i went to the grocery store today and ran into a girl i went to high school with. she comes up to me, and goes, "omg, i havent seen you in ages! how are you doing?"

i'm really confused because i dont recognize her at all, so as politely as i can, i say, "sorry, do i know you?"

she tells me her name, and i say, "wow, you look different......in a good way." (she got a pair of bolt ons, and changed her hair color)

and then she said it.....the one line that was so incredibly obvious, i dont know how she didnt know what my answer was going to be

"so what are you doing here?"

after she asked that question, i just kind of looked at her for a second, thinking "did you really ask that?"

but i ended up saying this, "i'm getting ready to go on a dragon hunt with a bunch of people. we're flying to bulgaria in a couple of weeks and staying there for 6 months. you know that syfy tv show: fact or fiction. yeah, i'm gonna be a part of that show for a while." i totally made this story up btw...lol

but the sad part is....is that she believed me. :fp::fp::fp::fp::fp:

HOLY SHIT! Gonna scan me a Ferrari.my dad was invited to the PACCAR open house this past weekend. (paccar makes the kenworth and peterbilt semi trucks). while there, we got a private tour of the testing facility of how they go about testing trucks for road use, how long certain parts will last, etc....

anyways, they brought us to one room that had 3 of those 3d printer machines (each one makes a different size prototype model). they said they could literally build any prototype part from scratch, take it, and see how it'll look inside the trucks. the price tage for the small printer.......$2.4 million.

I'm guessing we don't see eye-to-eye politically, MVP, but ... honest opinion, are/were McCain/Palin, Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Mitch McConnell really in touch with the American people? Is ANY politician with any clout in their party (the Tea Party seems to have lost practically all clout within the right) actually in touch with the American people?

Personally, I'm not happy with the job Obama has done. But I'm also highly skeptical that anyone else could have (or will have, in the upcoming election) done better. And I don't mean in a "You think you could do better than me" challenge kind of way ... more of a "I think we're so screwed up politically that neither party will get shit done" kind of way.

we'll never know for sure if they could have done a better job.....imo, it depends on the politician's upbringing/surrounding community more than anything. if they grew up in an urban environment, they're gonna be clueless no matter what....whereas, the politicians who have some sort of rural background seem to have a much better track record of "knowing" what the people they represent want.

obama recently delivered a speech at CU- boulder talking to CU students about student loans and similar items. he had the nerve to say that he didnt come from a wealthy family and had racked up more money in student loans than the mortgage on his first house. what he didnt tell the students, was that he went to harvard law school. seriously, what 18/19 year old in this country, who comes from a median/low income family is able to go to harvard law? its situations like that, when obama lies in an attempt to relate to the majority of the country that piss me off more than anything.

oweb26
04-26-2012, 06:01 AM
I think in that case the school was irrelevant. Do u know how many people rack up more student loan debt then there first home? My brother did especially after he finished law school himself. So I get what he is saying about the entire system.

I agree with everything g posted in his last message. I don't think where they are from rural or urban as anything to do with it you really need someone who doesn't give a shit if he pisses off his/her party and does what is right but good luck finding that person?

Because this is about politics, I'll make my one (long) post and get out of it unless someone asks me a question or wants me to respond to something. It's civil now but we all know how fast it can derail.

Before I start, I'll make my allegiance known. I'm a very happy independent. I think both sides are right and I think both sides are wrong. I think the 2-party system is the best thing and the worst thing about our political system. It's good because it sparks debate and allow 2 viewpoints to be heard. It's HORRIBLE because people follow their side blindly, hating all opposing viewpoints by default. My wife is a Democrat and will vote Democrat no matter if the candidate is qualified or not. It bothers me to no end but there's nothing I can say or do to make her realize that an all-Democrat government is just as bad as an all-Republican government (too much power with no resistance).

