the Earth tour and Jeff let me (and my ex) stand up on the side of the stage with Slayer's family members and friends during their performance here in Houston. As many bands as I've seen, and as many times as I've seen Slayer, that will always be the coolest experience I've ever had with any of it. Awesome memory.

Been a fan of all STP albums, even the ones that weren't huge hits. That said, I also HATED Talk Show. That was a shitty album. I really dig the new EP with Chester. His lows and highs fit very well with the DeLeo's and Eric (not exv), much like Scott's did. Hope they do a full album eventually.
