I agree that it's boring after awhile. I'd have to problem spending $5 on it but at $10 I do feel a little ripped off. Oh well. Girlfriend loves it so it'll give her something to do. :D

I didn't even get your message. I was closing out Steam every 2 or 3 minutes trying to get the stupid right click to work in the game. That's a pretty huge bug to have.

So with EA creating Origin, will it work the same as Steam? Multiple computer connections, no expirey, etc. all the stuff steam has is also in Origin?

I truthfully don't know, but I just stick with Steam. Origin is a fuckin' virus (aka needing special software to uninstall) and it's a god damn headache to install to begin with. I specifically DIDN'T purchase BF3 because EA insisted on putting it out on Origin only. If they continue to do that, I will continue to not purchase their games. They either start supporting Steam by releasing their software on Steam, or I won't be purchasing it.

Hate EA much? You don't need anything special to uninstall (that I know of) I have uninstalled it once it I simply clicked uninstall, it is supposed to operate like steam but I haven't purchased anything through it mostly because there is nothing on there that is worth my money. I cant say I blame them for doing there own thing.

I am just thinking about the next Sim City and I suspect that it will not be available on Steam. It seems that now EA is all about maximzing their online profits.

When they attempt to do something that Steam does better in every way, shape, and form? Absolutely. Fuck EA and their money grubbing executives. They would have sold twice as many copies of Battlefield 3 if they would just suck it up and pay Valve their 15% to have it on Steam.

Agreed. I'm not buying anything unless it's on Steam. I've used Origin and I think it sucks. It does pretty much the exact same thing Steam does, but not nearly as well. Steam has an amazing user interface which is why it'll always be the go to client for PC gaming. Also, considering EA was throwing bitch fits about Steam and their massive sales, I think it's safe to say EA wont be throwing sales. You'll be paying MSRP for pretty much everything through Origin which is a huge turn off to me.

I was going to get BF3 but since it's not on Steam, I passed. The same goes for Crysis 3. I want that bad boy for PC, but if it's not on Steam, I'm not getting it for PC...that's for sure.

Fuck EA and their money grubbing executives.Yeah, because all the alternatives are totally altruistic and not doing it for profit at all .................

I'm not a fan of the Origin service or what they're trying to do, but executives being "money grubbing" is hardly a reason to choose one over another. You wouldn't be left with practically anybody.

15% of 3 million copies is alot of money. I can't say I blame them, I will agree it does suck and they rarely mark down anything which is why I don't use it.

They're money grubbing because they refuse to pay Valve their cut on the profits (something like 15% from what I've heard).

Taking into account the fact that games that go on sale by even 30% increase their sales two fold, EA could have EASILY made twice the money they currently made on Battlefield 3 by distributing it via steam instead of trying to get all of the profits through a proprietary delivery system.

Games like The Binding of Issac sell a million copies through steam by basically just word of mouth. I find it INCREDIBLY hard to believe that EA couldn't market their game through Steam at a discounted price of 10-30% and make a KILLING. Give someone the ability to buy the game for 30% what the normal retail places are selling it for, and you are GUARANTEED to sell more copies than the retail store will.

I was VERY interested in Battlefield 3, until I heard that it was only going to be released via Origin. I'm one of at least a few thousands customers that didn't buy BF3 for our PC because of EA's inability to play nice with a 3rd party distributor.

JeffHCross

I'll agree with "foolish" or "questionable decision making", but not "money grubbing". Wanting to keep all the $$$$ for themselves is pretty much a modern business mindset. Valve's no different -- Valve just realized that they could make extra mounds of $$$$ by being a distributor.

EDIT: Actually, since Valve is a private corporation, they have every reason to play more nicely with others and be less money grubbing. So I guess rather than "modern business mindset" I should say "modern Wall Street mindset".

It's FAR less than what they are paying for their own distribution service and servers to host all of their products.

Plus, putting their game on steam, they probably would have nearly doubled their profits compared to the sales that they saw through their own distribution service.

I mean, christ, they only sold 670,000 copies of it in North America (for the PC mind you). 670,000! They BARELY topped 2 million total world wide for the PC. That's ATROCIOUS.

Compare that to PS3 (2.24 million in NA) and Xbox 360 (3.69 million in NA) sales and you have to think there's a reason why people didn't purchase it for the PC and equate that to EA's refusal to use anything buy Origin for distribution of their product.

