Yeah my wife actually enjoyed watching me play it through several times. I played HR pretty much non-stop for 2 months before getting the Plat.

Although this isn't a continuation of the HR story its a completely new plot to play through, I'm really looking forward to learning more about this one.

I wish more companies did this for pre-orders. However, I'd refer that be for all retailers, not just one.

Placing a pre-order for Beyond: Two Souls at GameStop before its October 8 launch date will upgrade your order to the game's Special Edition for free, the PlayStation Blog has detailed.

The Special Edition includes a 30-minute scene focused on guiding protagonist Jodie and her ghostly friend Aiden through a series of test-room puzzles. A soundtrack consisting of the game's four themes will also be paired with "making-of" videos featuring Ellen Page, Willem Dafoe and Beyond's writer, David Cage. A dynamic theme for the PS3 and PSN avatars round out the offering, all of which will be packaged in the Special Edition's metal case.

Unfortunate because I really like Ellen Paige as an actress and I LOVE what Quantic Dream did with Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain. Yeah I agree most of the review sites I frequent are negative on the game. Even Sony fanboys like myself have pretty much said this is NO WHERE close to Heavy Rain due to the story bouncing back and forth in a non linear fashion.

My wife, to this day, still talks about Heavy Rain (and I got it at launch) so I know for a fact she'll get this for me for Christmas.

Played quite a bit of this one today and I'm enjoy it. It is by no means perfect (controls are a little messed up) and it is NOT as good as Heavy Rain but it's definitely worth a rental at the least.

Finished my 1st play through and the story is pretty decent. There are 3 big issues holding this game back though:



Controls are not that good. Several times I hit the right move and it either didn't register or said I did the wrong move;
Story should have been presented in chronological order
Your choices do not affect the story as much as Heavy Rain


Oh well I enjoyed the story and its worth a rental.

The PS4 edition of the game features a number of improvements:

I believe I read in the link above that if you buy this you get a undisclosed discount on Heavy Rain when it comes to PS4 in March.
