Gameplay
1. Fix the pass rush. For about the 5th year in a row, the pass rush has been almost completely nonexistent.
2. Fix outside run logic. Defenders should not try to undercut the blockers and go inside, but rather stretch the play out.
3. Run blocking, especially from shotgun, still needs to be improved.
4. Increase pass trajectory. Linebackers at the depth of 10 yards shouldn't be getting their greasy little paws on 25+ yard passes that have touch on them.
5. In one on one situations, the defender beats the receiver for the ball every time. This is because, most of the time, the DB will actually warp through the receiver. This has been this way every game this generation. Add some type of collision system while the ball is in the air so this doesn't happen.
Online
1. Get rid of the goon kick.
2. Get rid of the multiple disconnection glitches.
3. Madden has a stat system. Madden has HAD a stat system for years. NCAA ALWAYS had a stat system on PS2, so let's go. It's time this was finally implemented.
4. Ability to save depth charts for online games.
5. Incorporate the system Madden has. If someone disconnects, regardless of the score and the time left, they get the loss and their opponent gets the win.
That's all I can think of for now. I haven't played the game in months so I'm sure I'll think of something else later.

Gameplay :
Pass trajectory.
Individual man assignments, works well this year on Madden.
Pass rush, sorely needed.
Better defensive playbooks. The 3-4 books need work, and the 1-5-5/Prowl defenses need to come to NCAA 13.
I still don't think the spread option playbooks are fleshed out enough.
Revamped no-huddle to include subbing in different packages of players (same for defense).
Definitely would like to see an "hand-fighting" type of feature for jump balls between a DB/WR.
To me, the faster players don't hit the corner like they should, Madden 12 is the opposite. When RUN DMC his the edge, he is gone.
Online :
Communites.
Save depth charts.
Stat tracking (Shows who you played, W/L, streak, score of each game, AVG opponent level, Favorite Team used etc.)
Servers need upgrades.
ONLINE WEATHER. Either live weather, or change the weather settings, along where you play at.

Gameplay:
Outside running game is almost dead, I can ocassionally break one if I have a broken tackle. Most of the time I find myself running up the middle and able to rack up yards a lot easier.
The open field moves are almost dead at this point, I find myself just bobbing and weaving with the left stick. In years past I would juke to open holes and in the open field to get by defenders. This year I just cut with the left stick and try to outrun people, most of the time the defender wins in the open field.
Screens need to be fixed somehow, I either get sacked or have to sprint back 15 yards and then lob it in.
I would like to see momentum/size added in somehow, a lineman running in the open field should be able to destroy a CB if he gets a hat on him. Also 220+ lb rbs should be winning the battle running full speed against a CB more often. Blocking needs to be fixed, DT's are able to get to the QB way too often.
The CPU needs to be beefed up somehow, I have sliders and I'm still able to dominate teams similar to me and go undefeated almost every year once I get to a good school. I'm not really sure what to say about this as they need to be improved all around.
Online Dynasty:
Medical redshirts, too many times a senior has gone down in week 1-3 and out for the season and then he just disappears.
Someway to speed up the offseason process?
Presentation & In-Game Atmosphere:
Bands to have their uniforms (USC with the Trojan Helmets and sunglasses/Stanford band).
Sound of the crowd to be amped up and to actually make a difference. Right now most of the crowds sound the same weather the stadium is packed or empty.
Add more team cheers (Hotty Toddy, Rocky Top, etc.)
ESPN Gameday or somekind of weekly round-up. I remember this being on some old MLB game with Chris Berman.
Better celebration for bowl games/rivalry/BCS especially/and National Championship especially.
More cut scenes and just more pagentry overall!
Features/Other (including Online Play):
Offline Dynasty:
Medical Redshirts.
More coaching positions.
More coaching stats. Recruiting/Knowledge/Motivation/etc.
Ability to hire your own coaches once you become HC. A bunch of coaches have the ability to bring in their own coaches.
Better recruiting.

gameplay: give recievers more flexibility NCAA 12 feels stiff
dline more battling, oline pushes dlineman into the ground too easily.
give practice more meaning in dynasties- practicing plays on offense or defense could help with individual players composure.
special teams need overhaul-swinging door , rugby kick, ability to block punts not in the endzone. players actually stay in lanes not form a cha cha line following every movement of returners
modes - revamp teambuilder very good idea don't let it fall to the waist side, create a stadium, ability for current stadiums to transform logos for teambuilder teams
more uniform options. fix bugs in current system
environment-fix stadium sounds didn't work as told
please put logos on cheerleaders it looks goofy to have logos on field , flags and not on cheerleaders
ability to coverage audible just safties .
add more penalties especially illegal man down field , illegal touching, make PI more sensitive, defensive holding.