Black Mesa: Source (updating HL1 to Source engine) is finally getting closer to release it looks like... here's a leaked gameplay video that's about 4-5 weeks old.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-wfdgpCRXc&feature=player_detailpage

Developer's statement
http://forums.blackmesasource.com/showthread.php?p=474198#post474198
There have been too many posts for me to reply to individually, but I'll go over the basic points I've seen crop up a bunch of times. I'll try to address everything as transparently as I can, because there's a lot of misinformation floating around.

Is this a leak? Was it released intentionally?
We had always been planning to release gameplay video(s) as part of the social media campaign, and we'd always hinted as such. Unfortunately, we ran into some difficulties while we were wrapping up the build (including several severe FPS drops and crashes) that delayed our plans for the media campaign and any gameplay videos. Once we got those sorted, we started to try to figure out what we could show off; the video that was posted to YouTube was a rough first cut outlining some possible action.

Someone showed someone else something they shouldn't have, and that someone else decided to share that something with the internet. And here we are today. Bottom line is that sooner or later, you were going to see what you saw; that's why we haven't tried to cover everything up or get it taken down. There's no conspiracy, we don't have any ulterior motives.

How old is the build of the game?
The build featured in the video is between four and five weeks old. The art assets, level design, lighting, sound effects and music, voice acting, weapons, gameplay mechanics, etc. are all basically final. You won't be seeing very many changes between what's in the video and what's in the final product.

Is the music actually in-game?
The music in the second half in the video is the actual song from the level, it hasn't been overlaid afterwards. It syncs up well with the action because it's been designed to; the song was specifically written for this area. The audio quality of the YouTube video doesn't do it justice though, and it sounds like the game's music volume was turned up too high while the video was recorded.

Why are there iron-sights in the game?
You can look down the sights of the .357 for a slight zoom and increase in accuracy at the expense of your rate of fire. It was a mechanic that was present in Half-Life: Deathmatch, but we've brought it into the singleplayer to help solidify the weapon's role. We've added an option to the main menu to completely disable that functionality, as a result of the feedback we've received from the video.

The .357 and crossbow are the only weapons that you can use the sights on, and they're for decent gameplay reasons. We aren't casualising or consolifying the mod; you don't have regenerating health, there aren't chest-high walls, you won't get strawberry jam on the screen when you're hurt, etc.

Why does everything look like crap?
The compression YouTube applies has blurred and darkened everything, even at 720p settings. You lose a lot of stuff like the scanlines on the HUD, the stars twinkling in the sky, the moonlight illuminating the launch pad and the hologram illuminating the control bunker, any real texture detail, outdoor characters, etc. I've got the original video at 1080p, and everything looks fine.

Why is the voice acting so bad?
Everything is intentional; the soldiers are meant to sound like over-the-top movie bad guys. We're not interested in trying to get you to empathise with the enemies.

Will this affect the plans for further media or the release?
It has, we're actually going to be moving some things forward. Time has never been on our side.

I never played it before but for $14 I'm definitely interested. I love tactical shooters but haven't had one since SOCOM went down the drain.

I bought it but how does prepurchasing work? Do I just download it from Steam whenever it launches? It has a link on the receipt screen to "install games" but it doesn't do anything when I click on it. I assume you have to actually wait until it launches before you can start downloading it?

Don't have too high hopes for it... it's a good game but it's still old and the guys that play in leagues and show up on public servers toting AWPs (one-shot kill snipers) are especially annoying.

As far as installing it pre-release, generally a couple of days before release it will be available for pre-install. It will download 99% of the files for you and then on launch day you just download the small remainder. You pretty much just have to be looking for it though... no way to queue it up before it's actually ready for pre-install.

Don't count on it. Anything that's basically a BIG release by EA is only available on Origin. The Secret World is on Steam because EA isn't going to make shit on that game. It's a bad $15 a month MMO that's attempting to be a 2008 MMO in 2012 when it's only free to play and buy and play MMOs.

Wow. That indie developer is insane. No indie game is worth $20 and probably isn't worth $15.99 either. That's nuts to price an indie game that damn high cause it's sales are guaranteed not to be very high. $9.99 is the sweet spot for indie games that aren't trying to be big budget games.

