Great game, played the shit out of it for a couple of months when it came out then never got back to it after I stepped away. Eventually I will get back on it.

A steal! Loved that game and beat it twice.
These types of games are more fun for me than true RPGs.

Did Prime Day have any good gaming deals? The first few times I checked they didn't.
Not really. They had Prey and Dark Souls 3 marked down but no big deal. Good deal on a Baracuda hard drive. They did have a nice XBox One bundle with Kinect. If you didn't want the Kinect it wasn't hot at all. That was Canada though and the deals were probably different.
I checked and I didn't see any good prime deals period. It was mostly junk and stuff that was on sale was already free via +/Gold or WAY cheaper to buy digitally.

According to Good Morning America, this was the biggest day in Amazon's history and the top seller was some 7-in-1 pressure cooker 'that can even make yogurt!' :fp: I didn't browse it much, but I sure didn't see any big deals

Yeah Amazon has basically "tricked" the vast majority of the American public that its Prime "deals"/"sales" are real "steals". The reality is the super majority of it is garbage and its garbage that isn't even the cheapest price for it. I actually let my Prime membership lapse/expire.
I was having repeated issues with those union UPS drivers dropping my packages off at the wrong house 3/4 a mile a way. Apparently Lone Oak Way is too similar to Lone Tree Trail. The funny thing is the house that they kept delivering to isn't even the same number as mine. I called Amazon and they really didn't seem to care (In fact they told me I needed to walk the mile and a half and pick it up myself and that they wouldn't be resending any more orders) so I just cancelled about $5K in future orders for the rest of the year and let the subscription end.
I'm now saving TONS of money just buying the subscribe and save products at my local grocery store or at Target/Walmart. I doubt I ever go back to Amazon and if Wal-Mart or someone else gets their shit together for online delivery and uses FedEx or even the god forsaken USPS I'll start shopping there.

Yep only again the house #s are NOT the same - I'd understand somewhat if both houses had the same # but they don't and its not even close. In fact my "neighbor" and I don't even share a single number in our addresses.
Meh this is Oklahoma a castle state and stand your ground where you can legally get shot for messing with other's property. Thankfully, Al Gore's internet saved me and I messaged my neighbor that I was coming over for my Amazon package and wasn't blown away.
Last night on Amazon an Xbox One S bundle was somehow very briefly on sale (credit back?) making it free. Sure enough, I have seen two people say they were able to order in that short window and the free XB1 is shipping out to them.

Between what games I am focusing on right now and work, I just haven't had the time.
It's only going to get worse with 5 or 6 more purchases planned on games coming out over the next 60 days.

For me MEA was a very cluttered experience. Too much crap getting in the way of fun. I think Destiny 2 is a much more focused and fun experience with very little "down" time spent talking to NPCs and trying to figure out what the heck you are doing. So easy to travel to different spots and jump into action in Destiny. Very streamlined.
I'm not going to call MEA a bad game. Played it for a 12 hours or so. Not sure. But it felt like work and it just wasn't enough fun for me. I'm not a big RPG guy though. Just felt average and I wasn't willing to make the big time commitment that game required.

I was surprised to see no deals on SW Battlefront on Black Friday due to the backlash. I do expect them before Christmas as I don’t think the game has sold well after the controversy. At least physical sales were reported low.

I *think* the goal is to get the game into as many hands as possible to try and change minds, even if it comes at a dirt cheap price. I've seen nothing to indicate they might be ending the franchise, especially with the amount of post-release support - but I do see how/why it looks that way and I could be wrong.
The guy they have writing blogs for their official site tweeted out that LIVE fans will be getting a surprise on Christmas. I don't know what that could possibly entail....maybe a new game mode opening/unlock?
The post-release support has been great for modes/LIVE Run, but I've been disappointed in the lack of standard 5v5 NBA gameplay improvements. There's been virtually nothing on that front.
Re: the Live sale for $10 - yeah its a last ditch effort to "save" the franchise. of course its not going to work and i would suspect the suits will be handing out the pink slips in short notice

I spend 90% of my time playing My Player on Live Run for the daily gear or I really enjoy the 3 v 3 on the smaller court.
Straight up franchise is okay, nothing special.
You can do My Player in the league and that's pretty cool with daily and weekly goals.

