San Jose State gets their first win of the season! What a game! Navy, as other option teams, are either hit or miss, and for most of the game today it was hit.
We scored at the beginning of the game, with ease. I'm thinking to myself, 'alright, we got this.' Bam, Navy scores in no time. Our running game was pretty good, mixing things up with a few Jet Sweeps, and a backup tailback, unfortunately a few big sacks took that away from us. My backup RB, who's a senior, is getting a few plays here and there based on packages. It worked wonderfully, as his only two receptions led to TDs, and a key run late on 3rd and short proved his worth.
We went down 24-21 with 3 minutes to go. A steady drive brought us to scoring a touchdown, and Navy needing a touchdown to win with under a minute to play. I've always said, and have been told, the prevent defense usually prevents you from stopping them. That's correct, for the record, and a nail biter had us knock a ball down on the final seconds when Navy was in the red-zone, for the win!
I'm excited every game to see progress, win or lose, but it's nice to get that monkey off my back.
