I always start a game and play with the sliders until one setting yields realistic results in four different scenarios.

Me with a bad school vs the CPU with a bad school
Me with a good school vs the CPU with a bad school
Me with a bad school vs the CPU with a good school
Me with a good school vs the CPU with a good school

Straight to Play Now mode to beat up the Buckeyes. And Spartans.

Then, check out rosters and playbooks.

Five things

Check out the flexbone playbooks. If they're as stripped down, all while being needlessly redundant, again this year, then I'll go to step two. If they look like they'll be useful, then I'll run the flexbone in one of my ODs.
Check out the new Ohio State playbook. If the changes to gameplay make shotgun option offenses more effective, then the Meyer/Mullins offense could be deadly. If it's everything I hope it will be, then I will use it in my teambuilder/bad teams OD

Right to trophy whoring out RTG and Heisman mode. Gotta get that garbage out of the way as I always hold out and always hate having to do it at the end of the year.

Straight online. I'm usually prepared from playing the demo. And usually, I can get the "in before total cheese/glitcher takeover" feeling.

I'm always drawn to play a quick Apple Cup when I first load the game up. And I'll likely be doing that again tomorrow.

I'll do basically what I've always done. For years, I've started with a Play Now game on default AA playing as PSU, at home, against Notre Dame.

The difference this year is that the game will be in South Bend, and I'll be controlling the Irish. Thanks, PSU BoT! :glare:

GO :Washington_State: :D :D :D

I won't get the game until next Tuesday morning... no midnight release for me this year, but here's the order I plan to do things in:

1 - Custom Playbooks - My 5-Wide will finally be realized and my 46 D will be back in full force!

2 - Go to :North_Texas: and play as either them or :Colorado: and work on getting good Heisman Sliders. W/ out the Psychic DB's and Superman LBers, I am hoping for a great, realistic game in Heisman mode this year. If not, I'll resort back to AA... but I want to be on Heisman

3 - Once Sliders are set and Rosters are named {Fairdale Kings, $$$ is heading your way} Then I will start a dynasty as either :North_Texas: or :Colorado:

4 - Post on here the records my QB's and WR's set just to piss off Steelersfan! :D :D :D

5 - Hopefully have a game I can get totally immersed in and play a LOT!!!

Load up offline dynasty mode with FSU (my Powerhouse OD team) and figure out what kind of mess I got myself in this year.

Then tackle a custom playbook and see if I can figure out an offense.

Making a refinement. After making the playbook but before practice mode, I gotta go to options and:

1) Change difficulty to AA
2) Change the game speed to slow (the demo is like crack on caffeine for me)
3) Put the speed threshold at 0

THEN I can go to practice mode to lab my playbook.

Switch to default AA
Switch to slow
Select one back playbook
Play neb vs. neb scrimiges until rosters come out.

Its tradition. I work the sliders until im satisfied, and i anly play the neb vs neb games because to me it adds to the realism as you are only as good as you practice against. Each team can only practice against their own team.

I alternate as home team and away team.

Yeah, it's gonna be a couple days. Even with season ticket, first full rosters probably won't be out until middle of next week or next weekend.

Me and a friend always play a on-line dynasty with lower ranked teams, so I will go look at 2 star teams and decide which one I want to use.

kindella2
07-06-2012, 09:59 AM
1st go to settings and fix them.
take a look at the rosters for an pre rosters off line dynasty.
Either Florida State, UGA, Texas or a lower team that has decent and upcoming rosters.
after a couple of games start working on a playbook.
start a RTG and a heisman mode to get a feel and something to pass the time till rosters drop late next week.

For 5 years now, The first thing me and my buddy do is play eachother in a bragging rights game. As of right now I have him 3-2. We hold that game against eachother throughout the entire year no matter how many times one of us beats eachother. Its a pretty cool tradition for release day.

I was playing G online the last 2-3 years but this year will be tricky. I think I'll just look up a random and play online since Steelerfan and Eric will be still downloading (row, row, row). :D

skipwondah33
07-06-2012, 11:21 AM
For the past 2 versions pretty sure first thing I did was play G before I did anything else, which includes even look at the playbooks.

I'll do what I do in Madden every year. Try to play unranked games with every school's playbook (skipping over ones I'll have no interest in i.e Air Force, etc). Playing with random teams.

Not much of Play Now guy, since I got used to gameplay in Demo
so I will make a Custom Playbooks.
Then straight to RTG until named rosters are out.