Now, I don't think Obama is doing a bad job (Full disclosure: I voted for Obama). Where we were when he was elected, we were DEEP in a pile of shit and no one can just magically fix the shit we were in. And as powerful as we make the president out to be, we all know the real power is in Congress (as it ought to be). The problem is that Congress works with a hive mentality. Democrats want A, Republicans want B. instead of compromising and finding solution AB, they just don't do shit until they have enough seats to make A or B possible just by pure numbers alone. That makes all the fans of A or B happy but pisses off the other side thus making everyone divisive. You're with us or against us. Hello! We're all in the same fucking boat! I mean, take the "Buffet rule" thing. Would it solve our financial crisis? Nope. But if Buffet's secretary is paying a higher percentage in taxes, doesn't that seem a bit unfair? In the words of Chris Rock in Head of State, "That ain't right!"

But anyway, back to Obama, it's a little unfair to think that as president, he has to spend every waking minute of the day trying to fix America. He's still a human being and he really can't do anything without Congress anyway. And even if he does do something (like Obamacare), you then have everyone who opposes anything taking it to the Supreme Court. So basically, nothing can ever really get done because if it were McCain were in office, it would be the same thing, in reverse. And while I have no problem with disagreeing with Obama's policies, calling him a dumbass is a bit extreme. He's obviously a very well educated man who can sweet talk the panties off a virgin. Now, the previous president, that guy.......well......I have no comments but I'm sure you can guess what I'm getting at.

Anyway, this country is going to Hell and there's no way to really stop the bleeding. The extreme ends of every issue get all the media attention and get people all riled up and the sensible people in the middle are "socialists" or "cowards" for not taking a stand against the "evil" of the other side. Nothing gets done and when shit actually does get done, it's not through compromise but through force.

if we were just comparing IQ levels of the two, then yeah, i'd probably agree. but since we're talking about knowing how to run a country, bullshit. fwiw, i'm about as far republican as one can get. so i fail to see the logic at why people want a democrat in office, especially one who's blatantly shown he supports more governmental control in everyone's life. thats partly why i vote republican. i want to have the liberty to do what i want to do (within reason), i want to drive what i want to drive, i want to decide what kind of insurance is right for me, whenever i meet my future wife i want to decide what food i give my future kids, etc. the list goes on and on. imo, more freedom is a good thing.

I don't think there is one definitive indicator that says someone is ready to run or isn't ready run a country. I do believe that the republicans are as much in my life as the democrats are they are just better at hiding it behind the demos. Everything you just named are very extreme examples and is really the whole fucked up think about politics. They will try to scare the shit out of you to get there point across, I haven't heard not one time that I cannot drive what I want to drive, or eat what I want to eat. Hell there is even a restaurant titled "Heart attack Grill". As far as the Insurance business goes I personally don't believe in the government mandated option but I understand why its there.

What they don't tell you is the tax payers are footing the bill anyway on people without insurance, so if mandating (which it is still optional BTW) that people get the insurance or pay a fine for "repeat offenders" then I am okay with that. I have worked in that field before so I know how much it is abused and how people even refuse to get insurance through there jobs if its too expensive and just go get the free stuff again which isn't really free. I have even sold insurance where people have gotten declined for some of the most asinine reasons, because they fell out of some mathematicians risk chart.

The whole food thing is driven not really by any political party its driven by people trying to tell everyone how to raise there kids I can point out where Fox news has spread fear about foods just as much as I can point CSNBC. I think that's becoming a cultural thing that the news is just blowing up beyond belief. I completely agree with you on your sentiments though I refuse to let any letter of the law tell me how to raise my kids, be it I am a good parent or a bad parent they are my kids, as long as I am not abusing them I should be left alone.

