Offseason thread.

Guys -

I wanted to start a thread about our offseason carousel. Last year was fun, but there was some confusion during the process about what was available and who would be going where. This is really just in the event one of us isn't available. I'd like to see us write down some loose parameters of jobs we want or would take if offered. That way, if you are missing, the commish has the power to accept/reject the job offer on your behalf.

For example, you may say you would take any 5 star program, or only a head coaching spot, or you'd take any team from a specific conference.

Its funny how this carousel works. I'm very curious as to what jobs open up for guys like CLW and ATM. There are some attractive jobs with coaches around the 50% approval rating. Just a thought to spark some convo. :dunno:

For me i would probably take a 4 star + defensive coordinator spot, or possibly a 2 star head coaching job if possible.

As far as the offseason I'm game for whenever. If I can't make it I'll just put mine on autopilot. Until I land the big coaching job I really want I'm not that concerned.

I'll try to find a day/time that works for everyone but if that isn't possible we will just go with what works best for everyone.

Sounds good to me too, I'll keep checking to see if I get "on the clock" otherwise I'm good to go. I'm not 100% sure how this thing works, do you get offered a job no matter what or do you have to have a decent year?

For the offseason, recruiting, position changes, etc....I'd really only like to mess with Position changes but if I miss that it won't be the end of the world. I'm game for trying to be online whenever works best for everyone else.

Big news from Baylor!

Carl Pelini has been hired as the DC replacing Phil Bennett. Bennet has taken the same position at West Virginia. His announcement came after HC Art Briles had his contract extended.

Maybe, we'll have a little more pressure and success with our D.

Finally, I'll be sure to take a look at my job offer situation. HC sounds nice (it would be my first head coaching gig this year in any dynasty I am in) but :San_Jose_State: sounds like a weak gig.

I'd need to see the actual contract goals and get a feel for each team's roster. Off of the top of my head I'd say a DC position in the best conference in America :SEC: is on par with a HC position at :UAB:


Semi-related note, do you guys want me to reallign conferences? I.e. move :Syracuse: and :Pitt: to the :ACC: and move :TCU: to the :Big_12: and :Texas_A&M: to the :SEC:?

The Vols has some pretty lofty goals for Coach Wyatt but he feels the defense looks to be good enough to be up to the challenge. Particularly, I am looking forward to those 2 80+ SPD defensive ends causing havoc in the backfield.

Coach Gerry Tarkanian snubs the HC position back in Vegas, as he still has pending litigation after last year's game. The ole ball coach also declined the OC position at Virginia, feeling it would be a lateral move at best. I am keeping my talents in Waco.

FYI - I am having bizarre issues with PSN tonight. I have an internet connection and can even get on the world wide web with the PS3 browser but I cannot connect to PSN.

I'll keep you guys posted but if I am unable to sign on tonight Roady you have the power to take over in my stead and just move on without me. I don't plan on doing any recruiting for the Vols at this point.

I think first you have to walk on, sign some waiver then try out. Then they should give you a helmet, pads, practice jesery, cleats, etc...make sure you bring your own mouth piece.

And GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT. GO GO GO DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE OTHER GUY!

Hey, I'm having big issues with my PS3 now. Just tried to turn it on this morning and it keeps going back to going back to the red button. I'm not able to get eny kind of image at all.

I'll try it again later, but this is kinda scary. Never had any problems with this machine before. Has anyone had anything like this? Great....

I searched for it online (google) they said try turning the main power button on the back OFF and then back ON, then try it. If that doesn't work they said to call Sony.

Yeah, that's what I've done. It's dead and I couldn't get the NCAA disc out either. Ugh. Upgrade time I guess.

Yeah I read online that if you can turn the power on and off really fast try and press the eject button on the front so you can get your game disk out. If else fails, and you HAVE to buy a new machine, I'd open on the case to atleast get your NCAA game disk back.

I'm borrowing/renting a unit now, so I'm back online. I'm going to try and pop that disc out again, but haven't had luck. I'll just return the entire thing and have Sony return it with the game.