Gameplay-
-Improve Defensive Pre-snap Alignment (start by having the D correctly align to the strength of the offensive formation).-Improved Physics in Interactions (momentum, speed and strength should all directly impact interactions between 2 or more players). No more stagnant blocking animations, etc..
-Varied running animations and styles. (Different players need to feel different. Currently, a shifty, quick, RB doesn't look or feel much different than a big bruiser. Most of the difference now seems to come in the likelyhood that they pull off an animation.
-Line interaction and assignments. Blocking assignments need to be continuously worked on. And the way OL/DL interact needs to be seriously re-worked.
-WR screen blocking. No more run to a spot and pass block.
-WR/DB aggresiveness. Both need to play the ball in the air aggressively
-CPU QB decision making. Most bang for the buck when playing the CPU would come from spending serious time improving the CPU QB play.
-Special Teams Overhaul

Presentation and atmosphere - love to see two sets of commentators one for your bigger National coverage games and another set for regional. Having that in there and then removing it for non televised games would be nice. Then add in crowd noise more and PA announcers to which it helps with the non televised games.
Tommy, Chris, JB, Hey Matt and I have discussed some things on special teams that I'd really like to see given a thought. It is a pain to type out but generally blocking kicks can be implemented but not for user controlled players. Make it a certain percentage for teams on probability. Again I don't want some type of position for a player to make the play or user to jump the snap count but rather a predetermined calculation that figures into the probability of a block happening for each team. It is much easier like I said to talk to u guys about it and maybe matt can even jump in on that call or in an email to discuss it further.
Gameplay, I'd like to see there be more momentum factors in while using the strafe button. Currently you can move laterally and vertically without losing it when in real life such quick movements either way would be a little slower an more defined so to speak.

Also, just a suggestion but, have we ever considerred doing something other than a tournament for this? If we did some sort of poll (perhaps in addition to the tournament) where people ranked all of the possibilites 1-10 (or whatever) and points were assigned to calculate not only the overall winner but also order the rest of the list. I think that would offer a more complete list of our preferences as well as avoid the situation where 2 high priorities for someone go head to head in an early round. Thoughts?

Along with what kwizzy mentioned about and I know you guys know already about correctly lining up correctly add in the ability to flip your DE's based on the offensive formation.
I also want to see the matchup stick back. I really like that feature alot, and given how some like to get certain players in the open field to create offensively I'd like the ability to track said player defensively as well.
I'd like to see the formation subs that Madden has implemented to NCAA, makes rotating players so much easier to do on the fly.

I think that would offer a more complete list of our preferences as well as avoid the situation where 2 high priorities for someone go head to head in an early round. Thoughts? We've given that sort of thing a thought but
A) there's not an easy way to do it built into vbulletin so we'd either have to rely on an outside poll resource or do it manually
B) I personally think it wouldn't encourage as much participation... people are lazy. They want want to look at all items at once... much easier just to click on Option 1 or Option 2.
C) if we gave a list of items, people would rank their favorite choices at the top and then keep the other items in a similar order to what they were presented in (ties into the people are lazy).
All that said, the changes we're looking at on this year's tournament should help lessen some of those concerns.

not to be an ass but just fix the game you have...seriously!
make custom playbooks really work
fix online dynasty file issues
fix ball trajectory so LB's can jump up and grab everything over the middle
make smarter AI playcalling
improve option run blocking and handoffs
fix the sound levels and atmosphere
until they stop giving us games rushed to meet the yearly deadline full of freaking bugs worse than ANY game i play by far...im not even interested helping them with "new" ideas or "wish lists"... screw that...fix the game

