This is pretty much the best part of playing this game with a powerhouse team where you know you are likely going to win most, if not all, of your games if you don't play stupid. It's the SPECIAL recruits that don't come around every year at a position that pump me up and we go head to head for in our OD. This year there is a QB who looks very impressive on paper!
Brandon Schneider 6'1" 207 Speed = B, ACC = B, Agility = B, THP = B-, THA = A
With a red shirt year to develop this kid is going to be great in my offense.
On top of this recruit, the secondary that is interested in my this year is second to NONE that I have ever seen produced in a class. They have SPEED to burn, they are TALL for their position and their man coverage ability is pretty solid.
It is SILLY how much the 5-stars are dominated by WR's every year. I don't get the logic in doing that?

Oh man, that super QB has me at #2 and is in a non pipeline state (Colorado). What makes this bad is that his #1 is a powerhouse (Oklahoma) and they are going after him hard! I need to get a x2 on him sooner then later!

Just about every season I have one guy on my target list that is a must sign, generally they're these super-recruits (being relative to that school). For my OD as Arkansas State, I signed a QB that came in with 87THP & 90THA. He's backing up his true freshman year a RSSr that is 86/90 but next year will take the reigns as a true Sophomore. He's possibly the best passer I've ever signed in any OD all-time and considering he's at ASU, that's obviously saying a lot.

yeah, that is what I am talking about. Since I run first pass second this year, for me it is typically a HB. Javon Nash is the best halfback I have ever recruited and it is so fun to play with him. I think I have underestimated the importance of O-line though. My O-line is elite this year and wow, I can see them dominating by 3rd quarter. However, it's too hard to load up the board with O-linemen because I want the super fast freaks!!! LOL
WRs are a dime-a-dozen so I get ZERO thrill out of recruiting them. Awesome shutdown corner backs are probably the second best thing to recruit after a super HB. I am yet to see a single DE that can dominate a game like some of the default roster guys but if I do, I might say that a stud DE is more important then every other position on the field!

In agreement w/ you on the powerhouse team and winning (6*, in the SEC, nearly guaranteeing chance at SEC game & BCS championship). Also agree w/ those special guys you get.
Many seasons ago back in NCAA '11 brought in a CB in the low-70s but he had all the characteristics I'm recruiting for from the position -- high-80s SPD/AGI/ACC, PRS cvg in the mid- to high-80s and nearly matching MAN, w/ high PRC -- and he was absolutely dominant for me. Finished his career with NCAA single-season (Jr. year) and career INT records. Seemed to catch everything thrown in his direction and won the Thorpe award last 2 seasons.
More recently I'd decided to bring in a JUCO QB to be nothing but my #3 guy b/c I was "set" with a RS-So. starter (who'd looked fantastic in his RS-Fr year coming in late or in 3rd qtr) and a RS-Fr. #2. Season started and after 3 frustrating games I switched to the #2 guy -- who promptly gets INJ in 1st qtr of 1st game as starter. Reluctantly I dipped down to the JUCO #3 to lead us. I don't know what it was about him but he just fit in perfectly. Nothing special, very low-80s in throw ##s, and mobility ##s no higher than 84, and highest AWR of the three (which is what probably made the difference), but he was special. Mabye not the best QB I've ever had, but for his two years my offense became unstoppable. He was nothing more than a place-holder recruit for the #3 spot, expected to take some 4th qtr snaps in any blowout to ensure #2 guy doesn't get that (expected) untimely INJ. Ended up at the end of that first season with the JUCO leading by cutting the other QB I'd expected to be the starter and hitting the recruiting pool for a future starter. Worked out great.
Yeah, I love those impact guys like the CB who come in and make a difference like you'd hoped, but that QB was just maybe the best 'recruit' I've ever brought in.
