The Streak Ends!
37-33 FIU Wins
FIU came into town on a mission, and that was to take down FAU, they succeeded. The Golden Panthers came out on fire, and the Owls were making too many mistakes early on. The game was already 28-7 at half and 30-7 early in the 3rd qtr. But that’s when the FAU offense woke up. They started moving the ball, and scoring points. The Owls pulled within 10 points, then fell behind again by 17. But again the Owls came out firing and closed within four points, and got the ball back with under 1:30 left in the game, but the Owls luck had run out, and FIU made one last play to end FAU chances at a comeback. FAU dominated FIU in every category, but made too many mistakes. QB Kool threw 5 INT’s and that will not get you a victory. He did go 9-14 for 247 and 3 TD’s though. RB Jones had 218 yards on 29 carries and 1 TD. Overall the Owls just fell too far behind too quickly. They will try to rebound next week against UL Monroe, and a win with lock up the Sun Belt Championship, and possibly a BCS bowl berth, but that’s up to the voters now.

Baylor Beats #1 Oklahoma in Norman, 54-31

In a matchup between the #1 offense vs the #1 defense, RG3 had to come off the bench for a comeback win, he was listed questionable but came in after a Nick Florence fumble. Things were looking bad as Oklahoma jumped out to an early 14-0 lead, With the crowd roaring WR Tevin Reese silenced the crowd with his break away speed on a slant over the middle, along with 2 crucial offsides penalties on the OU def Baylor got back in the game 7-14. In the 2nd quarter both 99 ovr QBs looked unstoppable as both threw 2 more tds each, 31-21. The second half was Baylor's as Rb salubi racked up more than 100 yards and the Baylor Def kept giving out great field position.

Play of the game : A pass deflects off of Tevin Reese's Helmet into Terrance Williams' hands for a Baylor TD putting the game out of reach
^ this play is scary how similar it was to this:

This was a great game, had a blast. I never actually get to defend the flex and you burned me over and over again running the ball in the 2nd half. FIU just doesn't have pieces in place to run it effectively yet and the fact that we kept up despite being dominated is amazing. I got really lucky picking off 5 passes and was able to take advantage and score after getting good field postion in the first half. I did start to let off the gas in the second. That was a mistake as I watched my lead slip away. I can see this becoming a pretty good rivarly with the similair offenses, in the same conference, and going head to head for recruits...

Bowling Green is struggling to finish this season in tact. We had our annual rivalry game with Toledo, in the Battle of the Peace Pipe. It was a low scoring game, but the biggest news was that our new #1 RB, Jordan Hopgood, was lost for two weeks with back spasms. This will only be an issue if we back into the conference championship game, because we don't have enough RBs left on the roster. The CPU slotted LOLB Deejay White as tailback and he resopnded with 70 yards rushing and a TD. He also missed a key blitz pickup that leveled the QB.

BG wins 28-23. We finish with a 9-2 record, but disappointed we stumbled in our big games to lose control of the championship.

Ready for bowl week!