If I'm understanding you correctly, yes, you can. I have a 2 TB external hard drive that I have connected to my laptop via USB. I have Steam itself and every single PC game I own installed on that external drive so I can keep my limited 250GB freed up for other uses and needs on my internal drive. Haven't had a problem at all running things that way. It may take a slight bit longer for Steam or for games themselves to load up, but if it does, I haven't really noticed it. It all still works just fine otherwise, like I have the games right there on my internal drive.

For my fellow RTS gamers, back on the 10th, a new Wargame was announced, a sequel to this year's Wargame: European Escalation, Wargame: AirLand Battle.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFSPfq2SlUk

Wargame: AirLand Battle unveiled in its first in-game teaser!

Today, we are proud to unveil in a first video teaser Wargame: AirLand Battle, the sequel to Wargame! Planned for released for 2013, Wargame: AirLand Battle will bring the series to a brand new dimension. Today's video gives a glimpse of the spectacular new features to come!

While the first Wargame made a splash with its powerful engine, Wargame: AirLand Battle will be the series's leap forward by bringing a level of detail never before seen in a real-time strategy game. The new version of the IRISZOOM Engine(tm) will display spectacular graphics with a wide variety of units, scenery, and impressive topography reproduced from satellite maps, all of which are visible in today's teaser.

Just like its predecessor, Wagame: AirLand Battle takes players through a series of conflicts commanding NATO and Warsaw Pact troops between 1975 & 1985 at a turning point of the Cold War. In this episode, war rages in Northern Europe, notably Scandinavia, whose architecture and magnificent landscapes are faithfully recreated in the game.
Wargame: AirLand Battle allows players to command all military resources of the Cold War era from tanks to planes. A total of 150 planes strengthen the playable arsenal of the game, from fighters to bombers to electronic warfare planes. Four new nations and their vehicles join the original eight from the first installment, making a total of over 750 vehicles and combat units rendered in realistic detail! Wargame: AirLand Battle also brings authenticity to the next level thanks to a new weapons system, better handling of fire effects, and a new Urban Combat Interface (UCI) allowing for battle inside cities.

The solo campaign is composed of several new dynamic campaigns, during which players manage all aspects of battle by leading each squad of the Theater of Operation and making good use of reinforcements and strategic support. Wargame: AirLand Battle still allows customization of armies in solo and multiplayer modes thanks to the 'Deck' system, which is now being enhanced with an integrated 'viewer'. Ultimately, each decision made will have an impact on the tactical outcome of battles and evolution of the global conflict! Prepare to re-enter the Cold War in 2013!

Yep. In the past, if I wanted to play a PC game, I had to go to a local game store, Walmart or Gamestop in the next town over and hope they had a copy in stock. Empire: Total War was the last game I have ever bought a physical box copy of. Every game since then, I buy on Steam or Amazon (when they have PC game sales). If it's not available on Steam or isn't cheap on Amazon, I don't buy it.

I haven't read through all 16 pages but if you haven't tried Company of Heros, you should give it a shot. I picked up the Anthology on amazon a few months ago. I think they have specials for it on Steam. Talk about a game where you can really loose hours. I've played it with a few buddies online, basically a "capture the flag" take over the areas of the map through battles. You have to build units and then you control their movements. It's a great RTS game. The campaigns are also pretty good as you can be either the Americans, the Allies or the Germans.

Here is the trailer for the game:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltsP-fePKFk

Here is a video of actual gameplay:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgMUAh9gK1o it would be nice to find some without commentary.

There are support forums for the game and some people have made more detailed uniforms, tank camp/paintjobs, etc... it's all pretty simple to add-on.

I'm excited to see the sequel http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/07/06/company-of-heroes-2-creating-an-authentic-experience

Well, my tastes are different from yours as well, but, coming from someone (me) who has pretty much hated every other MMO I've ever tried because they're a giant grindfest where you go kill boars in a forest, wolves in a forest, and then spiders in a cave to finish the "quests", Guild Wars 2 is a GINORMOUS breathe of fresh air.

The $100 goes to Childs Play if you're unaware. I think if I were a developer and were serious about my game, I could stand to put up a $100 donation. If someone was truly desperate, start a Kickstarter for the $100.

If someone was truly desperate, start a Kickstarter for the $100.I'm aware, and, as someone who has donated to Child's Play for the last five years, that's huge for me. But I also understand, especially overseas, that $100 can be a significant buy-in. I agree with you that there are reasons/ways to fund the $100 ... I just think, personally, that if the point of the $100 fee is to guard against fake entries, there are alternative ways to do that without negatively affecting the developers.

