Texas @ Texas Tech is my game of the week, always love seeing the Red Raiders beat the Longhorns.

Also rooting for LSU as I want a Kansas St - Oregon National Championship. Flash versus Bash and no SEC whatsoever. Now that OU is out of the picture I would love to see KSU win the championship. Hard to root against Collin Klein and Bill Snyder.

And because HS football is over (well, the regular season is over, playoffs start this week, but our team that we cover on the AM station finished the season 4-6 and is done, so I'm done with HS football for another year), I can finally watch the Friday night games again.

I think this is karma for last year's uniforms ...

Caleb Rowe becomes 4th Maryland QB lost to season-ending injury

Maryland announced Sunday evening that Rowe suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during Saturday’s 20-17 loss at Boston College and will be lost for the season.

Freshman linebacker Shawn Petty, who served as Rowe’s backup Sunday and has yet to play in a college game, will presumably work as the starter Saturday when the Terps (4-4, 2-2 ACC) play host to Georgia Tech (3-5, 2-3).

Rowe is the third Maryland quarterback lost to an ACL tear; junior C.J. Brown (in August) and freshman Perry Hills (in an Oct. 20 loss to N.C. State) had the same injury. Sophomore Devin Burns was diagnosed with a Lisfranc injury in his left foot after that game and will also miss the rest of the season

@sunjeffbarker: #Terps coach confirms LB Shawn Petty will start at QB vs. Boston College with TE Brian McMahon as the QB backup.

And a new formation variant is formed. Better get this in NCAA 14 EA Sports or there will be great dissatisfaction amongst the troops.

We've played FIVE QBs this season. No one has started more then 2 games.True ... but ... there's a difference between four scholarship QBs lost for the season (though I'm not even sure if they were all scholarship!), and just going through different starters (even with week-to-week injuries). At least one of your QBs had played in all but two games.

Oh shit. Shit just got really real in this year's Army-Navy game. Army laid down an absolute ass whooping of Air Force today. With that win, the Army-Navy game is no longer about Navy getting ready to whoop Army's ass for the 11th straight year. It just became for all the marbles, the Commander-in-Chief's trophy. Navy's trying to get the trophy back for the first time since 2009, Army looking for their time since 1996. Great, like the Army-Navy game needed any more goddamn drama, nor like I needed any more chances of having an ulcer while watching the game in December.

If Oregon's whipping of USC continues, and Notre Dame plays a tight game against USC (as I expect), I believe Oregon will end up higher than ND in the end. But ND has to hope for two teams to lose, just to take the control away from the pollsters.

Yeah, Army was just rolling them. Army's 2-7 record is deceptive, as turnovers have killed them many games. Even then, they have still been within 10-15 points most games. With as tight and close of a battle as the Army-Navy game have been the past couple years, combine that with the C-I-C trophy now being on the line, and Army seeking their first win over Navy since 2001, along with their first C-I-C trophy since 1996, this year's Army-Navy game is going to be fierce.

It's got me a bit worried this year. It's all going to come down to who prepares the best during their half month bye. Both teams play their last games on November 17th, then are done for the year until the Army-Navy game on December 8th.

SmoothPancakes
11-03-2012, 07:26 PM
Oh yeah, I forgot, Navy beats Florida Atlantic today 24-17. With that result, it's bowling time! After a brief absence from the bowl season by Navy last year, the Midshipmen return. Navy has officially accepted their invitation to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl on December 29th at 4pm.

The projected opponent in the game will be a team from the Pac-12. Based on current standings, Navy could matchup with Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA or Washington. Personally, I would love to see Navy take on Washington. After that, my preference for order of play would be Arizona State, then Arizona, then UCLA.

yep, a fg at the end of the half, combined with a score on this drive, would make it a tie ball game.....a situation that oregon doesnt know very well.

God I fucking hate college football fans when their team loses. Michigan State players are bitching on Twitter about the refs because of a pass interference penalty at the end of the game today with Nebraska. The fans are bitching too claiming the refs lost the game for MSU. 2 fumbles lost it for MSU. Letting Nebraska convert 4th and 2 right before they scored to make it 24-21 lost it for Nebraska. Letting Nebraska convert 4th and 10 on the final drive lost it for MSU. MSU lost it for MSU, not the refs. The MSU fans and players can all shut the fuck up. It's their own goddamn fault they lost, enough of this stupid goddamn fucking bullshit of blaming it on the refs. Accept some fucking responsibility for your failures as a team for once.

That's what we call "Alabama responds".

calling the plays for the single worst defensive performance in USC history. he needs to goTo be fair, the USC defense has been pretty poor this year. Whether that's talent, recruiting, development or playcalling (or all four), I don't know. But that defense, combined with that Oregon offense, was a recipe for "worst defensive performance in history". Plus USC was actually scoring, so the Oregon offense didn't pull its foot off the gas. And both offenses were scoring quickly, so the defense gets gassed.

Basically, if I was evaluating the USC defense (and the staff), I wouldn't look at this game at all. There's no way the USC defense was going to come out of this game looking good.

the defense has been absolutely shit for all 3 years that monte's been here. if this was his first season, i can understand a terrible defensive game, but he's in his 3rd year now. but game after game, monte's defense consistantly gives up huge numbers, especially in the passing game. i'm hearing that he refuses to take advise from other coaches on possible adjustments and is, overall, just stuck in his stubborn ways. how many more games does his defense have to give up over 400 offensive yards before a change is made?

edit: in the last 2 games combined, monte's defense has given up 101 points and over 1300 yards. there's not a fan in the country who should defend their DC after giving up those kinds of numbers, regardless of the team.

there's not a fan in the country who should defend their DC after giving up those kinds of numbers, regardless of the team. There have been plenty of poor USC defensive performances this year. I don't disagree. But I think you could have taken the best defensive coach in the nation this week, give him that overmatched USC talent that was out there tonight, and Oregon still would have shredded them.

Can him for all of the other reasons you mentioned. But not Oregon.

0-9 and I'm still numb to it all.
:Southern_Miss:

At least you know you suck. WVU, on the other hand, tempts me with pie in the sky ideas only to COMPLETELY crash and burn. At least at 0-9, you are pleasantly surprised by a close game. College football has not been nice to me this year, at all. :(

I actually saw a van tonight with a Southern Miss sticker on the back. I thought, "poor bastard must be as miserable as Bill." :)

There is still the Memphis game so a little hope left. On the not so bright side you are the undisputed #1 team on the ESPN Bottom Ten list for the past three weeks.

Let's just say that people on the :Southern_Miss: message boards are keenly aware of our "#1" ranking. We're on equal footing with fucking UMass! We were 12-2 last year. Everyone expected a dropoff with a new head coach and new starting QB but this isn't just a dropoff. This is some Wile E. Coyote off a cliff shit right here. We're non-competitive. We're getting blown out by Western Kentucky, Marshall, and Rice. We give up 27 second half points to UAB. If it weren't for 3 inches of water on the field, Louisville would have blown us out too. It's a fucking mess. It's so bad that I don't even want to win anymore. I'm actually rooting for 0-12 now so at least this historically bad season can go out like a champ. 1 or 2 wins means we tried and I rather just pretend we lost everything because we just didn't try this year.

I'm now really disappointed that Tulsa and Southern Miss don't play this year, since the championship game showdown became a pipe dream after week 3 of the season.

It would be a waste of Tulsa's time. They're better off having an intra-squad scrimmage.