Thoughts? In addition to gschwendt's previous response, the other consideration with a poll is a situation where people love/hate something. So you have 50% of the votes average 7 points, and 50% of the votes average a 3. That's the same as 100% averaging a 5. A tournament will generally avoid situations like that.
As for a list ...
Special teams overhaul
Coaching Carousel 2.0 (with coaches that have attributes that affect dynasty/gameplay)
Better defensive play overall
More realistic Pass Trajectory and defensive jumping
Improved offensive/defensive line interaction
I've got others, but they can wait until some of the more crucial items are taken care of.

We need a ST overhaul, but don't really need any new features. Streamline, build on, and fix the existing features and we'll be set, IMO.

Agreed. The addition of coaching carousel, custom playbooks, custom conferences, etc. were plenty of additions for now. Just fix what's currently broken, and flesh out the current features and make the new stuff like CC, custom conferences and bowls and whatnot even deeper and better. Focus on what's there now.

Gameplay
The trajectory of passes needs to be tweaked so that there is more nuance available between the polar opposities of the lob pass and the bullet pass.
"Leaping Linebackers" need to go away; only the most athletic players in real-life are able to make plays on passes the way that all linebackers seem to be able to do so in the game.
Better interactions between offensive and defensive linemen; need more "stalemate" animations where neither player "wins" on a given play.
Better interactions between receivers and defensive backs. Receivers need to be more proactive about coming back to the ball and trying to break up an interception attempt, for example. More accurate physical interactions are also needed so that penalties such as illegal contact and pass interference (on both sides of the ball) can occur with greater frequency.
Special teams need to be overhauled; while kickoff return touchdowns are possible, punt returns seem nearly impossible due to pursuit and blocking issues. Field goals are still too easy to make unless you turn to sliders.
This will be a divisive suggestion, but adding in random variables like botched snaps and handoffs would help the game feel more organic and make every play hold more "gravity." If you knew there was a chance of the snap on your game-winning field goal attempt going horribly wrong, you'd be far more invested in that play than you are at present.
CPU running out of the shotgun needs improvement so that the game can be a better representation of the wide-open ground game in real-life college football.
Online Dynasty
Ability for all players in an Online Dynasty to submit their "Play of the Week" highlight and then have members of the OD vote--using an in-game prompt--to create a custom "Top 10 Plays of the Week" video clip which can be shared to the EA SPORTS media site.
Ability to propose a time for a user-versus-user game to be played within the game interface; that way, all members of the OD know when the game is scheduled for and can see if one user or another is being problematic about getting the game completed.
Ability for the commissioner of the OD to simulate a specific game result, whether the game is user-versus-user, user-versus-CPU, or CPU-versus-CPU.
Add in-game championship banners/other signage to reflect which teams have won conference or BCS championships in an OD. A visit to play against the team who won the last season's consensus national championship would seem all the more important if some token of their victory was present when you played them.
Rivalry Builder: This ties into a suggestion I have for game features in general, but Rivalry Builder in ODs would allow users to designate rivalry games even if custom conferences are in play and the teams that two users are playing with are not rivals in real life. A name for the rivalry could be set, and generic trophy models could be perused to stipulate what trophy that rivalry is played for.
Presentation & In-Game Atmosphere
Correct the placements of any band sections which were incorrectly placed in NCAA Football 12 for authenticity.
Update all stadium models and field art to be as current as possible by the time development on the game needs to finish in order to "go gold."
Like in Madden NFL 12, have statistical overlays "pop out" of the scorebug after every play to reflect statistical tracking for either an offensive or a defensive player.
When on a drive with the goal of getting into field goal range, a line indicating where the team needs to go to get into their kicker's "field goal range" should appear along with the 1st Down line to further emulate broadcast presentation.
Camera angles for replays and cut-scenes should be more authentic to actual broadcasts as they are in Madden NFL 12.
The menu "avatars" for players in the game need to be overhauled and updated. The cartoonish, overweight faces looking off to the right have got to go.
Rivalry trophies should be present during in-game cutscenes to help contribute to the presentation of a game between two teams locked in a heated rivalry.
"Home Field Advantage" needs to either go away or be available for both teams to use when the game is contested at a neutral site or the game is a Bowl Game. The distribution of fan colors in the crowd similarly need to reflect that neither team is the "home" team in these situations.
More fan traditions specific to teams should be incorporated into in-game cut-scenes to help differentiate the 120+ schools (looking ahead to new teams joining the FBS) on the game disc from one another; "Jump Around" at Wisconsin, for example.
Features/Other (including Online Play)
Rivalry Builder: As mentioned above, users would be able to designate rivalries, names for those rivalries, and choose a trophy model to represent the "goal" of that rivalry game. Like Custom Conferences, this would allow the user to "future-proof" their NCAA Football experience by removing rivalries which end in real-life and adding rivalries which begin after the game disc is finalized.
Add Online Communities like what is in Madden NFL 12 so that online gamers can tailor their matchmaking experience in the same manner and avoid having to play against random opponents who may not share the same thoughts about fairplay.
Taking a page out of the NHL development team's playbook, a "uniform unlock code" should be used to allow the team to develop uniforms that schools may not want in the game from day one and control when they are made available in the game so that fans of a team don't have to use outdated uniforms all year long in the game (see Oklahoma State and Maryland in NCAA Football 12 compared to real life). This could also potentially be used to "pre-load" Pro Combat uniforms each season.
If tuner updates are going to be available and touted as a way to enhance the game experience post-release, more tuner updates should be utilized and clear communication of what has been updated in those tuners should be shared with the gaming community.
Add Hot and Cold streaks like what Madden NFL 12 has in Franchise mode to help better tie together player performances in Dynasty Mode.