You are wrong there sir. There is MOST DEFINITELY an end-game. There are 4 pre-hardmode bosses to kill and 3 to kill after hardmode (WAY harder to just walk around in).

Hmm... I played it for 2.5 hours and didn't get much out of it I suppose. I tried to read up on it and all I could find was that you could build up your town so that others would come live there. I never knew you were supposed to kill any enemies, I just thought they were there as a challenge.

Haven't got mine yet. I've had one in my Amazon wish list for about a month and it just keeps dropping in price, so I figured I'd wait it out and try to get the best price. Although seeing the one you linked to, I'm tempted to get it. $80 is a great deal. I might just have to go ahead and get that one to use as my main drive and then just get one of those 2TB Western Digital My Book external drives for storing Steam games/music.

Finally found a game that I couldn't run on Ultra settings. Sleeping Dogs. I was getting about 15 FPS on Ultra, but damn does that game look good. Plays fine on High thankfully.

Pay what you want for Torchlight, Shatter, Rochard, Vessel, and Space Pirates and Zombies. If you choose to pay more than the average price, you will also receive Dustforce! And many of the games come with a breathtaking soundtrack!

Each of these DRM-free games work on Mac, Windows, and Linux, and can optionally be redeemed on Steam (if you purchase for $1 or more). For Linux users, you also have the option to redeem through the Ubuntu Software Centre. I have it but got really bored with it. I played it with my clan and they had played much more than me so it just became me standing around shooting whatever small demons made it through or re-sealing a door or some other small task. I'm going to post this in several different places so that anyone that could possibly want one will have a chance at it.

Arenanet (creator of Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2) is offering a Refer A Friend free trial for three people. The trial starts November 15th and lasts until midnight on the 18th. They'll be available to me to send out to people on the 12th (giving you plenty of time to download the client and everything).

I know most people here aren't too into MMOs, but this one is fuckin' fantastic (been pretty much all I've been playing for 2 months now) and, if you join, I'll create a new character and run around with ya and show ya the ropes. :)

If you want one, just let me know and I'll get you it when it becomes available to me on the 12th. There are only 3, so first come first serve (doubt I'll have to worry about that though).

Not sure how many other Flight Simmers are out there like me here at TGT, but if you are one of the many nice add-ons I've found is AirHauler. http://www.airhauler.net/

It's a cool company manager type add-on that not only allows you to fly your planes, but you manage the fuel, cargo runs, pilots in your company, planes in your fleet, etc...there are virtual airlines out there that are similar to leagues in NCAA or Madden but the nice thing about AH vs virtual airlines is you earn virtual money and can actually do something with it (i.e. purchase a new airport for expanding your base of operations, purchase/lease new aircraft to increase you range and fleet size, higher new AI pilots, etc...) it's a pretty cool add-on that gives you something extra to do.

As far as other great add-ons, I'm a GA (general aircraft) guy first. The big iron planes like the Boeing 737, 747, Airbus, etc are fun to fly but they are more about flight planning, flight management system programming and then once you take off you let the autopilot take over it pretty does everything for you and then you take over to land. This is how they do it in real life for the most part, but it can be "less interesting". This is why I like the smaller planes, i.e. Cessna 172, Piper Archer, etc...smaller planes that may not even have an autopilot system. Some do have them but a lot don't and you have to hand fly the plane either visually or through your instruments and tuning your radios (IFR).

I picked up these controls last year and it's been pretty damn fun! http://www.sportys.com/source/images/products/large/16797a.jpg That's not my desk just an image I found online of the product. It includes the yoke, rudder pedals w/ toe brakes, throttle quad w/ extra programmable buttons (i.e lights, gear, flaps, etc) and trim wheel.

I also picked up this little gem http://www.rogerdodger.net/diyflightsims/k172_ga_keyboard.html it looks pretty damn professional once it's all said and done, my wife saw the keyboard (picked up a cheap one at walmart for around $10) and said, wow that looks store bought! I smiled, it was easy to make once you had the template and materials list.

This is my lastest toy that is on order should be here soon it's called TrackIR.

I came across the game PORT ROYALE 3. I was about to download it onto my laptop when I noticed it was also on PS3. It's an awesome game and it's from the makers of the Tropico series. Basically the game is 99.9% the same from PC to console which is really cool to see. I love economic/trading/casual military games such as this Tropico, Civilization, etc. I'm glad to see Kalypso media made a cross platform game. I hope other game companies will follow suit. I forgot how much fun it is to play a cpu sim style game ON CONSOLE. Anyone else played this game?

