Actually, Larry wasn't even in the first season; you & I are the only ones that are still hanging around from that. I don't think he joined us until Season 2 or Season 3. Texacotea joined shortly after that I believe.

technically im a founding father...also with coaching contracts in whats the plan on that? and has it been confirmed (publicly) that conference invites are in the OD as well?

This should save some time for you as it should be quicker to do on internet plus people live through the internet so its more readily available...And if you like me that HATE defense and sim through it the game will only take about 30 minutes to get through...plenty of time for you...I sure you got more than 30-60 minutes to spare

this i have a problem with. Why play a dynasty that you only play offense in? I think you should play both sides of the ball

I understand that youwill lose games sometimes, but most of the games will be won and there isnt the chance of a "user" error

I really dont see what the big deal is...if someone is risking the chance to let the computer play, so be it...Its no different than when I play a human and they play with a DT or DE, what are they doing user skill wise to play defense? Nothing, they letting the computer play defense behind them. Just my opinion.

because if its anything like last years, simming the defense doesnt take near as much time off the clock as it would playing (hence all your 70+ scores) Im saying if we are going to play a dynasty then play it. No reason to sim stuff.

Plus you can look back on all my scores since i joined week 1 in the first season of SBCOL, I score a bunch of points in almost every game i play and last year was the first year we went to an OD format. I averaged over 40+ points a game since i have been here and have scored numerous times in the 50s and 60s

human error would result in points scored? I have alot better chance in winning a game if I sim the defense than if I played it. Its a fact.

Its no different than when I play a human and they play with a DT or DE, what are they doing user skill wise to play defense? Nothing, they letting the computer play defense behind them.If I start a play as a DT or DE, which I usually do, then I can change players to make a play. The reason I start out with a DT or DE is that playing in the backfield usually puts me way out of position. I can switch to a player during the play and be in a much better position to make a play.

This is a far, far cry from simming defense.

As well, as you said, that means you don't have to recruit defense at all. If I was in the league, I wouldn't mind you playing like this (it's your choice, after all), but it's good information to know.

Jeff glad you wouldnt mind, but his arguement is you taking out the human error...Well the human error is when you are manually controlling a player that has to cover any one of the skill guys...if you wait until the ball is caught by a WR to switch to that person anyway, what element of human play did the opponent do?

Yeah, that is what I about to say but you beat me to it, Tommy. If memory serves me correct I am came in at the tail end of Season 2, basically between seasons.

Im saying that it takes something out of playing a dynasty when all you do play offense. And I never play with a DL ever

Just to add to the debate... I love defense. I will play every defensive snap. But, there are times when I don't really care about offense and might be inclined to sim it... especially if my defense is playing shut down.

FYI: I was on all potential levels (Varsity, AA, & Heisman) with one of the teams from all four demos (Oklahoma, FSU, Clemson, & I forget the 4th team)

I don't think it would have looked very good for someone who got the game early from EA to do rosters during that time. That would give the appearance as though EA sent us the game specifically to do rosters (which obviously they didn't).

Along that line, does everyone want to just use 2-3 conferences or do we want to open it more like we did last year? Last year was OK, but we ended up not having as many User vs User games because everyone was spread out.

Compare to Troy. They're usually the best SBC team which is what we use as a guide.

Can I add my 2 cents about simming defense? Well I'm going to add it just because that is me.

I agree that you are eliminating the human error side of things by simming the defense. Your doing this not just because you are not controlling 1 of the 11 players on the field but because you are not selected a play to be called. Now we all know how well Corso's choices are and if you chose to do that I'd have no problem with that, but I can bet that after 1 or 2 games you'll start calling your own defensive plays which brings in factors like human error for bad decisions which we all make from time to time.