I consider myself an independent mostly because I don't blindly follow anyone, for me it boils down to who I agree with the most at that time.

more governmental control in everyone's life.

imo, more freedom is a good thing.Since you mentioned control ... Boehner said today that CISPA (which passed the House today) was opposed by the White House because the Democrats want the government to control the Internet. From here (http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20120426/14505718671/insanity-cispa-just-got-way-worse-then-passed.shtml):

Basically this means CISPA can no longer be called a cybersecurity bill at all. The government would be able to search information it collects under CISPA for the purposes of investigating American citizens with complete immunity from all privacy protections as long as they can claim someone committed a "cybersecurity crime".
Does that sounds like more government control, or less government control to you? I obviously don't buy into Boehner's comment (but I practically never agree with anything he says), but either way ... CISPA bothers me on many levels. Wondered what your take on it is.

The fucking Media should also come with a warning label " those easily influenced should only watch for a 2 minute on, 10 minute off". Matter of fact, I'm tired of the Media all together. They can't report anything good, I mean I read on the web somewhere recently that some random guy saved some kids and teenagers from attacking dogs. This entire country is fucked, NO MATTER WHAT PARTY IS IN CONTROL, unless everyone is willing to negotiate on shit and work together. An entire all democrat government isn't going to work, an entire all republican government isn't going to work.

Enough of this our way of the highway shit by both parties, and enough of this shit by people voting ONLY a single party just because they consider themselves republicans or democrats. Officially, I'm registered as a democrat as that's what I marked when I registered back in high school. But when actually voting, I'm middle of the line. I vote for both democrats and republicans every election, because I vote for who I consider the best person, the best option to actually pull their heads out of their asses and get something done in goverment for a change, not who is affiliated with which party.

Until everyone in this country starts voting for who is actually the best person for each job, not blindly voting for someone just because of which party they're affiliated with, and until both democrats and republicans pull their heads out of their asses and start working together in Congress, this country is fucked. We're on our way to becoming the United Property of China with all the fucking debt we're swimming in, and everyone in Congress refuses to do anything about it because heaven for-fucking-bid that they actually work together with the people across the aisle in the other party and appear "weak" to their voters back home. It's not us or them in this shit. It's ALL OF US. If the US goes down, we all fucking go down, not just this party or that party, everyone!

Well boys, I think we're all in agreement, our party affiliations be damned.

Which, I really think, is how the newest political generation is going. More independents, more unity against the current political set. It's going to be very interesting to see how the future proceeds.

An entire all democrat government isn't going to work, an entire all republican government isn't going to work.Eh, an All-Republican government works, in so much as they can actually get shit done. I'll give them credit -- I generally disagree with their politics, but those guys know how to unite. All-Democrat doesn't work because they have so much power they don't know what to do with it. It's like Wile E. Coyote if he actually caught the Roadrunner, or Sylvester if he caught Tweety.

Well, yeah, they can and do actually get shit done, but I'm of the opinion one party should never control both halves of Congress and the White House. That much power to one party can lead to bad ideas and bad things being passed by the government that maybe shouldn't and most likely wouldn't under a two party Congress. The thing is just getting all these idiots in a two party Congress to actually work together instead of refusing to give and take with each other.

6001....

I wasted my 1000th post in the Mom of the Year thread. This is post 1001.

I want to thank all the people (including YOU) who made this possible. You know who you are, and without you, I may have only achieved 8 or 900 posts at this young age.

I want to thank my fellow TGT members for all of the banter we have shared. When the day comes that I no longer feel that I can post at the level I demand from myself and make that inevitable decision to call it quits, it is the comraderie of you all that I will miss most.

A special thanks goes out to the EA Sports NCAA staff for giving me something to occupy an otherwise monotonous existence and for accepting my ideas for what they are. I look forward to expressing my thoughts to you for NCAA 12 and beyond.

And not to be forgotten are the lurkers of TGT. You log on, but never sign in. However, I can feel your support and I know you go to war with me. You are the reason I get up every day and post small nuggets of wisdom to be ingested, digested and excreted by the NCAA community. Thank you for being the greatest lurkers on the 'net. Without you, I'm nothing. What is the point of posting if no one will read it?

