Well the bobcats now have there first FBS game in the books. The final score was 34-17.
Overall it was a decent performance for the team, we didnt expect a win against Houston and will walk away with some good experience. The game started out slow with the 1st quarter ending in 7-0 for Houston, They went on to hit 2 field goals in the second to make the game 13-0 going into Halftime, the offence was playing well but drives continued to stall around there opponents 40. Houston came out in the 3rd quarter and layed a beating on us, they threw a 57 yard touchdown then returned a fumble for a touchdown. At that point it was 27-0 going into the 4th, to start the 4th Houston drove down the field and ended the drive with a 12 yard pass. The score was 34-0 with 7:30 remaining and it looked as if they were gonna get shut-out, but then it started, the bobcats werent going to be shut out and began there drive with a 75 yard pass for a touchdown, this fueled the defence to get a quick stop and gave the offence another chance. The offence drove down past the 50 and then connected a 38 yard pass to Erickson. The sidelines were going crazy and this lead to another amazing defensive stop handing the offence a chance to finish the game 3/3 for drives in the 4th quarter. The Offense took the opportunity and settled for a 40 yard field goal. This making the final score 34-17.
QB Shaun Rutherford showed viewers that he was able to compete at the FBS with a acceptable showing, Rutherford connect on 14 of 24 passes with 2 TD, 276 yards,56 yards rushing and only 1 interception.