gameplay:
----weight and momentum need to be included. o/d-line battles should not be a static shoving match....we see all the time that a certain d-lineman is able to collapse a pocket, or see a guard/tackle driving his man way upfield.
----fix pass trajectory and passing speeds. i cant tell a difference in how fast the passes are thrown if your qb has a 70 throw power or 95 throw power, so maybe spread out the thresholds for minimum and max animation speeds.
----madden's extra qb ratings
----more penalties (late hits, block in the back- which is different than clipping, helmet to helmet?, launching?, hit on defenseless player?)
----ability to choose where we send a guy in motion to
----
dynasty
----coaching carousel 2.0- give coaches a position familiarity or general philosophy, which would offer progression to the players based on the coaches' strengths. hiring a qb coach to be the o-coordinator would progress the qb's more than the other offensive positions. on the flip side, hiring a coordinator who has a general philosophy would offer progression across the board, at maybe half the rate as what a position specific coach would.
----recruiting tweak- i'd like to see the higher rated recruits start to adjust their boards a little, especially if they arent being offered schollies or being recruited from their top schools. additionally, i'd like to see the smaller schools go after these top recruits if the big schools dont target them right away.
-----decommitments
-----a lot of other ideas from the recruiting in ncaa13 (http://www.thegamingtailgate.com/forums/showthread.php?3472-Recruiting-in-NCAA-13-What-would-you-like-to-see)thread
general
----an all out play/formation/package creator or editor.
----ability to copy and use an existing team entrance for teambuilder teams or dynasty teams, for those who dont have a specific one.
----crowd noise having a larger effect. HFA doesnt have that much of an effect (only when receiving icons pop us as a "?"). maybe, if i have a qb and wr with 40 awareness, and i go on the road to a packed house at :USC:, for instance, as :Hawaii:, the attempted hot routes i make wont be picked up by the receiver. thus, when i go to make the throw, the qb throws the route he called for, but the receiver ran another route.
commentary
----some kind of dynamic/interactive commentary. i want to hear the announcers talking about what i have done well in the previous weeks, what my opponent has done well. i also want to hear them talk about what's going on in the game on the fly. it'd be nice to hear about how i missed a wide open receiver during the replays or how my rb missed an opportunity to cut it back and instead ran into the defense.