Lastly, I want to thank the ownership of TGT. You gentlemen have made me feel welcome from day 1. You spotted potential the in me when I was posting on the minor league NCAA community circuit and made sure that I knew that you would give me a chance to flourish in your system. I am truly blessed to have the support of the greatest ownership group of all the NCAA Football Community Forums. Mr. cdj, Mr. JBHuskers, Mr. gschwendt...you 3 took me from toiling in the minors to enjoying the type of success that a young man from Parma, Ohio, who grew up in the suburbs of Houston playing 2 player games of Intellivision Baseball by himself, could only dream of. You are the catalyst of who I am today, and I am forever grateful.

Here's to many, many more poignant, thoughtful, literate posts and to a few mindless rants that the future holds for us all!

Thank you.

Zoo Caretaker Licks Monkey’s Butt To Help It Defecate.

Yesterday, Wuhan Zoo Monkey caretaker Zhang Bangsheng unbelievably used his tongue to lick a small monkey’s butt!

50-year-old Zhang Bangsheng used warm water to clean a small Francois’ Leaf Monkey’s buttocks, then began using his mouth to lick it, not stopping for over an hour, until the little monkey defecated a single peanut. Only after the peanut was defecated did Zhang Bangsheng laugh with satisfaction.

As it is understood, this small Francois’ langur is only 3 months old, and is the first Francois’ Leaf Monkey to be born in nearly 10 years at this animal park. The Francois’ langur is a rare primate from Guangxi and Guizhou and is amongst the nation’s most protected animals. Because it is so precious, the zoo gave it to model worker and high-level expert Zhang Bangsheng to care for and raise.

On the first day of the “May 1st” short holiday, Zhang Bangsheng let the small Francois langur enter the monkey exhibit for the first time to meet visitors so it can see more of the world. The next day, Old Zhang discovered that the little monkey had indigestion and difficulty defecating, and immediately became worried. Seeing peanut shells on the ground, Old Zhang immediately understood that visitors had definitely tossed peanuts to the small monkey, and the toothless monkey swallowed the peanut whole. If it does not quickly defecate it, it would endanger the little monkey’s life.

Because the monkey is too small, it wasn’t suitable to use medicine to let it defecate. The only way was to lick its butt, to prompt it to defecate the peanut, and so the scene at the start of this article occurred.

Any of you guys buy movies? I still buy quite a few (especially through Amazon Deals) but now I have dupes etc. and as i was going through my database, I am just wondering as I haven't really noticed that many people anymore that still buys them outside of Forums dedicated to it. I have a small Home Theater PC (HTPC) that I am currently upgrading , it was my first so I cut corners(cheap parts) to just test out how much I would like it and I can honestly say I am hooked.

Most women just have to ask a dude if he wants to have sex, and 99 times out of a 100, the dude is gonna say yes. That might turn into 75 out of 100 if the bitch is a whale or something, but to just fuck and nothing else, most guys aren't gonna turn it down, no matter how ugly.

Yeah, when I was 17 I was at work and went into the breakroom and this girl and guy were talking about some guy that had said some girl had raped him. Me and the other dude both agreed the girl must have been fugly, or he had a girlfriend and got caught because that was the only way a guy would say he had been raped by some girl. The girl looked at me and said, "so if I forced you to have sex with me you wouldn't complain?" I said hell no. She gave me her pager number( I am almost 33) and told me to page her if I ever wanted to hang out.

A couple weeks later my friend and I got back from the beach one evening and I decided to page her. We both honored what we had said. ;) (God she was crazy though)

Ahh, the classics never get old. Last night while flipping through the channels, I came across 12 Angry Men on TCM. I haven't watched that movie in probably 2 or 3 years (even though I own it on dvd ).

