Sorry Dawg just seeing this. If you can go tonight let's do that as it sounds like our best bet. I can play in about 30 minutes

Akron comes away with an impressive victory in a defensive slugfest against Middle Tennessee. The two teams combined for only 404 yards of offense with MTSU taking the narrow margin of 205 yards. Additionally, the two teams only combined for 205 yards passing. Neither team scored in the first half resulting in a 0-0 tie as the teams went to the break.

Defensively though, the show belonged to Akron and most specifically SS Kendrick Parks. Parks made two leaping interceptions that both proved to be critical, one of which was returned for a pick 6. The other interception gave Akron the short field allowing them to eventually put a touchdown on the board when QB Phillip Johnson connected to TE Sid Gibbs on a goalline fade. Gibbs provided two critical 3rd down receptions (one being the touchdown) and WR Johnny Robinson & CJ Love added their own 3rd down reception to help keep the chains moving.

Parks' interception returned for touchdown was especially critical as it stopped a steady drive by the Blue Raiders. MTSU's HB Chris Johnson seemed to be ramming the ball down the defense's throat, however coach PSUsnoop made a gutsy call that didn't pay off trying to hit a TE on a corner route towards the sideline. Parks recognized it though and jumped in front of it before running it back 89 yards as the 3rd quarter ended. From there, steady defense plus Parks' second crucial pick of the day allowed the Zips to escape with the narrow victory putting them at 3-1 as they close non-conference play.

Next up for Akron will be hosting #15 Tulane as they start conference play.

Great game snoop... definitely one of the more intense defensive battles I've had in a long time.

Great game and nice break down there.

Man I really wanted that 4-0 start in Non-Conference :smh: Oh well, time to really get back to it here and figure out how we can start taking advantage of some of these drives that end in the red zone. The staff will be putting together some new looks for next week it is rumored.

There were a couple of balls I thought my secondary could have made plays on but for whatever reason they didn't. Hopefully this is a one game funk for them and they rebound soon.
