In the NCAA Football 2012 you could not dissolve a conference in dynasty mode, you could only strip them down to four teams. It would appear that in the 2013 season the WAC will dissolve as a FBS conference, they will be down to two football schools (Idaho and New Mexico St). Will we be able to dissolve conferences in NCAA Football 2013 or will we have to come up with a cheese work around.

If we can't dissolve the WAC I plan to put teams in their proper conferences and have the WAC be a conference of schools that are independents in real life.

2013:
Big East adds:

SMU
Boise St
San Diego St
Houston
UCF
Memphis

C-USA adds:

La Tech
UTSA
FIU
North Texas

Mountain West adds:

Utah St
San Jose St

Sun Belt adds:

Texas St

WAC dissolves or adds:

BYU
Army

Until it is dissolved in real life, you'll probably never be able to rid yourself of any conference in game.

IIRC, you can drop a conference down to one team, but you can't fully dissolve it.

1 must be the limit for independents then.

Isn't the WAC adding UTSA, UTA, and TSU?

If so, that'll put them back up to 5

Isn't the WAC adding UTSA, UTA, and TSU?

If so, that'll put them back up to 5UTSA & TSU are joining for football but UTA is joining for non-football sports.

However, all 3 will be moving to a new conference in 2013. TSU & UTA are going to the Sun Belt while UTSA is going to Conference USA.

So the WAC agreed to let them in for just one year? Since it's their "provisional" year, doesn't that defeat the purpose of them joining?

It's pretty much more like they're bailing as soon as they can for their new conferences. The WAC is still a conference this year, but next year, only Idaho and New Mexico State will be left, so basically, the WAC is completely dead after this season. Essentially, while they're joining the WAC this year, I think they decided to jump ship to elsewhere early enough that they met the deadlines to leave the conference after this season. It's different from conference to conference, like Big East with a 27 month period before they can leave. And even if they didn't meet the deadlines, the WAC is still pretty much dead in the water after the mass exodus this winter.
