UPSET ALERT!
UK comes to Bowling Green to take on the Hilltoppers. They go home limping.
UK takes the lead 14-0 at the half, the cussing was so bad on the Hilltoppers sideline that Head Coach Heinze's wife had to take her book in the other room.
We told the boys in the locker room NEVER QUIT NEVER GIVE UP!
We came out in the 3rd and scored 14 unanswered to tie it up. Then we outscored UK in the 4th quarter 20-14. We hit 2 nice FGs and then UK scored to take the lead giving us the ball back w/ 0:32 left in the 4th. Threw 1 long 81 yard bomb to retake the lead for good.
WKU upsets UK 34-28!
WKU ready to advance.

The third time is the charm for NC State. After getting disconnected twice after Baylor was moving the ball and held a lead, we finally finished a game. The NC State LOLB had 7 sacks and was regularly in the backfield untouched. More than once he'd beat the running back to the ball on HB dive plays. Baylor had no offense at all in game 3, only one of our four TDs were generated by the offense. Wolf pack wins easy 58-28.

To be correct, the first dc it was 0-0, the second it was 7-0 but on my first play, dc. I think there were like 15 turnovers. It was a really strange game.

Right. It was big play ugly all day long. Even in the two disco games we had 3 or 4 TOs. You torched me on a few wide open bombs where your guy just ran by all of mine, and I couldn't stop Mustafa or your running QB. We had no answer at all, and since we couldn't move the ball this was over early. Very frustrating.

The Volunteer faithful got to see their new and hopefully improved defense in a tough season opener against Amish's Bruins. The game was an absolute defensive slug fest in the 1st half as neither team could must much offense. UCLA struck first on a strip fumble return for the score. Unfortunately, for Amish that seemed to piss off the Vols back who ended up burning the Bruins defense in the 2nd half. The Vols stuck with the running game and eventually massive holes started opening up and the Bruins started missing tackles leading to HUGE gains. In the second half there were 2 50+ yard touchdown runs as the Vols #1 back ended up rushing for nearly 225 yards and 3 TDs on 24 carries as Tennessee blew open the game in the second half.
Coach Wyatt's defense looked pretty good in the opener forcing several Bruin INTs including one that was brought back to the house. However, Coach Wyatt was not particularly happy with the pass rush (or lack thereof) by his two "Bash Brothers" at Defensive End. Time and time again the mobile UCLA QB was able to escape the rush and burn the Vols with either his legs or throwing on the run. However, in the end giving up only 17 points against a quality Pac 12 squad in the opener certainly has Vols fans thinking about the possibilities this season might bring.
Can Coach Wyatt turn the Vols defense around to the point where UT is back to the glory days of competing for SEC and NCAA titles? Only time will tell if this one year contract will pay off for Tennessee fans.

Coach Willard has a great initial outing as MTSU's new OC. He drew up a great gameplan and his players executed it flawlessly. MTSU completely off powered their FCS opponent all game. His QB threw for over 300 yards and 4 TD's.
MTSU ready to advance
