While the league is certainly one of the strongest either of us has been apart of, we believe these settings will help to maintain a high level of internal consistency and statistical output to help propel the league to a higher level.

The proposed changes are:

1. Use ILiveForThis and Authentic's sliders as is. (http://www.operationsports.com/forums/ncaa-football-sliders/559748-iliveforthis-authentics-simulation-saturday-slider-project.html) We both feel that those two consistently produce high level sliders that are geared towards a more traditionally minded, simulation approach. The sliders are constantly updated to suit the needs of the users and compensate for changes that EA makes to the game's code. Our suggestion is to adhere to their settings exactly (including the suggested quarter length and substitution routines but leaving volume control preferences up to the user).

2. Ban the use of custom playbooks

3. Allow the user to customize the percentages and settings in the Offensive and Defensive Style menus of the Coach settings (with the exception of custom playbooks, as previously mentioned).

4. Enable Ask Coach modes for both offense and defense and restrict the user to select only from those plays that are made available through this mode. Since Electronic Arts caters to users that primarily play online games against other users, it is likely that less developmental time has been allocated to develop the artificial intelligence in the game. This hampers the computer's ability to adjust to a human's playcalling system and allows for the user to make decisions that could potentially exploit the shortcomings of the artificial intelligence, oftentimes allowing for vastly different game outcomes that would not otherwise occur. In order to help maintain a sense of consistency and realism, restricting the user to the plays made available via Ask Coach mode prevents the user from picking "bread and butter" plays that work far too consistently/effectively as well as forces the user to choose from a variety of plays that the artificial intelligence deems as appropriate for the current game situation. From what we understand, there are approximately 15 plays made available to the user for any given down using this approach (encompassing a variety of runs and passes, giving the user plenty of options).

5. Audibles- Restrict audible usage to only those plays made available using the right analog stick. This prevents the user from making major formation changes mid play, but still affords him flexibility in terms of a personalized approach to game situations.

6. Hot routes- Only two players may be hot routed for any given stock play. This limits the ability of the user to exploit the limitations of the A.I. in its current stage of development. Note: The term hot route does not include players designated to offer additional blocking (potentially called "hot blocks"). The user may designate as many players as desired for hot blocking and still hot route as many as two players.

7. Hot routes (deep routes)- One of the A.I.'s issues involve its inability to consistently cover the long ball. If the user chooses to hot route a receiver into a deep route, a maximum of one of the two hot routes may be allocated for this purpose. The user may also only use a hot route to a deep passing route if the stock play being edited has less than two receivers currently running deep routes.

8. Only two players may run deep passing routes- Considering the A.I.'s inability to consistently cover the deep ball, a maximum of two receivers for any given play (stock and/or hot route) may run a deep route (Be it Vertical or Wheel route).

We truly feel that implementing these changes to the league will help maintain a level of statistical consistency that will help allow this league to maintain its standing as one of the best NCAA 13 leagues out there (coach mode or otherwise).

Yep here are the final rules changes we discussed and came up with.

Use Authentic's AA sliders from OS
No custom playbooks on offense or defense
Must use Ask Coach for play calling
Only use right stick same formation audibles
Limit of two hot routes per play, unlimited hot blocks
Most importantly- only two players may end their routes running straight up the field.

This includes streaks, wheels, out and ups, sluggos, etc.
Does not include posts, flags, those end running cross field not straight vertical
If you call a play that has 3 routes doing this you must hot route 1 to a different route

Thanks for the opportunity to play but I'm done. You just advanced the league while I was in the middle of recruiting. Have fun everyone.
