Texas State has gotten there first win of the season, 54-35 Was the final score.
**THE GAME**
We came out swinging in the first half outscoring them 47-7 at half. The running game was going, QB Shaun Rutherford was amazing. It really looked good. Then the second half started.... We got outscored 28-7 in the second half, we knew we had the win all along but it was really disapointing to see us get scored that badly and to have our offense almost shutdown. There was some reason behind it though, we pulled out Rutherford midway through the 3rd quarter because he already had 4 td's and we didnt want to risk injury to our starting QB. In doing this we quickly found out how bad our 2nd and 3rd string quarterbacks are, our 2nd stringer went 0-4 with one interception and the 3rd stringer went 1-4 with 1 interception, Both QB's were un-easy in the pocket and made really bad decisions when throwing. On the other hand though we got to see what our back-up running backs were made of, and I was thoroughly impressed, all 4 running backs got carries and proves they would be able to step up if they were needed to come in for some reason. 2nd stringer Curry had 36 yards on 5 carries.3rd stringer Dexter Imade really showed promise rushing for 68 yards and 1 td on just 3 carries. Freshman running back Justin Albritton saw the field for the first time this season and showed that he could be relied upon in the future , he had 6 carries for 44 yards. Defensively there really wasnt an excuse, we let them have some good drives and gave up a few big gains through the air, I take responsibility for a few of them when i called some bad plays.
