Bowl week is over and FAU's season ends with a 34-28 loss to Toledo in the Go Daddy.com Bowl. The game play was outstanding. There was a clear and decisive difference in game play with the default Heisman sliders.

I will try to explain my experience with default Heisman with this list of grades.

1. Game Play A+ The overall flow of the game was a lot smoother than any other set that we have tried. Plays were executed and not just clumsily run. The freedom to call more plays without worrying about the blatant lack of execution was refreshing. The CPU ran the option and I was also able to put a reasonable level of trust in the option as well. To put it simply the game just played smoother.

2. Strategy A- This was one of the most noticeable things to me and it really was a surprise. The ability to call plays or audible to better plays based on the CPU's alignment really worked. Example if the CPU picked up on a tendency of yours you could actually use that to your advantage. Keep showing dive or inside runs over and over then audible and when the CPU gives you want you want take advantage. The cool thing about this is the fact that they don't make many mistakes in terms of alignment so you can't abuse this. They didn't seem as psychic as they were before the patch.

3. Stats A- The stats came out really well. I have played two other games since my bowl game and the stats still continued to come out very well. The CPU was able to run and pass at a realistic clip considering the match ups. The same can be said for myself. When I have played good passing teams, at times it was really tough to slow down the CPU when they got hot. Believe it or not, but I will guaranty that if you played an option team say like Georgia Tech, I bet they will execute better than you expect they will. Fear the option lol.

4. Realism B- The only reason that I gave it a B- for realism is because there are some things that just can't be replicated in a video game. You can only get so close. Our games are closer to the real deal than any variety of USER play. USER vs USER, USER vs CPU. Our Coach Mode style is the realist in football gaming hands down

5. Fun Level A++ I had a complete adrenaline rush for all my games because I really felt that I could lose. While at the same time feeling that if I called the right plays and made the right adjustments I really gave my team a chance to win.

Final thought - I really think that default Heisman needs to be TGT Coach Mode OD (360)'s last stop. It's the highest skill level and dare I say it but it plays better and fairer than the varsity set we used recently. I honestly feel that this is the only setting that will allow us to win or lose organically regardless of the opponent. If you upset a team you earned it. If you get beat by a bad team well they earned it. Most importantly it's fun as hell.:))
