No. But it will slowly change the societal perception of dolls being for girls and action figures being for boys or trucks and cars being for boys and stuffed animals being for girls.

I never played with dolls. I had a teddy bear but threw it out the window of a moving car. Boys and Girls are different, why is it so hard for people to understand such a simple concept? My biggest problem is with the feminists who go apeshit anytime they see a girl purchase something pink or a Barbie instead of buying Lego's or something black. They are the grandest of the hypocrites as they try to mold females into something they think a girl should be, which is basically a man with a vagina. I think most parents let their kids make choices about what they want to wear and play with. Within reason of course.

One could easily flip the question around with saying what it is wrong with having a boys isle and a girls isle? Nobody is preventing kids from going into the other isle. All stores are doing is providing an easy way to find toys that tend to sell to specific genders. They do not force a doll upon a girl or Lego's on a boy. When do they stop? We have separate boys/girls clothing and footware sections. Are we not creating the same societal perception of dresses being for girls and pocket shirts being for boys? Should that change in your mind? I guess scientists should focus all their efforts on genetics and work towards the grand solution of making all babies born as hermaphrodites. Dicks and Vaginas for everyone.

That is a tough one, if they are playing the publisher's copy of the book on audio on the video then they have a problem. Alright, resident law people/CLW, I have a law question regarding online videos and published books being read during them.

Say, for instance, a person decided to read an entire book through the course of several videos, would that be considered copyright infringement by the publisher/writer of said book being read? I'm curious because it seems like books are becoming the 3rd wheel of copyright infringement issues (what with music, movies, and video games being the big three) and I was curious if there were any legal precedents based on written publications and online video of those publications or if it would fall under the same light as someone doing a reading of a book in a bookstore infront of a crowd and therefore be fair game for public showing (kinda like how it's fair game for people to watch videos of people playing video games).

There is the concept of "Fair Use"

the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;

It is NOT my area of expertise and this area of law is RAPIDLY changing every day with technology advancing and law always trying to catch up with the technology. My advice if you do it, do NOT monetize it b/c you will be a target. If you do monetize it, you better pause take breaks and comment on your thoughts/opinions are so you have a "fair use" defense.

In 1985, the US Supreme Court held that a news article's quotation of approximately 300 words from former President Gerald Ford's 200,000 word memoir was sufficient to constitute an infringement of the exclusive publication right in the work. While copying an entire work may make it harder to justify the amount and substantiality test, it does not make it impossible that a use is fair use. For instance, in the Betamax case (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Corp_v._Universal_City_Studios), it was ruled that copying a complete television show for time-shifting purposes is fair use.

Basically, I just wouldn't do it b/c your essentially asking to get sued.

Any one else having sleeping issues tonight ? I feel like damn I can't sleep . Watching Friday Night Lights season 1 pilot and playing ncaa 13 on ps3 since I'm too poor for 14 still with a trip to Florida coming in a week or so .

Nah. I'm pretty much always up this time of night. My hours at work are mostly evening/overnight hours, so I have my sleep cycle adjusted to as if I was working 3rd shift. Thursdays, I don't go in until after at least 6pm, when everyone has left for the day and when the network has minimal usage since my duties require some bandwidth intensive downloading of programs for us to air on Saturdays and Sundays.

Fridays, I go in at 6pm for our HS football broadcasts, usually not getting out of there until at least 11pm (after 11:30pm the past two weeks). Then I get up and head out the door at 2am for my morning show on Saturday mornings.

So during HS football season, I just shift my sleep cycle so I'm awake all night and sleep during the day. Sleep until 4:30pm on Friday, work from 6pm to 11pm/midnight. Come home for a couple hours, eat dinner, watch some TV, unwind, etc. Then head right back out the door at 2am, and have my morning show stuff going on until 8:30-9am. By the time I make the drive back to town, drop the station van off at the station and drive home, it's pushing 9:30-10am. And then I crash and sleep until sometime mid-afternoon on Saturdays.

The rest of the week, if I have to, I'll go in during normal working hours to work on stuff and get it done. Otherwise, I'll just stick to my night cycle and go in during the evenings. It's not unusual at all for me to be sitting there by myself in the building at 2 or 3am working on stuff.

Hence, why a LOT of my game posts in my coaching carousel dynasty ended up posted between 11pm and 8am. :D

Thus why I'm up now. Got done with football around 11:30pm Friday night. Went home, ate dinner real quick, laid down around 12:30am, slept for two hours, getting up at 2:30am and heading right out the door for my morning show. Got done with my morning show a little before 9am yesterday. We had a toy run with local motorcycle clubs/groups at Buffalo Wild Wings for our Christmas for Kids campaign. We officially start the campaign on November 1st every year, but we also do a toy run at the end of September. So I was sitting at Bdubs from 9:30am to noon drinking beer and chilling with the rest of my co-workers, trading war stories and laughs the whole time. Went home at noon, slept for a couple hours, got up at 3:30pm and have been up ever since. I'll probably end up laying down and dozing off maybe in the next hour or two.

No, it was more like the House is still butthurt about Obamacare being passed years ago, so even though it officially started and went into action, they still insist on holding the entire government hostage trying to get it defunded, postponed for a year (so they can weaken it and then kill it) or just straight up kill it. Instead of working on a budget, they insist on dragging Obamacare into it every single step of the way. Hell, it almost sounds like both the House and Senate for the most part agree on the House's plan, other than the Obamacare shit, which they've been playing hot potato with back and forth.

And while my family isn't personally affected by the shutdown, now it's getting personal for me because the Department of Defense suspended all athletic competitions at the service academies today due to the government shutdown cancelling travel arrangements for sports. So now Air Force-Navy (one of the biggest games on their schedule) has until noon on Thursday for this shit to end, or private funding to be found, or else it's gonna get cancelled.

And if that isn't a bitch, my tickets for Navy-Toledo on October 19th just arrived in the mail today. So I essentially have two weeks from Thursday for this shit to be worked out, or those tickets aren't going to be worth shit.

Concerned about coach's comments

Having read the article in the Oct. 6 Crescent-News on the Wapakoneta and Defiance football game, I am a little disturbed with some of the responses that Mr. Buti made.

His statements ("it looked like we wanted no part of the game," "our guys up front got knocked off the ball," and finally "we should be embarrassed by that performance on defense") was not something that I would expect from a coach. A coach should encourage, motivate and strive for extra effort from his players, not belittle their efforts with negative public remarks.

We saw the game, the Wapakoneta team is in fact just a very motivated and aggressive team which won fairly. I feel our team did as much as possible against them. Go Defiance.

A coach speaking the truth, saying TAME AS FUCK things like "our guys up front got knocked off the ball" and saying they should be embarrassed by the defensive performance in a 52-7 loss (they should be!) are suddenly a fucking issue in this country? That writer would have had a fucking heart attack if they had heard even half of the things I heard from my two different head coaches back when I played high school ball.

Oh, of course, I forgot, we're supposed to sugarcoat the fucking hell out of everything we say to avoid offending or hurting the feelings of poor little Billy, Timmy and Johnny. Heaven for-fucking-bid that they have to hear a truth and fact about how they played in a football game. They were losing 35-0 before they finally put points on the board, and even then still ended up losing 52-7. They ended with NEGATIVE ONE yards in rushing offense. They ended up outgained 414-260 in total yards. They fumbled four times (lost three) and threw two interceptions. In fact, the only thing wrong with the coach's quotes was that he didn't also say that the offense sucked ass just as much as the defense did.
