So in the excitement of Madden 13 I went out and bought Madden 10 and 12 to get ready and practiced up. I really like '10 it seems to have good game flow, the menus make sense (it's easy to navigate) and it seems like a good overall game, plus it was $3.99.

I also picked NCAA 09 today for $1.99, this game is GREAT! I don't know why they take out some of the cool features. I like being able to celebrate w/ the mascot and if you get open, or are free to waltz into the endzone you can press O and your player will raise his hand in a fist or highstep, I know it can sometimes be a penalty in real life but I like having the option to do it. I'll take the penalty if I can do it against my rival.

The recruiting is right my alley too, you can "quick call" but inside a quick call you can offer a scholarship. The only thing you can't do on a quick call is schedule a visit. I have 19 prospects on my board and I just called all of them and offered them scholarships and it took less than 5 mins. More time to play the game!

I don't have the real player names since this is an older version of the game but I did go in and edit the player names of the ones I know from back in the day. I edited their numbers if applicable and named the head coach to his proper name from the 2008 season.

I like the 3 announcers too, the newer versions only have 2 guys talking. I like how this one has all 3.

On another note as far as "old school" I hooked up my old NES. My 4 year old wanted to try it out. I wasn't sure if it would still work, WHY DON'T THEY MAKE THINGS LIKE THEY USED TO? I hooked it all up and BAM it fired right up. I have 31 games for this thing, excitebike is his favorite, he's not quite sure about double-dribble, rbi baseball, blades of steel, and many others but excitebike is good b/c he can do it, he laughs and gets excited the entire time. He likes to do wheelies.

One thing though, I guess the older style tv's with the tube must have had the electrons on the screen or a mirror in the tube, the NES gun doesn't work on Mario/Duck Hunt. The game will make the shooting noise and the screen will flash but it won't "shoot" the ducks. I tried holding the gun about 1/2" away from the screen and it provided the same results, the screen flashes and then the dog comes out and laughs that I missed the ducks. I guess the new flat screen tv's don't send the signal back. Anyways, it's cool the old machine still works like a champ! It is funny to see super mario on a 32" flat screen tv. :D

Good times!

You can still hold :ps3cir:, it just doesn't trigger a celebration anymore (just slows you down).
