my mom needs a hearing aid. i supposedly got a call from capital one's fraud department regarding fraudulant charges from my xbox account getting hacked. she writes down the number and i call it as soon as i get home from work.

when i called that number though, there's some short little voice message thats played, telling me to call a different number instead. so i call that new number that voice message said, and it turns out to be a phone sex hotline.

i get on capital one's website and find out the fraud department's number was different than the one she wrote down in the first place. :fp:

Well I did take today off, went in for an hour then said screw it and came home lol. Time to play some idiots online

So CSX just made me a fan today. And with the help of CSX, I got to give a bunch of people the proverbial middle finger. :D

I came up to a railroad crossing with all the gates down where CSX had a bunch of machines working on the tracks. I was the only car on my side of the tracks, and a line of 8 or 10 cars and trucks on the other side of the tracks. There was a lone CSX guy standing in the middle of the road at the tracks with radio in hand talking with the guy in the lead machine. After about a minute of sitting at the crossing, this guy comes walking over to me and says "By law, I cannot tell you that you can go around the crossing gates, but if you were to decide to go around the crossing gates on your own, I'll stop the machine for you."

So of course I say sure, it beats sitting there for a minimum of 5 minutes, probably more with as slow as all 5 machines were going. So he gets on his radio, the machine just suddenly comes to a halt and stops, and the guy just gives a look back at me and I go ahead and put my foot on the gas and give him a wave and a thanks as I drive by. As soon as I clear the tracks and am on the other side, the machine starts right back up and keeps on going, as I go driving by all the cars and trucks and all the people sitting on the other side waiting, and forced to continue waiting until all the machines have cleared the crossing. :D

For the past month, I have kept getting popup messages every time I'd go into multiplayer in a game or into party chat with various friends saying "Your communication privileges are currently restricted." I couldn't talk to anyone who wasn't on my friends list, and I could not send messages to anyone not on my friends list. Also, for the demo, trying to share it for the Pro Combat unis, and then in the retail game today, trying to access Online Dynasty, every time, I'd get a popup saying "Your Gamer Profile does not have the correct permissions to access this feature."

I was starting to get pissed because I had bought the Commish Bundle DLC so I can run a couple different single player Online Dynasties, as well as take advantage of some of the new online capabilities, as well as continue taking advantage of Dynasty Wire (it's there, so why not use it?). I bought the Commish Bundle DLC this morning hours before my game ever even arrived from UPS. So I was starting to get pissed that I had the bundle sitting there waiting to be put to use, and I couldn't access Online Dynasty at all.

All of this, for the past month. I was thinking this entire time that for some reason, I had been communications suspended by Xbox Live for whatever reason. It wasn't until today, since I couldn't access Online Dynasty at all, that I started looking into stuff and searching the web, if anything, trying to find a way to see how long this supposed communications suspension was set to last. After seeing, and thereafter remembering, that you get a notice when you first sign into Xbox Live after being suspended as well as receive an email, neither of which I had ever received, I started to think that maybe I wasn't communications suspended after all.

It turns out, this entire past month of not being able to talk to a soul except the people on my friend's list, and not being able to share the NCAA demo to get my Pro Combats, despite dozens of tries, was my fault. I happened to be looking around in my account on my Xbox dashboard, and in the Online Safety Settings, I had changed Voice and Text to Friends Only back in early June. Now at the time, I thought this would just keep non-friends from sending me text and voice messages (since I had been dealing with some douchebag for a couple weeks sending me profanity laced messages every so often because he had some issue with me after me and a couple friends whooped his ass in COD one night) but looking back now, I now see it completely kills off any and all communications, both being received from other people and being sent by me, to anyone not on my friends list. Thus why every time I'd pull up the profile for someone not on my friends list, I couldn't send them a message.

So I just now when into the Online Safety Settings and changed 'Voice and Text' back to 'Everyone' and what do you know. I was able to share the demo to get my Pro Combat uniforms. I am currently sitting in the screen to create a new Online Dynasty (or join one) now that I can finally access the OD menus. God I feel like such a dumbass now looking back at all this hassle I've dealt with for the past month because of that one stupid little setting. :fp:

So I just now when into the Online Safety Settings and changed 'Voice and Text' back to 'Everyone' and what do you know. I was able to share the demo to get my Pro Combat uniforms. I am currently sitting in the screen to create a new Online Dynasty (or join one) now that I can finally access the OD menus. God I feel like such a dumbass now looking back at all this hassle I've dealt with for the past month because of that one stupid little setting. :fp:

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has gone through that. :D Yeah, I seriously thought Xbox Live had suspended my communications privileges or something for some reason. I was starting to get really worried when I tried to get into Online Dynasty today because if I couldn't get in to that menu, I wouldn't be able to join the Coach Mode OD. The pro combats from the demo, I wasn't too concerned about. If it really had been something done by Xbox Live, I could just get the unis from the demo when the issue on my account was lifted.

