While I enjoy Black Friday deals, I despise Black Friday crowds.

That's why I do it all online. Best Buy almost always has the exact same thing online as in-store.

I'm thinking I might finally bite on a Kinect.

i would love a Kinect but there is absolutely nothing of value to play, for me at least. I am holding off until Tiger Woods 13 hits or if Grand Slam Tennis 2 supports it.

I'll bite on Kinect if it's a good price. Rise of Nightmares and The Gunstringer have definitely get my attention. Forza 4 for $28 will be a deal I hop on as well.

Just saw Best Buy has Kinect + Kinect Adventures + The Gunstringer + Fruit Ninja Kinect all for $99 on Black Friday. That's a buy for me. Fantastic price. I'll just have to pick up Rise of Nightmares and I'll be all set.

Yeah, it's a great deal.

Kinect + Adventures = $150
Gunstringer = $40
Fruit Ninja = $10

That's over half off. I'll just have to be sure to get there at midnight and get it early.

Does anyone know if Sonic Generations is any good? I wouldn't mind buying it at $29.99.MetaCritic seems to like it. I played the demo (if I'm thinking of the right game), and it felt very old-school Sonic to me. In fact, it felt too old-school ... felt like the exact same original game with the original map.

Did you get anything good in your purchases?Decided that the LotR Extended Edition Blu-Rays were worth it at $50, even though I already have them on DVD. Got a lightning deal on a special edition book I've been looking at that was way out of my price range normally. Nothing earth shattering, but I feel like it was a good group of purchases. Only one item was less than 50% off, and you can't go wrong with that.

Good for you, Jeff. Nothing wrong with getting $400 of stuff at that price.Thanks. Stupid me, I hadn't thought about the fact that they might put cell phones on sale (including pre-paid cell providers). I might have to hurry up and decide what cell phone I want. Other than that, I think I'm done for the weekend. But getting a $300 phone for less than half price would be amazing.

That's why all of the Lightning Deals are such limited orders ... so they can offer it another two or three times throughout the weekend. It does seem like there's a lot more variety in other areas, like Books and general Electronics, but for Video Games / Movies, it's mostly repeat.

I looked at audible.com a while ago. I can't remember why, but something about their way of doing things turned me off. The screen on my phone (Samsung Infuse) is bigger than the iPhone screen, so it's not a big deal to me to read on it. That said, I may have to look at audible again.

Bioshock 2 - $9.99
Rage - $29.99
Tiger Woods 12 - $29.99
ModNation Racers - $17.99
Numerous EA games (NCAA, Madden, BF3, etc.) - $39.99
Motorstorm - $17.99
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift - $17.99

That's been the strangest, and most frustrating, piece of this year's Black Friday ... there don't seem to be too many legitimate deals.

On the rare time that I buy a book that I'm not sure I'll enjoy (very, very rare that it happens), I can see using the app for that. But when I'm buying books that I know I'll want to keep, then physical > Kindle. And I say Kindle for the simple reason that I don't ever see myself reading on my phone ... not much real estate there.

I have a few books on my tablet through both Kindle and B&N ( depends on who is cheaper) and you guys have pretty much hit it square on the head. I was reading the latest George R.R Martin and the kindle, tablets, etc get old fast when you are trying to get confomy with your reading. I have both a kindle and a tablet and all I actually read on either one is the pretty much the books that are on Clearance that might surprise me or the ones that I know are one time reads.

If I'm stuck somewhere I can always read. That's another part of it for me. I'm pretty much either home, driving to/from work, or at work. Now, if I was like a lot of other people in the DC area and having to take public transportation in ... well, a Kindle would make a lot more sense then.

I think next year, I'm going to just wait on a lot of September and October releases, since a lot of them were $27 or $28.I think in 2012 one of my resolutions is going to be to only buy games when I know I'm going to play them. I've spent probably a few hundred dollars on games this year that I either haven't opened or I've barely played. Now, sometimes there are circumstances (like a certain pre-order deal) that make that worth it. More often, though, it's not. I've started this trend with InFamous 2 and Arkham City, both of which I want very badly but know I won't play right now ... and if I can keep myself disciplined, I can save a decent amount of money.

In the grand scheme of things, a few hundred dollars isn't much ... but it would make me feel better about my spending to pull that off.

Jeff, I'm with you, only I have the discipline, lol. I don't buy a game unless I'm going to play it immediately. Afterall, sports titles are the only ones that are really time-sensitive.

I wanted Dead Island when it released. But with Madden, NHL, FIFA, and Battlefield 3, I knew I wouldn't get to it. So, I waited to get it for next to nothing.

I may not get deep into it for awhile yet, but for $10 - who cares?
