Season 5 - Bowl Games, Deadline: Fri. morning

Congrats to everyone for making it to a bowl game.

Great season by all.

Arizona had a tough go in the PAC-12 title game. We we down by two possessions seemingly all game on top of star (RS) freshman HB John West going down for the game after just a few carries. That immediately hampered the offense but back HB Baker filled in nicely enough, the problem on this day was simply that Oregon was too good to contain.
I did fight all the way back to tie it at 30-30 with about 5 minutes left in the game but from there Oregon scored 2 straight TDs and it was over.
I guess I can't feel horrible about the season but the dissappointing loss to Utah in the last regular season game and then the PAC-12 title loss was not a great way to end up. I did lose to the Heisman winning QB from Oregon and very possibly the team that should be playing for a national title instead of Troy...
So with those two end of season losses we are relegated to the Alamo Bowl where we shut down a potent Oklahoma St offense and do enough on offense to win but in was a sleepwalk for the most part.
Who knows what the future holds for Coach Kerns.

San Jose State loses to TCU, as expected, in the Poinsetta Bowl. It was really a lot closer to start, and about halfway through the second quarter, TCU returned a fumble down to the 5 yard line, scoring eventually, to go up 7-0. After that, my offense wasn't enough to counteract theirs, and we constantly had bad field position. Still happy to of made it to a bowl game in the first place.

Memphis fights tough to the end and kicks a fg as time expires to beat PITT in the Liberty Bowl. Memphis finishes the season 12-2. Memphis Coach Easton turns his focus toward closing out the recruiting season strong and hoping to find that top QB recruit to take Memphis to the next level.

Talk about a stressful game! BYU faced it's rival Utah in what is known as "The Holy War". The game was played in a drizzle, which would impact things. I had a feeling this one was going to be ugly. The BYU defense allowed an 80+ yard run to open the game tO quickly go down 7-0. Approaching halftime, the Cougars were down 21-0. With starting QB Hurst not having much success, BYU turned yet again to it's backup QB. Things started clicking immediately, and the cougars entered the half down 21-7, getting the ball to start the 3rd. The BYU defense played a masterful second half, as they kept the Utes off the scoreboard. Down 21-17 with one minute left, the Cougars had the ball at the Utah 16 yard line. Garcia threw a lazer between 2 defenders who had great coverage to put BYU up 24-21 for the bowl victory.