This week (3/18-3/24) Target has buy one get one 50% on video games (excludes Switch, Wii U, and Detective Pikachu for 3DS).
That's not a bad deal given how many games come out this week: MLB The Show 18, A Way Out, and RBI 18 (all on Friday); Sea of Thieves, and Attack on Titan 2.
Today's 'quest' on live.playstation.com (watch a short MLB The Show 18 video) will give a 20% discount code for use in the store. (Valid through 3/31.)
While I don't think you can use it on pre-orders, one could use it to buy MLB 18 digitally next week for 20% off. Quite an immediate deal.

Interesting. I have $15 sitting in my wallet from the $15 back on $100 of purchases they had on the PS Store at the end of February. 20% off, plus the $15 I already have sitting there, I can get a brand new game for just a hair over $30. Think the mileage trophy is glitched but if you just play career mode and nothing else, I think it should be fine.
EDIT: Just checked the forums for this game and they patched it. So it's just a grind, but for a remake of a 2008 game it drives pretty good and there is a lot to do in career.
Amazon is ending their 20% pre-order benefit on video games, now copying Best Buy's $10 credit model.
Second, starting on August 28, Prime members will now get a $10 Amazon credit when pre-ordering select games on Amazon.com. This credit can be used on almost anything sold by Amazon.com. This new pre-order benefit is replacing the current discount on physical game pre-orders. All eligible pre-orders placed before August 28 will still receive the 20% discount under the existing benefit once the game is released.
They ended that a year ago in Canada and now you can’t even pre-order most video games. Brutal. It’s as though they don’t want to sell video games over here anymore.
Edit: we used to get 20% off and they dropped that to 10% over a year ago. Now they are removing that altogether over here.
Smells a bit fishy that all these pre order deals are all coming to an end at pretty much the same time.
Other than my trade in year sports rentals I may just go digital with PS5

Amazon Canada doesn't even offer 90% of the new video games right now. Can't pre-order NBA 2K19 or anything. And we lose our 10% pitiful discount as it is. They did no E3 deals this year either. It would have been nice to have E3 deals for Prime members.

The NBA 2K bundle with Playgrounds is a great deal. Next year I may wait for that bundle deal since it's pretty nice. I just wish you could purchase all the players in Playgrounds for EVERYONE on your PS4. As a user only DLC it sucks.
I'm the same way, Rudy. A guy could wait until All-Star Weekend and get all three NBA games for basically what the cheapest one was at the start of the season. (Playgrounds was $30 IIRC and that 2K/Playgrounds 2 bundle plus LIVE 19 for $6 is around that cost; $32.)
Also, I don't see how LIVE makes it when it has to go $10 or less most of the year in order to start moving copies. They got as low as $5 last year IIRC and thought people would buy 19 for $40 at launch, viewing it as $22.50 per game. No, people realize they can wait and get the game for $10 or less....or worse, they think it's not worth more than that.

Anthem (PS4/physical) is $50 on Amazon right now. Xbox still $60.
MEA dropped in price really fast as they had a lot of physical copies. I hope the game does well and I think as more fixes and content comes people will be happy.
It is crazy to me how many hours some people will play on the same online shooter game. Some of the people that are complaining are the people that have 50-100+ hours and are concerned about drop rates. I just hit level 16 with my Colossus and have 3 of the javelins unlocked. I'll probably stick with my brute though. I'm fine with the loot. I get upgrades every time I play but I'm not at the end of the line. It's something Destiny has to deal with and I think future, high end stuff will get addressed. But not after 1 week.

Yeah, I’m sticking with Ranger myself. If I do decide to switch things up, I’ll go Colossus. Interceptor is the class I’m least interested in.

I tried Storm the other day with a Sniper rifle but I forgot how much less HP I have. I can't just stick my nose into all the action and not worry about dying lol.
This Forbes article calls Ranger the worst javelin by far. Says the other 3 are good. I have no real clue other than I like my Colossus.

Last year when the game hit $5 it cracked PSN's top ten downloads for the month. So far this year when discounted it has not.
I'm assuming they are looking for some sort of quick cash flow and/or more people to try the game. If they just want people to play it, they should make it a PS+ title.
The game was the butt of social media jokes a few days ago when Jourdan Lewis tweeted that he 'had' to get NBA LIVE 19 at $6....only to come back three hours later and say he should have gotten a pizza instead. :D
