Big scare against North Texas. We turned the ball over 5 times and required a massive comeback but Arkansas State knocked off North Texas 58-52. Down 24 at the half, the Red Wolves mounted a comeback to rival the 2007 matchup of Arkansas State and Memphis. Scoring 44 points in the second half, the Red Wolves once again claimed another year of bragging rights over rival North Texas.

With a rebuilt offensive line in front of him, QB Jason Watson hasn't quite settled in for the season throwing 4 interceptions on the plus one fumble lost. However, he did connect on 26 of 47 for 613 yards with 8 touchdowns. WR Casey Brewer caught 8 passes for 216 yards with 2 touchdowns. Watson also connected with WR Chris Sims for 8 receptions and 102 yards with 2 touchdowns as well as WR Bryan Williams 6 times for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Red Wolf defense struggled allowing 563 yards for the Mean Green offense and not able to create a single turnover.

Arkansas State improves to 2-0 on the early season and next travel to face #18 Texas in Austin.
