View Full Version : Brag about your recruits

With the more dynamic recruits this year, I thought it might be cool to let folks brag about their newly signed recruits. Whether they're three-position athletes, huge-jump gems, or just all the guys named Holycross.
I'll start by rubbing it in texacotea's face that I signed Athlete Kevin Jones in the Powerhouse OD.

He'll be ready to compete right away at replacing QB16 for Michigan, running the Wolverines' Split Gun offense. Good speed, acceleration, agility, and a shifty, powerful runner. His accuracy isn't what it ultimately needs to be but is not much of a drop-off from QB16 so he'll fit right in early on.

In two recruiting classes this guy is my favorite. Can't remember his exact ranking but he was a 4 star ATH. I thought he was a CB, but I've been using him as a 3DRB and KR. You can't coach speed.

I signed a 6'3 220lbs 3* FS. Initially i was just reaching to see if i could grab him because he was in my pipeline, but after i scouted him 100%. He ended up being a +15 gem and a 75 overall. I'm doing a coaching career at FAU and this guy is the BMOC without even setting foot here yet.

Nice catch!! I love seeing this kind of potential from the scouting.

Related question....
Have any of you noticed that the gems improve more during and after the season than the busts?

-A +16 ATH when I changed him to WR. He is now a JR. He won the Best WR in both FR and SO seasons. Isnt fast(but has 90 speed), but is a reliable possesion WR. Built like a TE at 6'3 239. I signed 3 +10 ATH/WR the year right after him. I cut one of those WRs though.
- A QB that I havent signed yet, but has us at #1. He is the #1 QB that had us at #1. Going into the season, I didnt have a need at all at QB(having 3 FR QB), but he could start over all 3 of team. I for got his OVR, but he has 95 THA, 85 THP, and B speed. I have a good lead and should sign him. I will start him day one, even though I will have a QB "better" then him. With his THA, I should be able to make alot of passes. He is 6'0 200.
- A SS that I havent signed yet, but has us at #1. He is the #1 SS. Like the QB spot, I didnt have a need at all. I signed a 6'6 SS last year and that I RSed, that I was intrigued with. But, this dude is a beast. he is 6'1. He has 91 speed, 90 tackle, 80 HPOW, 75 Zone and 70 Man. He is the ideal safety for my defense. I will have better safety next year, but he has to play. The Safeties I had so far(had 2 safeties start every year) have been coverage guys and average tacklers. I dont know if I will start him, but he will definitely play alot. I will put him in the 4-2-5 and 3-3-5.

wr or qb?

Probably the obvious answer, MVP, but go whichever place he fits your needs best. I had three similar ATHs this year (though, in my case, they were DB/QBs). One of them fit in perfectly with a need I have at DB, so he went there. The other two were perfect for my planned offense, and I didn't have quite the need at CB, so I put them at QB.
Now in year 2, I suddenly have a depth need at CB, so maybe that wasn't the best choice :D But I think you get my point. If he's going to be the #1 WR and the #1 QB, that's a problem for you (but a good one to have!), but there's no sense in putting him at WR if he's #5, unless you don't have a need at QB either.

he would get playing at either position. at qb, he's the fastest qb, has the best arm strength, and is second of what could be 5 qb's on the roster. the oldest of the 4 current qb's is currently a sophomore, and my starter is currently a rs frosh. depending on the progression of each, it may alter my decision. i would have a greater need for a big playmaker at wr, but i also have plenty of depth (9 wr's atm).
i guess i'm gonna have to start using some wildcat into my raid and shoot offense

He'll probably squeeze into QB but could move over to CB if Blake Countess leaves for the NFL early. Will be a great competition between Dean & Jones (posted in the first post) next season for the starting QB.

Every year I try to find a player that is " raw" . I think I can do something with this Guy get his catching up a little and CIT and I might have something.
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n243/oweb2/AthRB.png
This Guy has the potential to be a beast at RB with those attributes(stiff arm, Break Tackle, Trucking) will be a nice mix up from my speed / balanced backs.

This is my debars Robinson. Has the speed and the elusiveness of a RB but can actually throw, the accuracy could be better sure but he has power and I am great at developing QB with my offense.
