Just have to make it one more week of this shitty CenturyLink internet.

Yeah, I am incredibly happy. The stupid CenturyLink DSL was down for 4 straight days last week, Sunday through Wednesday. It would go out completely sometime around mid-morning, and no matter what, the DSL would not come back on at all until at least 8:30-9pm at night. Absolutely stupid. And all that on top of it randomly going out for hours at a time off and on throughout the summer. I'm so glad to be finally getting rid of them.

I wasted my 1000th post in the Mom of the Year thread. This is post 1001.

I want to thank all the people (including YOU) who made this possible. You know who you are, and without you, I may have only achieved 8 or 900 posts at this young age.

I want to thank my fellow TGT members for all of the banter we have shared. When the day comes that I no longer feel that I can post at the level I demand from myself and make that inevitable decision to call it quits, it is the comraderie of you all that I will miss most.

A special thanks goes out to the EA Sports NCAA staff for giving me something to occupy an otherwise monotonous existence and for accepting my ideas for what they are. I look forward to expressing my thoughts to you for NCAA 12 and beyond.

And not to be forgotten are the lurkers of TGT. You log on, but never sign in. However, I can feel your support and I know you go to war with me. You are the reason I get up every day and post small nuggets of wisdom to be ingested, digested and excreted by the NCAA community. Thank you for being the greatest lurkers on the 'net. Without you, I'm nothing. What is the point of posting if no one will read it?

Lastly, I want to thank the ownership of TGT. You gentlemen have made me feel welcome from day 1. You spotted potential the in me when I was posting on the minor league NCAA community circuit and made sure that I knew that you would give me a chance to flourish in your system. I am truly blessed to have the support of the greatest ownership group of all the NCAA Football Community Forums. Mr. cdj, Mr. JBHuskers, Mr. gschwendt...you 3 took me from toiling in the minors to enjoying the type of success that a young man from Parma, Ohio, who grew up in the suburbs of Houston playing 2 player games of Intellivision Baseball by himself, could only dream of. You are the catalyst of who I am today, and I am forever grateful.

Yeah, took long enough, but finally done. :D My god does the web move now. On the DSL, it'd take 2 or 3 seconds for various threads on here to load up, depending on what all was in them. Every single thread I've gone into since the switch, a second at the most. It's just "click...bam, loaded". This is great.

I'm all for fast Internet, but since I don't download massive files very often anymore (other than on PSN), there's a point where my Internet is plenty "fast enough". 12 down seems to be that point.

I will say, I love getting channels I'm not supposed to, unless TWC is changing their packages and including extra stuff in the Digital Choice. :D I don't have the TWC Sports Pass package, which means no CBS Sports (which some of Navy's games are broadcast on), no NHL Network, no Tennis Channel, none of those goodies.

But I go up into the HD channels, instead of the digital channels, and what do you know, I have full access to NHL Network (been watching playoff games from this past NHL postseason), CBS Sports (watched SDSU and Air Force earlier, watching Army and Hawaii right now), can watch the Tennis Channel if I want to. So nice. :D Hello Navy football games on CBSSN this fall, hello NHL games on NHL Network, along with Versus this season. So nice. :nod:

Yep, it's mixed right in with MLB Network, NHL Network, NBA TV, and CBS Sports Network.

That's another thing, I give a big :up: to TWC for their channel order. In the HD sports section, in this order, they have Golf Channel, Speed Channel, Fox Soccer Channel, CBS Sports Network, Versus, NHL Network, NBA TV, MLB Network, and Tennis Channel. Every sport I love to watch and could want to watch, all right in a nice little row. :nod:

I updated my EA accounts from my old email to my new roadrunner email probably 6 or 7 hours ago, but I'm still getting the OD Dynasty Central updates and other EA emails on my old email address. I've gone through checking everything, my Origin email, my EA Player Hub email, even my email in-game in NCAA 12 all show up as my roadrunner email address. But nothing is coming into my RR account, they're all still going to the old account.