Gameplay:- Foot planting; there should be no gliding of the feet; this will allow ball cariers to cut instead of gliding around the field. This will give all players a sense of weight and momentum that is desperately needed. Players feel like they are floating around and there is very little momentum unless you make 180 degree turn; and that still looks terrible when it does actually happen.
- Start implementing some sort of physics; whether it is a completely new system or an addition to the new tackling system they just implemented, I don't care. Something to allow more than two tacklers to interact with a ball carrier is needed.
- Improve wr/db interactions. Add HUNDREDS of new catch animations that allow for jump balls to be more prevalent, right now they look terrible.
- Take away some velocity on passes; as of now the ball is like a laser. Go back to the last gen passing system; the ball had a sense of weight, the throwing animation was much better and the ball had a very realistic velocity.- Improve the feeling of a quick player and a fast player. You should be able to see quick running backs burst through holes and see that immediate acceleration that they have.
RTG:
- Take notes from NBA 2k's my player mode. Make it harder to improve your player. It is not fun when you are 95 overall at the end of your freshmen year.
- Allow for the player to return punts and kicks or even have a position such as return specialist. Or allow for the user to be creative. Maybe if you create a corner and he is very athletic with great ball skills your coach decides to put you in some slot reciever packages.
- Allow players to choose certain styles and animations. For example, running style, throwing animation, juke animation, spin animation, catching style, power and finesse move animations.

Yes, yes, yes. Playing My Player mode in NBA 2K12 right now, I created a PG who started his NBA career with a 60 OVR rating and was the 12th guy on the team/bench, getting only a couple minutes a game. While I've slowly worked my way up the bench and am getting a lot more minutes now after 7 or 8 games into my rookie season, my player is still only a 62 OVR, and probably won't even be seeing the 70s until at least his second NBA season.

I know it is not likely, but something like DPP from Madden. I just want the players to feel different from each other. I want stars to stand out on both sides of the ball. I want a power runner to be different from a scat back. To me, get something close to this in, and fix the things that are broken in the new features and it will be about as good as we will get this generation.

Gameplay
1) Improved WR/DB interaction when going for the ball.
2) Improved WR blocking on outside runs and screen passees.
3) Better run blocking out of the spread. Wider splits for the o-lineman might help this.
4) Improve special teams.
- I'm never worried now that a punt or kick is going to be blocked.
- I don't feel like a dangerous kick/punt returner is really the threat they should be, cpu or user controlled.
- Include new punt and kick formations that are prevelant all around the country.
Online Dynasty
1) Scouting and recruiting attributes for coaches.
- A high scouting grade would allow the coach to find 2* and 3* recruits that turn into stars.
- A high recruiting grade would increase the points that can be earned for each recruiting call.
2) Offense, defense, and leadership attributes for coaches.
- Offense/defense grade gives small boost or downgrade to players on that side of the ball
- Leadership grade lessens home field advantage when playing as the road team, small boost or downgrade to progression of all players.
3) In recruiting have topics that are "coaches pics" that can be whatever we choose, and "recruit pics" that he will have rated as above average or better. Get rid of the "slot machine" style in picking topics.
Presentation & In-Game Atmosphere
1) Increase home field advantage.
- Players with low awareness ratings don't always pick up audibles or hot routes, or maybe have small decrease in all other ratings.
Features/Other (including Online Play)
1) Custom playbook
- Hail mary and goalline should not be locked in a playbook. Special teams should be only locked formation.
- Customizable package subs and formation audibles.
- Allow us to customize the order of formations in the playbook.
2) Depth Charts
- Ability to set a 2- or 3-deep for each formation and package within that formation. Something like what Kwizzy posted in this thead http://www.thegamingtailgate.com/forums/showthread.php?3353-Formation-Sub-tips&highlight=formation+depth+chart
- Strongside/Weakside DE and OLB instead of left and right- Seperate receiver positions for the slot, X, Y, etc. instead of 1 WR position.

The NFL 2K5 challenge system. The way it is right now is that you can only challenge what is obvious. In NFL 2K5, when you want to challenge a play, it gave you a list of things you could challenge. The ones that you couldn't challenge would be faded out, the ones you could challenge could be chosen. I think even multiple at once can be challenged.