Then tonight, after posting a story I came across on ACIII, and including a little clip from Dr. Strangelove (as the article had to go and use the phrase 'bodily fluids', and my mind instantly jumped to General Ripper's 'precious bodily fluids' scenes in Dr. Strangelove), I happened across the full movie Fail-Safe (the 1964 version with Henry Fonda) posted on Youtube. Ended up watching it via Youtube on my laptop in full screen. I haven't seen that movie in at least 3 years, still as good as I remember it.

The 2000 live televised play of Fail-Safe (with George Clooney, Richard Dreyfuss, Don Cheadle, Harvey Keitel, Brian Dennehy, Noah Wyle, James Cromwell, Sam Elliot, basically a who's who cast) was also very good in my opinion, but I don't anything will ever touch the 1964 Henry Fonda version. That version was very well done and still a great two hours of TV, much better than some of what we see on TV and in movies these days, almost 50 years later.

No kidding, lol. It's crazy.

I've never gone to his Super Bowl party, but he has about 150 people over there and he hires a band and a bartender. I've even seen one of the local bartenders wearing a shirt that said something like "Cock & Swallow 5th Annual Super Bowl Party" or something like that. The "Cock & Swallow" is the name he gave his bar, lol. I've heard that he has a camera at his front door that goes to one of the TVs in his bar and at his Super Bowl party all the women have to flash their tits to the camera to get in. :D

That guy is awesome!

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/highschool-prep-rally/arkansas-mother-sues-district-state-constitutional-violation-son-113537254.html

Ark. mother sues district, state for constitutional violation after son cut from varsity team

By Cameron Smith

An Arkansas mother has sued her son's high school for cutting her son from the school's varsity basketball team, claiming that he was deprived the right of a full education because he was not allowed to take part in school athletics.

As reported by Arkansas Matters and USA Today, among other sources, Teresa Bloodman, the mother of a Maumelle (Ark.) High freshman, filed suit against the school, district and state after her son was replaced on the school's basketball team following a third set of tryouts for the team that re-incorporated members of the school's football team.

Bloodman's son, who is a minor and was not named in the suit, spent two months as part of the team after qualifying through two tryouts in August only to be replaced three months later by a member of the football team, as were nine of the team's 11 original players.

While those replacements might stoke claims of favoritism, the lawsuit filed by Bloodman goes much further, claiming that her son has a constitutional right to participate in school sports, as you can read in the excerpt from the suit directly below.

"…the deprivation of the right to a full and complete education which includes competition in sports and consequently athletic scholarships impairs John Doe of a property right guaranteed under both the U.S. and State Constitutions."

The suit further alleges that the sheer lack of an orderly appeals process for students who were cut is also a violation of due process.

While the case itself could serve as a watershed in how schools hold tryouts for varsity sports, the attorney for the Pulaski County Special School District is confident that it will be seen as groundless once it is further examined in a court of law.

"The simple issue here is whether or not a student has a right to participate in extracurricular activities; be it band, choir or whatever," Pulaski County Special School District attorney Jay Bequette told Arkansas Matters. "There is no clearly established right of parents to have their children compete in interscholastic athletics."

Give me a fucking break. :fp: If your kid isn't good enough to stay on the team, whether they have another round of tryouts to bring in the kids who just finished football season, then he isn't ready/doesn't deserve to be on the team. If this kid wasn't already a laughingstock around the school, he is now after this.

As well, I'm really getting sick of these fucking frivolous lawsuits. What's mommy gonna do? Sue every single college who doesn't accept Junior into their institutions? Sue the college that Junior goes to if he tries out for and doesn't make it onto a varsity athletic team? Is she going to sue every single employer that he applies to and decides to either not interview him or doesn't hire him?

Give me a fucking break. Kids these days are fucking stupid and their parents are just as pathetic. Guess what parents, the odds that your kid is the next Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Wayne Gretzky, or Derek Jeter is slim to none. Get the fuck over yourselves.

Edit - Oh yeah, memo to mother. Playing varsity on a high school team (especially when your kid is only a freshman) is not a constitutional right! I hope the judge laughs your ass right out of the courtroom.

