So being a stay at home dad is making me $0.00 but I get to raise my two boys. My wife is a 9 year teacher so money is tight.
I haven't been back to Kyle Field for a few years now since I graduated in '99, I went to a few games with my wife who graduated in '01.
My buddy calls me on Wednesday 10.12.2011 and asks me if I'd like to be an usher at Kyle Field.
I fill out the application online and then they tell me I need to do a background check in order to work for the university. So I fill that out on Thursday. I tell them I can work this weekend but they tell me, well the background checks usually take atleast a few days. But if all works out I can probably work the next home game in 2 weeks. So I say ok cool.
I stay up until midnight drinking and playing NCAA 12 and then at 7:40am this morning my 3 year old is standing in front of me saying, "Dad, you phone was ringing." I tell him, "ok thanks buddy."
I check my message and it says I've passed the background check and they need me to be at Kyle Field at 8:30am for the 11:00am game vs Baylor.
I jump in the shower, wife drives me up to the HOME OF MY FIGHTN' TEXAS AGGIES KYLE FIELD where I proceed to get paid to help other AGGIES into their sections (sections 238 and 239) and I get to see MY FIGHTIN' TEXAS AGGIES BEAT THE HELL OUTTA BAYLOR 55-28 WHOOP!!!
I tried to take some pictures on my phone but since I didn't charge it last night I had a battery that was telling me it was going out. I was able to get 2 pictures, one of the team warming up and the 2nd of the team running onto the field prior to kickoff. Working on sending those pictures to my email and then I'll upload them here.
Great day in AGGIELAND WHOOP!!!
