Our first user vs user game this week and it was a very fun, well played, even game.

Coach Kernzy brought his struggling Utah St Aggies into San Jose to face the Spartans in the first conference game for both teams. It was a back and forth affair with neither team leading by more than 10 at any point.
Early on it was a feeling out process for both teams just getting an idea of what would work and how to attack the other team. The first quarter ended tied 3-3 and then business picked up a little in the 2nd qtr. San Jose went on a great drive and capped it off with a 5 yd TD run by HB Freeman. Utah St couldn't muster much more offense but did drive late in the half to get another FG to make the score 10-6 Spartans at half.
To open the 3rd qtr the Spartans got the kickoff and drove down for another FG of their own to make it 13-6. Again the Aggies could not put anything together on offense while San Jose then added another FG at the end of the 3rd qtr to gain the largest lead of the game 16-6.
After that it was time to do some work before this thing got out of hand for the Aggies. They drove down and added a FG to get back with 7, 16-9. On the ensuing drive the much maligned Utah St defense came up with a big play as the MLB on a spy stepped in front of a crossing receiver and picked it off giving the offense good field position to start and try to tie this game up.
That's exactly what happened shortly there after. A 12 yard strike for a TD after the backup QB had to shrug off a defender (video posted). At this point the big MO had swung and the Aggies were feeling it. The Spartans came out and promptly had to punt after another by play by the MLB to stuff a 3rd and short run play. The Aggie offense then kept it rolling with a good drive that ended in another TD pass to make the score 23-16 Aggies.
But then the defense was back to it's old tricks, letting the offense get a lead after coming back and then giving up the tie or go ahead score like a whore on prom night. So after the defense closed their legs it was now a tie ball game 23-23 with about 1:30 left on the clock.
Luckily the Aggie offense was still hot so behind the backup QB and the hurry up offense the Aggies drove down the field and got into FG range. Playing conservative just looking to setup the ball in the middle of the field for the FG was the plan. However HB Williams had other plans, he breaks a Goalline Power O off the right side and takes it to the house (video posted) for the desperately needed Aggie win.
Great game and well called by Underdog and his squad but I just caught a couple more breaks than him.
The Aggies now have hope of at least doing well in conference play and from there we'll see what happens.

On the recruiting front that big win yielded some good news afterward as well with a big 4* OT commitment .
Coach Kernzy got a call after the game from their most sought after recruit saying, "I'm gonna be a Utah St Aggie coach!"
The Nevada native is 4* T Mark Oliver 78(+6) rated as the 15th best T in the country and he'll come in and start right away.
The Aggies beat out the likes of SEC powerhouses LSU and Georgia due to proximity to home and immediate playing time being high priorities for Mark. Utah St also recruited him hard and heavy from the start knowing that Mark could come right in and start..

The Aggies are also looking good on several other 70s range players that all could come right in and help build this team into a WAC powerhouse. I just hope I'm around to see it and I don't get fired :)

One of those looks like a triple threat athlete that EA talked about with these ratings 100% scouted, looks like this guy could be a great scrambling QB, a WR or even a DB, we shall see

Coach looks like you got your self a pretty good prospect. I followed that game on ESPN and boy it seemed like a real barn burner. We're doing pretty good down here at FAU in recruiting.

With Florida being our pipeline state we can't go wrong. It's so much talent FSU, UM, and Florida can't take them all. Right now we're in the top half in the recruiting class rankings.

Wow like a " whore giving up a score on prom night " that was pretty good! I like that one 10 out of 10 and 2 thumbs up for that one.
