With many members trading games with others or wanting to trade a backlog of games to save money, we are announcing the TGT Trading Post.


Some advice from TGT:

- Only trade or loan games to people you trust. Do not be afraid to tell people 'no.'

- Do not borrow games unless you plan on playing them relatively soon. This is intended to be for trading or selling games, not to replace GameFly. Eventually people will want their game back to either play, sell, or borrow to someone else.

- Establish return dates and policy. Determine an estimated timeframe for how long you will keep the game and when it will return. If games are traded straight-up, determine if ownership is included with it or if the items will be returned.

- Ship games securely. Ship game in a padded envelope. A tracking number is inexpensive and can help avoid lost items or the concern of whether or not someone shipped a game.

Use this thread to post any games (or items) you are willing to loan/sell or to request a game you are looking to play. Send personal information via Private Messages or e-mail.

Feel free to use this space to trade or sell consoles, electronics, etc.

Cool idea guys. Maybe even go as far as trade games with someone who both want those games and don't want the other games anymore (as other websites I've participated in do very effectively).

I think this section may need it's own sub-forum next to Other Games, so everyone who wants to participate can have a Topic where they list all their games and label which ones are out and which ones are available. They could also put prices if they are wanting to sell them, then people can just reply in their topics.

Probably need to wait and see how many plan on participating though.

Yeah, basically like each person has their own "Rental Store" which is their topic. You come in browse around and offer a trade or money if something catches your eye, it would keep everything a lot more organized and easier to sift through and keep track of.

I should have posted this before I took quite a few games to gamestop.Before using Gamestop in the future, I'd also recommend checking prices on Amazon's Trade Ins. They're not great deals, but they're usually going to be better than Gamestop.

Agreed. This past summer, I traded in NCAA Football 11 and Madden 11, got $25 from Amazon for them. Gamestop would have only given me $17 if I had taken the games to them.

Amazon is indeed the way to go. Oddly, I checked there and for some reason The Show isn't giving me the option to trade in but Nascar and NCAA 11 were?

If anyone is potentially interested in Fable 3, let me know. I got a 360 Slim to replace my regular 360 that has the disc drive going bad in it. Thanks to the holiday bundle, I got Fable 3 and Halo: Reach with the 360 Slim, both games that I already have. I've already given the download code for Halo: Reach to my friend, and am going to see if he wants Fable 3 or not, as I'll have to ship it to the other side of the state to him. If he ends up not wanting it, then if anyone on here wants it, I'll ship it to you, as I have no use or need for it with having my own copy already.

I ended up getting a slim a year or so ago for the exact reason as yours - my drive was starting to go bad and wouldn't even read discs half the time. Every once in awhile it would make this ungodly noise that sounded like really heavy gears grinding together. That's precisely why I bought the 250GB hard drive and now every game I buy is installed to the hard drive before even playing a second of it, which is something I would definitely recommend doing. I've read a few people who played it straight off the disc without installing and are now starting to have problems. Microsoft and their hardware. :D

You got it OU. I'll check with him here over the next day or two, whenever I talk to him next, and find out if he wants it or not. If he doesn't, it's all yours.

Yeah, I was doing that from day one of getting my 360. Every game I play, the very first thing I do is install it to my hard drive, before I even consider actually starting up and playing the game. I refuse to play a game on my 360 without it first installed to the hard drive. With my 120GB hard drive, while I was able to get a good amount of games installed, I eventually had to sit there picking and choosing between new and old games to keep on the hard drive or delete. With the 250GB hard drive, I'll be able to get some of those old games installed back on and actually give them consideration to play again when I'm just randomly looking for something to play with no specific game in mind.

Now I just have to hope that my disc drive in my old xbox keeps working as it has been the last 3 or 4 days. If it does, I'm taking it to Gamestop next time they have a console trade-in deal/special and giving them my gimped ass (but at least temporarily working when the Gamestop employees check it) xbox for the full trade-in price that they'll give me for it. :D Give them an xbox with a fucked up disc drive, and get the full amount of credit that they'll give me for thinking it's actually fully working. :D

I saw that Thursday. :D I was on the GS website just checking out something and decided to take a look at their trade-ins for the hell of it since I'm not really going to have a use for my old 360 anymore, and I saw they had that, and of course it ends on Christmas Day when none of their stores will be open, at least not the closest store to me. A shame they couldn't have had to last until today. I'm going out as soon as the Walmart here in town reopens in two hours and buying the 360 transfer cable to move my files from my old hard drive, and then my old 360 is getting boxed up until the next GS promotion.

GS has a promo until January 8 where you get an extra $30 store credit when trading in a 360/PS3, so while that isn't as good as $50, it's still nice. You'd be looking at around $70 for the system and the hard drive, which isn't bad for something that is near death. It'll probably be the last system trade in promotion until summer, so it's still a nice little deal to hop on.

GS must make a killing off people getting rid of their systems that are working perfectly fine. They're offering $100 store credit for a 250GB slim system with the wireless controller, and then selling them used for double that. DAMN.

A cheap, fun one on PSN for the little ones is Hamster Ball. I've had it for a couple years now and my daughter and I still play it (when she's not playing GTA IV, lol). Check it out, Eric.