Looking back now, at all the hassle I put myself through between trying to get the demo to share do I could get the unis, and then today with the Online Dynasty and starting to really worry that I might not be able to get into the OD section of the game to join our Coach Mode OD, I really felt stupid and can't help but shake my head at myself now. :smh: At least the issue is fixed, though I agree, that is very strange and annoying. Just glad I found the problem and was able to get it taken care of before we start up the OD, instead of sitting here and continuing wondering if it was something done through Xbox Live and when the hell it was ever going to go away, since it had been over a month since that issue started up after making those changes.

I'll take at least partial credit for that... I was playing games last night while the thread erupted and then this morning I was half busy working and half just avoiding that section that I didn't really look at it much. But once the afternoon kicked in and I stepped in there a few more times only to see it was all pointless, I shut it down. Needless to say I don't expect it to continue again like that, certainly not more than an overnight of it.

I'll take at least partial credit for that... I was playing games last night while the thread erupted and then this morning I was half busy working and half just avoiding that section that I didn't really look at it much. But once the afternoon kicked in and I stepped in there a few more times only to see it was all pointless, I shut it down. Needless to say I don't expect it to continue again like that, certainly not more than an overnight of it.

The only other person we've banned was a guy that was selling steelerfan's rosters on eBay... we learned that he was registered here and needless to say he was permanently gone thereafter.

Yeah, I was reading through some of that stuff from the overnight posters in there and just shaking my head. Some of it gave me a laugh just because it was so random, but man, that just completely degenerated from the original thread, and in a hurry. I definitely was not the least bit surprised when I saw in the afternoon that it had been closed. And then I saw the other stupid threads that were being created, and yeah, I knew the situation was hitting rock bottom.

Ah, I think I remember reading about that in some thread. I at least remember reading some post mentioning something about steerlerfan's rosters and eBay, but I never realized that douche selling them was a member here. So yeah, besides that guy, to become the first person banned in the 14 month history of TGT, all because of your posts you had made, that dude definitely did whatever it took to deserve it. You guys have always been extremely lenient over the months with stuff, usually just a simple warning in red being enough to settle any issues with members. But man, to go and get yourself banned, especially here, you know you screwed up big time.

I actually credit the members here as a major reason why we haven't had to dole out the ban hammer... you guys are usually good about keeping other members in check and all in all a well-rounded group. Yeah, I've been the head admin at a site since August 2006 and I know what kind of hell you guys can deal with sometime when crap like this OS stuff comes around. So I definitely try to help out the new guys as best I can to keep them straight and from crossing the bad paths with you guys. Definitely every little bit helps.

I was one of those wicked OS Mods, actually I ran the forums for Steve. They say I was a touch quick with the ban and locked a thread so fast your head would swim.

As for me leaving OS, it was quite a few years ago. There was an annoyance in dealing with ungrateful pricks (both on the staff and it's members), far too much personal time spent there and a thread full of porn to ensure I would never be invited back.

Back in the day it was a lot like this place. Things change, people wanted to take it a different direction and it became less of a place to discuss our hobby and screw around during the work day and more of an attempt to become the IGN of sports games.

I think I remember your post now. Like I said, WAAAY too many new names recently for me to keep up with. :D Yeah, I honestly don't think I have ever created an account at OS, and if I did, I can't remember. I've lurked there from time to time just trying to find specific information about something in a game (NHL, NBA 2K, etc), so I have never known anything regarding the history of OS or it's members/mods. But regardless of how you were or what you were like during your time as one of those "wicked OS Mods", lol, you've seemed pretty cool over here. Sensible and good posts and replies, so you're good in my book.

Now if only all those idiots in the Gator/Buck roster thread from the past 24 hours behaved better.

it can be, but like the couple of threads that i remembered seeing were the dreadlocks thread and the broadcast cam thread (i think this was for ncaa11). both of them reached close to like 100 pages and were filled with people going insane and how they werent gonna buy the next ncaa game if these items werent in the game.

i understand having a passion for this game, but to completely base a decision of not buying the game, all because of a hairstyle or a camera angle is rediculous, imo.

Yep. Thank god G was able to get in there before it got past page 2 or 3 and issue a general warning about keeping the thread on topic. Even though it's still stupid and rather pathetic, at least maybe this time they'll actually talk about the rosters and not going into another retarded pornstars, wolfpack, and whatever else stupid crap were the topics in the original rosters thread.