I can definitely see an argument for favoritism, if 9 of the 11 players were replaced. Or that just says that the original 11 player roster sucked. Weird that football and basketball would be enough of a conflict that they had to "re-incorporate" football players.

But a lawsuit, especially one based on a "constitutional right", is laughable.

But Smooth, don't overreact. Y'know, until this doesn't get thrown out of court.

Well, it's pretty normal, at least here in Ohio. At my old high school, the basketball players who weren't playing fall sports practiced, scrimmaged, etc during the summer and fall, then when football season ended (either end of October if you don't make the playoffs or sometime from early to late November depending on if you go out early or play all the way through to the championship game), the guys from the football team who play basketball transition over to the basketball team that very next week. Plus, odds are the kid is still in the program, just as a member of the junior varsity (it doesn't say anything about he was cut out of the entire basketball program altogether), which would also be normal.

So from my view, he was good enough with the non-football talent to be "on the varsity" during fall drills, practices, etc, but once football ended and the basketball players who also play football were done for the fall and came over to basketball, obviously they were good enough talent (which seemed to be the case as well as my old school, the good/great/best players/athletes played both football and basketball) to knock out most of the kids who had been practicing on varsity. If anything, it was just giving the original 11 kids their chance to play their way on, instead of just saying "you 9 are gonna be on JV when the season starts", the coach held multiple tryouts and weeded out the players who weren't the best of the best, which is exactly what you want for your varsity basketball team.

Again using my school as an example, if you weren't good enough to play on the varsity team, you were on junior varsity and by OHSAA rules, you could remain a junior varsity player through your junior year. The only time you weren't allowed on junior varsity and so you were essentially required to be on varsity was your senior year. Other than that, you either played your way onto the varsity or you were on the JVs, it was as simple as that.

And as for the arguments I was reading in the comments on the article on Yahoo, I just looked it up on the Arkansas athletic association's website, the first official day for basketball doesn't start until October 17th (this past season), November 7th was the first official day of basketball for football playing schools. So while the kid may have been "on the varsity" during the fall, the August tryouts, etc, it was not an official spot as basketball season had not even legally started in Arkansas. It was just stuff like open gyms, drills, voluntary participation drills/practices/scrimmages, etc. So that puts a hole into all the people on Yahoo who were going on about how he had successfully made it through two tryouts and was still on varsity, only to get cut when the football players came in.

And yeah, that's one of the two biggest things for me. The first :fp: for me is the fact that this woman is actually suing and tying up an already backed up all to hell court system over a freaking varsity spot on a basketball team. Her kid's a freshman for crying out loud, he's still got 3 more years to work hard and make it. If there were enough freshman who came out for basketball, he's lucky he even had a chance at varsity. Some of these giant schools, the freshman automatically end up on a freshman team and at best get some bench time in JV games. The second :fp: for me is the "constitutional right" claim, which I agree, is laughable. Now I didn't study law in college, I didn't take any Constitutional Law courses, but I do not recall ever seeing anywhere in the constitution, through all the times I studied it in high school, where it's a right that a freshman kid be on a varsity basketball team, regardless of whether he's talented enough or not to even be there.

And as for her wording, "has a constitutional right to participate in school sports", first, unless I missed that part in the constitution, no he does not. Second, sure, he's allowed to participate in sports, but that doesn't mean that he's automatically a varsity player just because he wants to play in sports. Life is unfair, the kid better get used to it now. This BS lawsuit by mommy shows that that is one life lesson this kid apparently has yet to learn and he is gonna be in for one hell of a surprise when he gets to college and out in the real world, unless the kid knew he wasn't quite good enough and will put in the hard work, but it was mom (which apparently she's a lawyer in the town there) who was pissed off because "my son won't get a chance to become the next multimillionaire top draft pick basketball player because he wasn't on the varsity team his freshman year" and filed the lawsuit with that thinking in mind. Either way, in the end it's frivolous and I'm getting sick as hell of all these damn never-ending frivolous lawsuits that are doing nothing but backing our court system up all to hell and making legitimate lawsuits take forever to get through the system.