Audio : The game needs to be way more cognizant of the crowds & the locations. What I mean by that is this, during the OU/Texas game, the crowds need to be even in terms of noise. The OU side needs to be getting as loud as the Texas fans are. Same thing for other rivalries. Like Louisville/UK is only 70 miles apart, so of course the home crowd would be louder during a breakaway run, but if I score as the away team, it shouldn't be dead silent. Overall, crowd noise/atmosphere has to be better.

Man you guys have some great ideas that pretty much cover most of my thoughts. I do have a couple of specific thoughts though:
1. Special teams overhaul is definitely needed. Besides the issues that others have mentioned, there needs to be some kind of touch on punts. This year, if you don't kick out of bounds it is almost impossible to kill a punt inside the 10. I don't remember it being so difficult last year.
2. The momentum/weight issue. I can't tell you how tired I am of seeing a team's 3rd string o-lineman who is a running back who ways 200 lbs block my starting d-lineman just as well if not better than the 300 lb starter. That's just stupid!

I can't believe I'm sayng this, but bring back QB vision cone. If we have the vision cone then quarterbacks can look off recievers and maybe find a safety cheating in one direction then throw it to where he should have been. Also Weight and momentum need to be fixed

1. Please make the PLAYER MODELS smaller/more proportional to the field. There was a big discussion about this a couple months before 12 came out, and I think smaller players would result in more wide open feeling/realistic gameplay.Thoughts on that? btw, did any of the community guys talk about that to the dev team when they were there? i was originally concerned about strides being too long; for 12 they shortened them, but becuase models are too big, it looks like they are taking small steps.
2. A decent locomotion system is in place... decent, but ok. but there needs to be a system for juking/doing moves. look at nba 2k12. look at that manual. i want a training camp where i really have to learn the controls. i dont want to press left /right/up/down on right stick for my jukes( i mean as my only options). i should have one to one controls with modifiers, various movements on right stick, etc. Allow the gamer to have full control. This would allow the best gamers to differentiate themselves from the rest.
3. Way expanded player rank system. Simply put, teams are all really similar. Differentiate the players a lot. avg player make a 70.
This is very basic list, and just gets the gist of my ideas, but these are my three most wanted gameplay additions

I know it is not likely, but something like DPP from Madden. I just want the players to feel different from each other. I want stars to stand out on both sides of the ball. I want a power runner to be different from a scat back. To me, get something close to this in, and fix the things that are broken in the new features and it will be about as good as we will get this generation.
it needs to actually work-period...play action just means you get sacked and thats all its meant for five or six years

I'll tell you something else that is annoying, the computer calling timeouts (no matter what the situation) with 2:01 in the 2nd and 4th quarters, really weird glitch.

you know... I think we should get more insight...for instance, will some or all intros not be in game next year ? ..the one mistake they keep making with game play and presentation is getting rid of stuff people like instead of adding to it and being consistent..or adding too much..the Seminoles intro should never be gone under any circumstance

Gameplay
Ball carriers using their special moves and chaining special moves together.
Expand the ratings systems
Add way more tendencies
Different QB stances, ball carrying styles, running styles, QB throwing styles.
Better 1 on 1 ball carrier logic AI. When ball carriers get into 1 on 1 situations, they become brain dead and blindly try to run over people no matter their weight or ratings.
Fix special teams. Kick return and punt return. Also the likelihood of punt blocks and FG blocks. Bad snaps, bad holds.
Expand the sliders.
Fix the QB scramble logic. They need to scramble outside of the tackles and not just up the middle majority of the time. They also need to roll out more and spin away from pressure, not side step. Over all all ball carriers need 360 degrees of movement. In this series they run in a straight line way too much. They need to run an arc some times, change directions, etc. USE THE ENTIRE FIELD WHEN RUNNING.
I honestly would like to see online team play implemented into NCAA especially since it is already implemented in Madden and also if the Mascot Mode isn't gonna be revamped to be more over-the-top than just the side flip juke thing, then it should just be omitted cause no one really plays it.

