2 Time BCS buster Kansas beats down #2 Oklahoma in Norman. The Sooners jumped out to an early 1st quarter lead 0-14. Kansas put up 35 unanswered point to secure the victory. Oklahoma scored with :28 left in the 4th to make the game look closer. Final score 35-21

Not sure what triggers it either because I've experienced it on long injuries, short, commish & non, etc. yet it doesn't always happen.