Long story short, I get to the club (think it was called "The Palace"). The only reason why I even went was because a friend of mine was hosting that night and asked me to come, so I obliged. However, he forgot to tell me that it was "Light her ass on fire night". I found out after the DJ started yelling it through the microphone ("It's light her ass on fire night! It's light her ass on fire night! Hey! Hey! Hey!"). It was at this moment when I realized I was going to need more than a few drinks. When it was time for the "main event", I cautiously made my way to the main stage wondering how exactly this was going to work. So my friend (the host) and some of the other dancers began applying this white foam-like substance all over the one dancer who so eagerly volunteered herself. It took about 15 minutes for them to do this. So finally, my friend pulls out this oversized lighter, ignites it and within seconds, the girl's ass is completely engulfed in flames. Keep in mind, she's dancing the entire time this is going on. The fire lasted about two minutes before they put it out, but there were no burn marks on her or anything. For a while, I was at a loss for words. The only thing I could say was, "What the hell just happened?" I had no idea what else was supposed to happen that night , but I didn't really want to find out. So I told my friend, "yeah, uh, I have to go". I then finished about three more drinks, and took off.

KARK meterologist Brett Cummins was questioned by police and released yesterday in what appears to be either a drowning or drug overdose death in Maumelle in which the deceased was found in a bathtub with a dog collar around his neck. Here's a link to the full police report on the incident.According to the police report, Christopher Barbour, the resident of a house at 16 Village Way told police that around 8 p.m. Sunday night, Cummins and a friend named Dexter Paul Williams came over to the house and "then began to drink and use illegal narcotics," which Barbour said were snorted. Barbour told police that after sharing a Jacuzzi tub with Cummins and Williams, he retired to a couch to sleep, leaving them there.
Around 8 a.m. Monday morning, Barbour told police, he awoke, and went into the bathroom to check on Cummins and Williams. There, he found the pair in the empty tub. After awaking Cummins, Barbour told police, they found that Williams — who was found wearing what Maumelle Police described as a "metal chain collar" and "dog collar" — was unconscious, with a discolored face.
After that, Barbour told police, Cummins screamed, then ran into the living room, where he vomited. He then left the house. Maumelle Police Department public information officer Lt. Jim Hansard said that Cummins returned to the house voluntarily and was questioned about the death there. He was never placed under arrest, was never taken to the station, and has not been charged with a crime. The investigation, Hansard said, is ongoing.

I mean, I guess, it could be fun for them, but, I doubt they really grasp the idea or reason they are doing what they are doing. It's just hitting a ball around or throwing a ball around to them instead of playing baseball or football.

Ya, by no means is it 'baseball'. No score and really no outs. For me it's more about exercise and learning the fundamentals. ...better than watching Ben 10 over and over. (which is cool cartoon btw. :D)

It was just a year or two later that we were talking in school about our own T-ball standings like it was the NL Central.

I know they really push Soccer around here, my boy is 3 and keeps getting notices about it. It's supposedly for learning teamwork and just overall interacting with other kids. I'd like to wait until 9 or 10 to start him in any sports.

I often thought that same pattern Eric and said as much up till my boy was 3 or 4 too. Then I realized that I was already out in the yard teaching him baseball so why not get him involved with a team so I put him into tee ball. Low and behold our coach was coaching two teams so I took over my sons team. I gotta say it was actually really fun teaching these kids.

You hear all the stuff about kids picking their nose, sitting down in the field, and stuff like that but after about 2 practices these kids were "getting it".

It was a little easier because I could use my son as a guinea pig and literally bounce stuff off him (like the balls) and not feel bad. We just did like Dr. Death mentioned earlier and just go over things and the correct way to do the basics. There is no outs (or score), in baseball till 7-8yr olds.

So I had 12 kids on my team, I had a friend help coach and we'd just break into two groups. One for fielding and one for hitting. Kind of funny, after the first practice i noticed so many of the kids were afraid of the ball. So me being the parent of the year told my son to get out there and put his hands up in the air. I took the ball and hit him right in the chest :D:D I did this 2 more times in a row to show everyone that it isn't as bad as they think it is. After Mason stood there for all 3 shots laughing on the 3rd one, all of a sudden everyone wanted me to hit them :D:D so I did :D:D To make a long story short I had 5/6 year old boys and girls and got down and fielded the ball or weren't afraid to field it at least.

Mason also plays soccer as well, he is a little undersized since I moved him up to under 7/8 year olds (Mason is 5 :D) but he is just as tall and loves to compete.

He is constantly asking to do something, watch football, go play soccer, go to the ball fields, wants to go golfing all the darn time, he loves racketball, he bowls often, he wants to wrestle on and on and on. Getting your child in something sports related young and allowing him to pick and choose what he wants to do is something he can build on.

The key difference is the over zealous parents getting in the way and stuffing this stuff down their childrens throat. And for that matter the umps, or other coaches or other teams too.