And yeah, that original post was probably a bit of a overreaction, but it'll be nothing compared to what I'll say if this BS lawsuit doesn't actually get thrown out and advances in the court system. :fp:

PNC Park guard loses finger, Pittsburgh cop injures shoulder in struggle with belligerent fan

By Sadie Gurman / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

A Pirates security supervisor lost his finger and a Pittsburgh police officer was hurt when a woman's refusal to leave PNC Park this weekend touched off a fight.

Rachel George, 21, and her father, Christopher George, 50, of Greensburg, face a preliminary hearing next week on charges that they attacked the officer and the guard, who was escorting her out of the ballpark during Saturday night's game against the Houston Astros. Each is charged with crimes including aggravated assault, conspiracy, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Tensions flared after Ms. George was taken to the park's security office for smoking in her seat, according to a criminal complaint filed by Detective Frank Rende.

As Pirates security supervisor Joseph Risher was escorting her out of the right field gate, Ms. George's unidentified boyfriend assaulted him and ran off. Ms. George jumped on the guard's back and started to pull him backward, the complaint says.

Her father joined in the attack, pushing him up against a fence.

"While defending himself, Mr. Risher got his left hand caught on the fence, and when he was pulled by both (defendants) his left middle finger was ripped off at the second knuckle and was hanging by a piece of skin," Detective Rende wrote in the complaint.

Mr. Risher, he added, was screaming in pain.

Mr. Risher said surgery reattached his finger.

Once in handcuffs, the Georges continued to be uncooperative, Detective Rende wrote.

Ms. George cursed and spit on him. As Sgt. Sean Duffy, who intervened, was placing her in a holding cell at the ballpark she kicked him, prompting him to use a "palm strike" to the left side of her face. He said he felt a sharp pain in his right shoulder while doing this, requiring care at UPMC Mercy.

The Georges were taken to the Allegheny County Jail, where court records show they posted bail.

Phillip DiLucente, an attorney representing the Georges, questioned the level of force officers used against Ms. George, who he said suffered serious bruising.

He said he has asked PNC Park to retain video footage of the area where the incident occurred and from the security office.

For the love of God, yes! While I've very rarely spent much time on OS, mainly to check out a couple things on random games (HC 09, NBA 2K, NHL, etc), the amount of ads they have on that site keep me from ever caring to stay around longer than I must.

Ads can be done if done tastefully. There's a storm chasing site that I visit, stormtrack.org, that has ads on their site, but those ads are small, well placed and tastefully done that they are not a hindrance nor even really noticed while on the site. But I definitely prefer the non-ad covered TGT. :)

Well, I don't even mind ads. I run a couple websites, so I can appreciate that these guys need to do what they can to offset server costs, and, dare I say it, possibly make some profit.

But two things have started happening on OS that make me scratch my head. One is that when I'm just casually browsing, a pop-over ad will start and I have to wait ~5 seconds to skip it. The second is that this weekend they've got some Mario ads on the site that run a video with sound. Both of those are incredibly, incredibly annoying. I have no problem with ads, until they actually interfere with my interest in the site.

I am amazed that pasta allows the posters to say what they say. The content posts are really disgusting. If you read some of the things he writes on G+, it's pretty easy to get the impression that he forms his writing and content to what gets the most views. So he'll give a compliment to EA or 2k, but manage to frame it in a way that it can still come across as a negative. So depending on your own view while reading it, chances are you'll agree with him. I like Bryan as a guy, but sometimes he'll drive me crazy with the way he writes stuff.

Now, the best part for me is that I know several people that are convinced Pasta is an EA hater. But if you look at the comments on anything that is remotely complimentary of EA, he's accused of EA bias and doing things so EA will continue to invite him to events (which, AFAIK, he has been to events in years).

