Yeah, I'm surprised Amazon hasn't offered it for PS3, unless they will in the near future after the 360 price inevitably goes back up to $59.99. Try to get as many of preorders of the game as you can on both 360 and PS3 and lure people away from other places like Walmart, Gamestop, etc.

It typically has a nice breakdown of teams, playbooks, top players, etc. for at least the Top 25, some aspects for all teams. The authors of the guide (SGibs & ZFarls) are pretty stout tourney players (not cheesers, though) and give some good strategies for success and also how to counter certain schemes.

It makes decent bathroom/bed reading. At least the one for NCAA 10 did ... NCAA 11 was a letdown (in terms of the strategy guide), and I didn't get much use out of NCAA 12.

The ZFarls (I believe it was) kept challenging me to play NCAA when we were in Orlando, so ... he's obviously a cool guy.

Well, my wife just pre-ordered the PS3 version on Amazon for me as a birthday gift! (She'll find out in her inbox later lol). Took the 99 cent release day shipping and it also goes to my brother's work place in Detroit who can hand deliver it to me as a gift. The one thing that worries me is that our entire immediate family is going to the Wisconsin Dells the weekend before to meet my brother's family from Winnipeg. We won't be getting back until late Sunday or Monday so my brother better get his ass in to work to get my game!

I'm pre-ordering it at a $45 price, so that if I decide to purchase it, which won't happen until release day, I will get it for $45. Until then, I can decide if I want to keep the pre-order or cancel it, with no cost to me. That will allow me to play the demo and hear about pre-release impressions, all before I actually "purchase" the game. At $45. Which you're not going to see at retail anytime close to release (NCAA 12 is still $48 right now).

I think that's a good decision as a consumer. But hey, if you see it as a waste of money, that's your call.

This game is also released yearly. Think about all the games that have been in production for 2-5 years that have completely flopped. Heck, Too Human was in production for almost 10 years, and it turned out to be terrible. Yes, 12 may have not been "perfect" but what game is? I dare say you will never find a perfect game out there. Humans are not perfect, therefore they cannot make perfect games.

However, I can always understand someone's disappointment in a product, but I am sure the masses who love college football, and love the game of football will purchase NCAA Football 13. It is not because EA has people in the palm of their hand.

I dare say you will never find a perfect game out there. Humans are not perfect, therefore they cannot make perfect games. It is a well-quoted cliche in software that "the only perfect software is one that is never released". The reason for the cliche is two-fold. 1) Never released software can't have "bugs" found by the users; 2) Every piece of software could spend more time in development, more time in testing, etc, etc, because there's always something to improve or fix.

Oh, trust me, I agree with you. After the patches released last year, I stopped playing the game for about a month. That's something unheard of from me when the game releases. The game was almost unplayable for me. You're right, the patches they released almost ruined it. It wasn't until I found some nice sliders that I was able to get back into it. After I found those sliders, however, the game just became too easy for me. Recruiting and playing in the games on any level with all sets of sliders became a cake walk. Scoring 60 points became easy because, as you said, the defense "became as dumb as a 2k baseball game." :D

Nice you can take advantage of amazon.com with your brother living in the states. Let me just say that AMAZON.CA sucks! No discounts or bonuses. Even gamestop Canada isn't giving any promos/bonuses. Oh well. I guess I will be paying the regular price... but that's okay since season pass gets it three days early.

My brother doesn't live in the States. He lives two minutes from my house but drives nearly an hour each way to work in Detroit (it's close to 45 minutes to the border plus tunnel or bridge traffic and his work is 5 minutes across). So when he gets it and brings it home I just go over and get it.

Amazon.ca has some decent prices on used games in the Marketplace but it does suck compared to Amazon.com which sells many more items and has many more deals.

It just would be nice if every once in awhile games other than NHL would get some love in the Canadian marketplace. I was always an NFL guy Jaymo but I was in the minority when I felt both 2K5 AND Madden 95 were disappointing. 2K5 took a backward step from 2K4 imo and when I tried Madden 95 the presentation and line play was lousy after playing 2K4 and 2K5. So I read cool things about NCAA 06 and ordered it online from the US and fell in love. That was my favourite football game on the PS2. Just ahead of 2K4.

Correct Texas has no state income tax. Not sure if that means everyone is "paid less" to settle out the difference but it's nice not having it.

Kinda wish I would have waited for this deal, however reading more I see ya'll are saying there isn't a PS3 deal yet. I pre-order NCAA 13 about 3 weeks ago at Gamestop. I traded in 2 games (NCAA 12-$11 credit and FIFA 11- $7 credit) and then they gave me something like 10% extra since it was towards reserving a new game. So I think I got somewhere around $19 towards my trade-in.

Of course with those amazon and other deals you aren't having to trade in games so they are GREAT deals.

Yeah I've seen other people say they haven't received an e-mail yet either but Amazon is "normally" pretty good about their stuff so I'm betting it has or soon will go out. Also for whatever it is worth UPS indicates they haven't received the package yet and only that a printing label has been issued. Yeah, mine hasn't been shipped yep, still says shipping soon. Amazon already took for the $44.99 out of my bank account at 7:19 this morning, so I know it's gonna be coming. Most of my Amazon shipments come from Kentucky or Indianapolis, so I'm not worried about it not shipping yet.

It depends where you are. If they can't get it to easily you don't get the .99 this late. Same happened to me with a ge last year, couple people were still able to get it but I couldn't.

For new releases (out that day), my store in the next town over just keeps a giant stack of the games sitting against the wall behind the counter, still in wrapper. It's one thing if it's a month or multiple months later for a game sitting on the shelf, but when it's a game that is just being released that day, taking it out of the case and sticking it in a CD wrapper and in a drawer is fucking stupid.

That's a really crappy practice that your GameStop has and I would not buy games there even just out of principle. Even assuming you would never have a change of heart and take an unopened game back, as the consumer that should be your choice to make - not GameStop's.

Nothing definite but our speculation is that they'll be available for purchase sometime in the future, similar to how Tiger's pre-order courses were.

The Heisman pack is mentioned within the Heisman Challenge menu, so it's clear the 3 extra Heisman Challenge guys will be available at some point. I'd expect the uniforms would be made available around the same time frame.
