EA has officially revealed Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
The follow-up to 2010's Medal of Honor was previously confirmed as being in development, and a logo was teased in Battlefield 3's instruction booklets. Now, the first details have been confirmed.
Official Xbox Magazine (via Game Informer) reports that Warfighter will be developed by Danger Close, the same studio behind Medal of Honor from 2010. The game will follow the story of Tier 1 Operators and will run on Frostbite 2, the same engine as Battlefield 3.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter is set to be released in October. More details are set to be revealed at the Game Developer's Conference later this month.

I actually liked MOH alot more than Battlefield 2. The campaign was great. It's only drawback was that it was too damn short. (that's what she said)

The usage of the Frostbite 2 engine definitely has me excited to see what it looks like. I still have the last MoH in the wrapper.

You should bust that one open. The missions where you are sniping are fucking awesome. Exploding skulls and dismembering limbs of ragheads. Fuck yeah!

Since it's a short campaign, I might just do that here soon.

The campaign was good, but the online part of it was just terrible. Another perfect example of trying to Call of Duty something when it's completely unnecessary. Considering EA sees this as at their Call of Duty style game, I doubt that will change. I just hope they realize they need to beef up the online...it was entirely way too bare bones last time around.

Definitely open it up. I enjoyed it much more than Black Ops and MW2 for example. I don't keep many games and hardly play through them again, but MoH is one that I have gone back to play through.
I never bothered with the MP, as I prefer SP for those games.....

I rarely ever change my mind. I may bitch about a game a few weeks after it's released, but it's more than likely because of the shady tactics of the random douches that play online rather than the game sucking(or in the case of BF3, developers patching shit that didn't need patched). I bitch about Gears every single day and I still love it.
I played 2 or 3 hours and I don't think I got killed with a noob tube once. :D
I don't like the game mode, though. Don't listen to my opinion, anyway. I'll get it and play it for a week or two and then I'll be done. There's no way I'm playing anything when Assassin's Creed III, Halo 4, and Black Ops II release in back to back to back weeks. Just for the record, though, I enjoyed it and I have no doubts I'll enjoy it for the week or two that I do play it.

It was a terrible choice of the game mode, the noob tubes were not that bad when I played at 5:00 but once I got back on at 9:00 it was an entirely different story. Obviously more people downloaded it and the noob tube is the first unlock but having what is esentially a "rush" mode from battlefield as the beta on a close quarter game was just dumb IMO.

Wow, I wish I could just play the beta. This game is an absolute mess. I've had nothing but lag and massive hit detection issues so far, which is a little baffling considering I didn't experience anything remotely close to those issues during the beta. People are even getting under the map already.
No wonder EA didn't send out review copies until Monday. If I had actually bought this instead of rented, I would not have been happy. How do you go from a decent and enjoyable beta to an utterly disastrous and unplayable full game within 2 weeks? As I said earlier, I'll play this for 2 weeks until Halo comes out and then send it back. I just hope they fix the lag and hit detection before then. It was literally unplayable when I was on earlier.

I've been watching some youtube content from Rivals, LevelCapGaming, and MongulFPS which pretty much sold me on not buying this game at all. I will say that all play BF3 and play competitively as well.
Not worth the money, maybe at some point for a few bucks I'll buy and play the campaign but not for online play that is for sure.
snoop - I'm the same way. I'll probably pick it up for $20 or less to fly through the single player, then unload it.

The campaign is horrific. The multiplayer is completely broken(it was fine during the beta...I don't know what they did between the beta and the release but they completely messed it up). Everything about it is just terrible. I rented it through Gamefly and I still feel ripped off.

For under $20, the campaign wouldn't be so bad as long as they patch all the glitches. And trust me, it'll be under $20 in no time.

I was close to getting the full 1000 on this, but I just couldn't do it. I put probably 50 hours into the beta alone and loved the hell out of it. Then I got the final game and it wasn't even remotely close to the quality of the beta. It was infested with lag, hit detection was off, there was a bunch of glitches, menus were terribly slow, the only good map was the one in the beta, etc... I had to restart the single player campaign twice because the damn thing kept glitching.
The only good news is that it bombed so hard in sales that EA will basically be forced to quit releasing such garbage and make a quality game, or they can forget the idea of having a competitor for Call of Duty and focus on Battlefield.

Honestly as much as I play battlefield I dont see much they can do it(BF4). Its basically going to be like COD year in and out same game just new maps.
They could improve the engine since this was the first game for frostbite 2.0 other than that, they can't add perks that would be a direct rip off from COD, how many vehicles can you truly add. They cold go futuristic or something to that effect, but otherwise same game new maps and updated engine.
To be clear I think that is just fine actually I would prefer just some small updates as its a pretty solid title as it is.

Also forgot to mention that several of the achievements/trophies are glitched. Lose, lose, lose situation.
A recent conversation with EA chief creative director Rich Hilleman sheds light on the lackluster performance of recent entries.
In an interview with Rock, Papter Shotgun, Hilleman expressed his belief that Medal of Honor could find a place in the market if EA is able to get the game right. “We don’t think its a genre problem,” Hilleman says. “It’s an execution problem. We don’t think Medal of Honor’s performance speaks to any particular bias in that space against modern settings, World War II, or any of that. It’s much more that we had some things we should’ve done better.”
He goes on to opine that leadership on the recent Medal of Honor titles wasn’t what it could have been. “I think a key part of this is having the right amount of high-quality production talent," he says. "And we didn’t have the quality of leadership we needed to make [Medal of Honor] great. We just have to get the leadership aligned.”
Instead of doubling down on the franchise, he claims that EA will focus its efforts in the genre on Battlefield for the foreseeable future.
What do you think about Medal of Honor taking a few years off?

Just finished this one. Here are my quick thoughts:
- I did not play online at all with it, so my thoughts are solely SP.
- I actually liked the story in this one and how they presented it. I found it to be better than the last few CODs I've played, but I have not played the last two in that series.
- Like IOU said, there are some bad quirks/bugs. At one point, I had to reload at a checkpoint in order to get my squadron to advance to breach the door to move on. They were content to stay in cover forever otherwise.
- The game does seem very uninspired. Nothing earth-shattering, no cool new features, etc. but I had fun with it. The first chapter or two was a little slow, but I thought it got better as it went along. The cutscenes were well-done IMO.
Based on SP alone, I'd give it a 6 but some of the bugs in the game are unforgivable, especially since the first MOH had some similar problems. It could have used another month in development to get those addressed, but the game didn't do anything to set itself apart from any other shooter IMO. I think the franchise is salvageable so hopefully they get things figured out behind the scenes though I'm guessing it will be years before MOH is heard from again.

Yeah I aimed a lil over the head and finally got past that sniper part. The Hot Pursuit driving part was a hell of a lot of fun. I am a little after that, and I hate trying to aim in the rain where it's kinda dark with iron sights. C'mon government, give me some infrared shit!