Yeah... I told him he'll want to upgrade that video card as a first measure. That said, my research says that the 7570 is equivalent to the GeForce 9800 which was a hell of a card for it's time. I had that a couple years ago and could run most games without any issue, though I would have to tweak with the settings in most cases. That said, the processor itself will help out in a lot of games on it's own. He won't be running Skyrim at max settings but he'll be able to play GTAIV, DayZ, etc. at fairly high settings.

Speaking for me personally, I jumped on the Spectre 32" 1080p TV from Newegg to use as my primary monitor for $200. It will be overkill, but I'll love it in the process. I was wanting to find a 27" but practically all of those were more expensive... I figure what the hell, I can scoot my chair further back if needed :)

It's not so much the 1GB but more so the model... it's a mid grade model, though I imagine you already knew that. It's certainly better than onboard video but it's not anything to write home about in terms of today's high-end games.

Looking, you actually can't even purchase a 7000 series card below 7750 (both newegg & pricewatch). You can find a 6570 for $45 after MiR on newegg and it has 1GB as well.

Also of note, you can buy a 1GB physical card for as low was $20 after MiR or a 2GB for $40... anymore, memory with a graphics card isn't important, it's the GPU with it.

Looking, you actually can't even purchase a 7000 series card below 7750 (both newegg & pricewatch).I noticed that too. I sat on that post for a little while, trying to confirm that the 7570 was actually a card and not actually onboard graphics.

Just for perspective, the last time I had a working PC with a working graphics card was around 3 years ago. I believe my last card was a nVidia 8800GTS (or maybe that was just my last working card). My current laptop has 1 GB of RAM and my last working desktop (used only for browsing and the occasional spreadsheet) had less than 512 MB of RAM.

I'm fully aware those two machines are absolute crap. They're crap because I'm saving money until I can actually afford to spend it. But they are valuable for perspective, when JB's GPU has more RAM than a whole desktop I was using. It's just amazing how things have changed, where a 1GB dedicated card is barely better than on-board.

That's not enthusiast at all Jeff. You could build a PC with 16 gigs of RAM, a 2.5 gig Video card, a 2 TB HD, and a processor that's better than what Tommy and I have right now (AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz) for $500, easily. PC's aren't expensive if you build them yourself (as I'm sure you know).

Personally, I need to upgrade the RAM in my computer because I went cheap and only got 4 gigs worth and I can tell it's bottlenecking my performance. Though, while I'm at it, I'll probably upgrade my video card as well since it's a bit on the low side as well (currently Geforce GTX 460 Fermi).

You better have tons of time if you want something like Guild Wars. I'd recommend Diablo 3 if you like dungeon crawlers, but it's back up to full price after being $10 at the Microsoft Store a few days ago. Planetside 2 just released on Steam and is free and very good. Amnesia is another good one if you like psychological horror.

If your card has PhysX support, Borderlands 2. The effects are awesome.

If you like games that make you feel like it's work to do anything, than Diablo 2 and 3 are your games. I'm SUPER biased because I LOVED 2 when I was in college, but I can't fuckin' stand 3 (the classes and their skills are all *** as fuck). I hated Torchlight because it was too silly and Torchlight 2 seems just more of the same (though I haven't played it).

I would definitely recommend checking out some of the indie games on Steam as QUITE a few of them don't have console ports and can be bought for cheap like:

Binding of Issac (GREAT rogue-like indie game)
VVVVVV (AWESOME platformer)
Terraria (2d Minecraft, but WAY better since it's more about combat and less about just fuckin' around)

Then you have some PC only games that are just fuckin' fantastic, like:

Team Fortress 2 (AMAZING free FPS)
Civilization 5 (awesome with the expansion, but if you're never played Civ games before, you can play without the expansion and have no idea that you're missing anything)
Shogun 2: Total War (my favorite of the Total War franchise - really fun RTS)

Guild Wars 2 is REALLY great, but it gets old quick (coming from someone that HATES normal MMOs but played GW2 for something in the neighborhood of 200 - 300 hours in the first 2 months but hasn't touched it in nearly a month now).

Black Mesa Source (free mod)
Metro 2033
Team Fortress

Braid (on consoles I believe)

You could build cheaper than a Dell, sure, but a boutique shop like Voodoo or Falcon could give my own build a run for it's money, especially when you consider labor and reliability.