It's kind of like how every fan base in college football is convinced that Brent Musburger is a homer for their opponent. Hey, whatever fits your narrative, bud.

I'm okay with the game discussions, movie reviews, etc. All that stuff is good. What I dislike is some of the posters who post racist comments, sexuality slander, etc. simply becuase someone doesn't agree with there stance on a VIDEO GAME. That is just silly and totally unecessary. On a personal note I have always found Pasta to be fair and pretty objective. It's the people who post on his forum that I sometimes take issue with.

The Entertainment Consumer's Association isn't a fan of CISPA, and they're taking to the Interwebs again with a call for action.

http://action.theeca.com/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=6067

Congress is currently debating the merits of two pieces of legislation, the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) and the Cybersecurity Act of 2012. CISPA has passed in the House of Representatives, but its cousin, the Cybersecurity Act of 2012, is still being debated in the Senate. We need to do all we can to make sure this legislation stops there.

The legislation amends and updates the National Security Act of 1947, which doesn’t contain provisions regarding cyber crime. While this law absolutely needs to be updated, this legislation is the latest example of Congress debating technology issues, while not understanding the full implications of the legislation they’re trying to pass.

Both pieces of legislation attack privacy by having corporations share your information with the Government under the guise of cyber security. It’s George Orwell’s classic book 1984 right here, right now.

Is Batman ***? Major DC Comics character to come out of the closet.

DC Comics plans to reintroduce a character as *** in a future issue, it has been revealed.

Co-publisher Dan DiDio previously said that the company would not change the sexual orientation of an existing superhero and would bring in a new one altogether.

But at Kapow Comic Convention in London on Sunday, he revealed that an existing character - who was previously assumed to be straight - will become ‘one of our most prominent *** characters’, according to comic blog BleedingCool.com.

Senior VP Sales Bob Wayne said DiDio’s view ‘had evolved’, comparing the shift to Barack Obama’s recent endorsement of same-sex marriage.

DiDio did not specify which character would ‘come out’ or in which issue it would be featured.

But Courtney Simmons, DC Entertainment’s senior vice president of publicity, told ABC News that it would be soon.

'One of the major iconic DC characters will reveal that he is *** in a storyline in June,' Simmons told the network.

There has been much speculation on Twitter about who the character could be
@JenWhy12 Tweeted: ‘One of the characters of DC comics will be ***, what one will it be? I hope it's Batman.’

@dnghia added: ‘DC Comics is about to unveil that one of its supeheroes is ***. Who do you think it is? My money is on Aquaman.’

DC Comics’ portfolio includes iconic characters such as Batman and Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern.
Batwoman, a DC favourite, made her comic book comeback as a lesbian in 2006.

Police: Group Staples Roommate’s Lips Shut, Tortures Him With Power Tool (http://lasvegas.cbslocal.com/2012/05/22/police-group-staples-roommates-lips-shut-tortures-him-with-power-tool/)

A group of six is behind bars after police say they bound their 41-year-old roommate’s feet with tape, stapled his lips shut, and spent the night torturing him with a small power tool in their Utah home near Salt Lake City.

Police believe the suspects were suspicious about their new roommate, who told authorities he’d moved into the house in Magna a week and a half earlier and had agreed to remodel the basement in exchange for rent.

“One of the suspect’s claims over the last several weeks different people have pulled a gun on him in the street,” Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said. “They believe (the victim) was responsible for it.”

Hoyal says six men and women held the roommate at gunpoint in their home starting late Saturday or early Sunday. They handcuffed him, put staples in his ears and chest, and used a Dremel tool to cut him, according to jail reports.

Police said the roommates struck him multiple times with objects including a crutch, a keyboard, a laptop and the butt of a shotgun.

“All night they tortured him,” Hoyal said.

The group decided at about 4 a.m. Sunday that the roommate might not be responsible for the threats, Hoyal said. They released the man, who reportedly fled to his sister’s house and was taken to a hospital.
