FIU came to town, my WKU defense just couldn't keep them from outscoring us.

We held them scoreless in the 3rd quarter and crawled our way back. Then we scored the go ahead TD and left 1:05 left on the clock. I guess we should have gone for 2, that was have atleast put us up by 3.

FIU couldn't be stopped, they ran up the gut and broke tackles then completed a few crossing routes over the middle to set up their kicker with a 37 yard FG attempt, which me made as time expired.

It was a close one.

WKU ready to advance.

Baylor traveled to Mizzou with heavy hearts. Before the game they learned their #2 receiver Antwan Goodley would be lost for the season with a broken arm, and their shaky D would be without their #1 and #2 linemen. 91 OVR Tevin Elliot's tailbone is still not healed, and 85 OVR Dominique Jones will be out 5 weeks with a high ankle sprain.

Dem Bears raced out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and seemed intent on avenging last year's 63-0 raping in Waco. QB Nick Florence went 6-6 on the opening drive and was red hot and throbbing, so to speak. However, the Tigers got a score back in the second. Florence then threw a TAINT and Mizzou was back in it. The offensive line was just that. Florence spent much of the rest of the game on his back or running for his life, as he and the line turned ice cold.

Luckily, Jacob Bennett put the team on his shoulders and run for 174 yards and a pair TDs. The defense forced 2 INTs and 2 fumbles as we held on to win 37-28. Baylor is now 4-4 (2-3 in conference), with a bowl bid in sight.

Also, we are using our confrence prestige and winning record to sneak up on a couple of WKU prospects. This week's win, plus the offer of Gold Club member scholarships should get land us high on their board.

MTSU Wins a Close One 44-38!

The Blue Raiders went into North Texas with a goal…To run the football. They achieved this goal with resounding success. They were able to rack up 566 total yards to North Texas’s 477. MTSU ran for 317 rushing yards against NT’s 40. They were not however able to stop NT’s passing game. NT’s QB was 12-32 for 266 yards and 3 TD’s. But this wasn’t good enough to stop the day that MTSU HB’s had. Pratchet rushed for 247 yards on just 19 carries and 5 TD’s, with a long of 80. His back up came in for a series and rattled off a 46 yard TD run. The game was back and forth most of the day. At first it looked like MTSU might run away being up 21-10. But then a blocked PAT, and a penalty and an unusual rule, gave the Mean Green the ball at the 1 yard line. After this score NT had some momentum and refused to quit. They just couldn’t keep up with MTSU’s rushing attack. The game came down to the final seconds as NT scored with less than a minute left to make it 44-38. They were unable to recover the onside kick and MTSU was able to run the clock out, and escape with the win.

After the game OC Coach Willard said “I was very pleased with the way our OL played and how our backs attacked the LOS and the holes. I think we have found something special here, and hopefully if we can keep it going we can have a special second half of the season.”

The win puts MTSU at 4-4 on the year. With 4 games left they could potentially finish at 8-4, with a bowl berth, which would be a great end for first year OC Coach Willard. Coach Willard’s offense has the fans in Murfreesboro excited about its football team for the first time in a long time. Next up the Blue Raiders will once again be on the road to take on UL Monroe. This will be MTSU’s 3rd straight road game with one more before they get to return home for their final two games.
