NY Pizza FTW. Pizza should be devoured by the slice and be thin. I once went to Chicago on business and the one time the company I was working with had pizza, it was standard NY fare. Only a couple of the employees there preferred Chicago Style Deep Dish.

I'll say that 95% of the pizza I eat is NY Style, but, occasionally, I'll make a deep dish pizza instead. It's awesome because it's extra bready and it just has a different flavor and texture compared to just eating normal pizza.

I've seen it called "St. Louis style", "Midwest style", and "Ohio style", but my favorite is the style that I get from Donatos Pizza.

http://www.discoverindy.com/images/merchantpics/DonatosPic.jpg

Thin, cracker-like crust, plenty of toppings, a unique sauce that I've never been able to describe. And cut party-style.

There's a pizza place in St Albans in WV called Lorobi's Pizza that makes pizza pretty much like that, but it's a bit different.

This is a representation of what it looks like:

Yeah, there's a place a couple miles outside of town here out in the country called Miller's Corner Pizza, in the "town" (if it could be called that) of Ayersville. They make their pizza like that, god that stuff is good. We do a remote there every year for Christmas for Kids, going out on a week night in mid to late November, spending 5-8pm standing out in the roads around Miller's collecting money (all 5 roads into Ayersville converge on two intersections right there around Miller's). Afterwards, we all go in and order pizza to take home, usually ordering at least 2 boxes each. With me and rest of the Mix staff (usually 6 or 7 people), plus 2-5 Marines out helping us collect during the campaign, there are a shit ton of pizzas getting made between 7:30 and 8pm.

Smooth, you're in Ohio! Just go to Donatos!

I will go to Donatos one or two times when I'm home for Christmas. Ironically, they opened up a store in Northern VA a year or so ago, and I haven't been in months (it is, sadly, the opposite direction of my work, home, or anything else I ever need to go to).

There's not one nearby. Closest Donatos is Findlay and Lima. I'm sure Donatos is very good, but driving an hour one-way just for pizza is not something I'm really willing to do, and to actually go to either city for something else is almost nil. I haven't been to Findlay for anything in a decade, and I haven't been to Lima (or even passing by/through Lima on my way to Dayton) in at least 1-2 years. So unless a Donatos opens up in Defiance, Napoleon, Paulding or Bryan in the next year or two, I'm not sure I'll be having it any time soon.

It's fuckin' AMAZING man. I recommend HIGHLY that you eat there when you get a chance. They don't deliver though. You'll have to go pick it up.

It's actually in St Albans (about 20 minutes from Charleston to the East). Apparently there is also a location in Gallipolis, Ohio as well (right across the Ohio River from Huntington) so they're an option as well. Not sure if they are as good, but they have the same ratings on Urbanspoon and such.

Nah, St Albans is East of Charleston by 20 minutes. So it's a tad bit closer than having to come all the way to Charleston (unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying about length of distance you'd have to go out of your way to get to eat there).

You are, but I understand why. I take I-68 to Morgantown, than 79 down to Clarksburg and US-50 over to Ohio. To get to St Albans I'd have to continue on 79 wayyyyy past Clarksburg.

You also have me utterly confused, because every map I can find distinctly shows St. Albans west of Charleston. But that doesn't matter as much as the fact that I'd be 80 miles out of the way :D

I'm an idiot. I looked at google maps wrong, it is WEST of Charleston. I drive it so much, I don't even pay attention anymore...

The past 2 years though we order only Papa John's

My wife isn't a fan but I sure am. I got one of those free pizza's, the "2 million free pizza's" so I took advantage and ordered it this past weekend