That's not enthusiast at all Jeff.True. I was both saying I could have G's PC and an enthusiast PC. If I wanted to, I could easily drop a lot of money on a PC. No point in an expensive paperweight though.

Well, for me, I'm insane and I dabble in quite a few things. I've made two different lvl 26 Engineers (the one I playing with my friends online as) and I've dabbled around with Outlander (currently lvl 4 or 5) and Embermage (lvl 6ish).

Outlander is fun. I REALLY like the aspect of dualwielding something and occasionally "executing" a double attack with both weapons at once. VERY cool stuff. The Embermage is interesting, but they really lack power until lvl 21 or so, which kinda sucks. The Engineer is clearly the beastly tank of the bunch. With my little healing robot, I basically never die (or really take that much damage). I'm going cannon build (the reason why I have two lvl 26s, the first one I spent points all over the place trying stuff out and kinda fucked myself once I decided what I wanted to do with my character) and using cannons in this game is fun as fuck. Combined with my embershield ability that blocks a certain amount of damage and then disappears, I'm basically a killing machine that rarely takes damage.

Only game there that I'm interested in is Orcs Must Die 2, but I'll probably purchase Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved and Audiosurf as both of those games are games that I've been meaning to buy as well.

Also, Wizorb for $0.74 is a fuckin' steal and a half. Great little Arkanoid-like game with some cool twists of the formula.

Afterfall Insanity made it's way onto Steam today thanks to Greenlight. Definitely getting it as soon as it drops under $10.

Question for those who have used Steam longer than me: would I be correct in assuming that the chances are pretty good that both Deadlight and Mark of the Ninja will be even cheaper during the winter sale? Also, I've been wanting to play Bastion...how often does it go on sale during Steam's seasonal sales?

gschwendt

Pretty much anything non-COD will go on a nice sale after 6 months or even less. Bastion should be available really cheap, $5 or less I would assume sometime in the not-so-distant future.

Steam is great for getting games on ubersale after a while. Basically the entire reason why I never buy a game when it first comes out.

It usually says on the store page in the right column, but you can also visit steamcommunity.com/stats. However, that site isn't always right from what I've seen. For example, it says Assassin's Creed 3 has Steam achievements when it does not.

The standalone release is supposed to be by the end of the year, or at least it was the last I heard. I haven't seen Arma go on sale yet, so I'm just waiting for the standalone release since I'm sure it'll be the main focus from now on.

Yeah, Arma doesn't go on sale very often (I think it went on sale briefly during the Summer sale, but, even then, I think it was only 33% off for the entire collection or something like that). It's mainly the reason why I haven't gotten it (along with the fact that I'd be downloading a game solely to play a mod).

Anyone checking out Planetside 2 yet? I've been meaning to, but I've been busy trying to finish up The Walking Dead (just finished episode 3 :( ).

The last blog from Rocket was that they were still hopeful for end of year release but possibly could push it back depending on testing of new engine aspects that were coming down the pipe this past week. Expected to hear more soon to know for sure.

FYI, indie game Don't Starve is $11.99 for two copies on Steam at the moment (not sure if it's the normal price or not). Game looks pretty deep already (still in Beta) for $6 if you have someone else to split the cost with (especially since when it hits actually out stage, it'll be $12 for one copy).

If you're looking for someone to split the cost with, I'll pitch in $6. I played it during the closed beta and it's very fun. I stopped so that I'm not burned out by the time the game actually comes out, but I really liked it.

Thanks for the offer, but I split it with someone else already and I watched a video of it on Youtube of two guys playing and it looked extremely fun. Just played for like 20 minutes and died because I adventured out too far, but it's definitely interesting. I was starting to build up stuff and was getting close to having log armor and being ready to really wreck some shit.

Yeah, it's pretty damn deep for a game of it's style, which kind of caught me off guard. The version I played was through Chrome and kind of buggy, so I'm interested to see any changes they've made.

Either of those would be fine. Really, anything above 2000 dpi is overkill. I have one that goes up to 4000, and it's utterly insane trying to do anything with that high of a setting. Number of buttons really shouldn't be a factor unless you actually plan on using it for a MMO or somethin' (and, even then, in my experience, it's a waste).

I was actually looking at something like that the other day, but the terminology they use(8 way directional) makes me think it's more similar to a d-pad than an analog stick.