gameplay -
the one thing i want in ncaa and madden more than anything is wr/db battles. sure the ol/dl interactions could use some work but they work and look fine 60-70 percent of the time.
wr/db interaction however, is incorrect on every single pass thrown. the wr is coded to make a play for the ball using a predetermined canimation. no matter where a defensive back is or where the ball is going (underthrown/overthrown/behind/ahead) the wr will make the same canimaion every single time. there is no code that tells wr's to not let a db pick off what should be a catch or anyway for a wr to make a play on the ball. db's however, will beat the wr to the ball every time and at least has some sort of "go for the ball" animation attached to it. wr's always sit back and start an animation that has them waiting on the ball to come to them.
in the last few years, we've had minor improvements to ol/dl interaction, rb awareness and other little gameplay aspects. we have never seen any improvement for IN AIR wr/db interaction/battles since the ncaa game appeared on ps1.
this is the one area that we could use a completely new system for. as i said earlier, every other new aspect/feature ea works on at least works correctly 50% of the time....wr/db interaction is incorrect 100% of the time.

I still say a "play now" for online dyansty, just for those times were you want to just dick around and play a quick game with your team, Or for the least part replay a bitter defeat for the sake of playing it.

Recruits do not commit until the off-season's final week: In real life if a team stops recruiting players in the middle of the season even if he has given his verbal to them, he will never sign with that team. They all want to feel important. So I suggest that in 13, players do not commit until at least week 1 of off-season recruiting. So if a team has a great season and plays in the title game, they should steal a recruit or three from another team in their conference if they go after them hard. However, players can give soft verbals during the regular season. This way, off-season recruiting feel likes signing day and week 1 represents early morning and week 3 early afternoon and week 5 the night. You have an idea that the soft-commit will more often than not sign with you but there are upsets that can happen and rivalries can become bigger over a top 5 prospect that switches on signing day and then goes on to win the Heisman.
Top 25 polls: Now this is a long shot but it is something in my mind that is necessary. For me, I know that I would use this fairly but some wouldn't. The pre-season number one shouldn't finish the regular season number 3 and miss the title game if they run the table with no major injuries while playing in the SEC. So, I propose that the human playing the dynasty (offline only) can form their own top 25 poll (AP only). Then the BCS formula would pick the average ranking between the coach poll and the AP poll. No more getting screwed out of a championship despite having won it the past 2 years.
Heisman Ceremony: Can we please a visual presentation like on the old-gen NCAA's.
Game of the Week: Let the user of the dynasty pick the game of the week. If a game is chosen as a game of the week, it is moved to primetime so it is played under the lights.
Game Start Time: Let the user pick the start time of all games for that week so that a battle between top teams goes on in the afternoon, or under the lights.

Ok I'll start this out with player details
1. Loose sleeves (quarterback sleeves) - I've been harping on this one for 3 years now. If EA Sports can make an animated hand towel, they can do loose sleeves.
2. More Helmet/Facemask Options - They took away the 2 and 3 bar single facemasks, not cool. Bring em' back. Also, there are alot of facemasks for the Revo Speed that are missing. Madden 12's Helmet/Facemask selection was perfect. Let's see more of that. Maybe even see the classic QB facemask Marino used to wear.
3. Secondary Team Colors for equipment - No explanation needed.
4. Team Uniform options - Alot of variations of uniforms and alternate uniforms I saw on the field thus far this year that were not in the game. EA Sports has an exclusive license with the NCAA, they get paid big bucks and should have someone doing the research on these things.
5.Facial Customization - A big one. 2K Sports and the guys who make MLB The Show have got this down to a science. We want to see this as well. Skin tones, not just Light, Medium, and Dark. Eye Color, Hair style/length and color, sliders for facial feature customization, Facial hair style/color...simple stuff. If 2K can do it, so can EA.
6. Eye Black/Eye Tape - No explantion needed.
7. How hard is it to pronouce some names? Is McLain really that hard a name to pronounce? Fix it.
Game Presentation
CBS coverage for SEC games etc...no need to elaborate but let's get a deal going where we have ABC, NBC, ESPN, and CBS working in tandem to put out an ultra-realistic game as far as presentation goes.
Dynasty Mode
EA did a fantastic job this year with dynasty as far as coaching contracts go and the ability to change conferences, bowl tie-ins, and edit players ratings. Some things should be added though.
1. Discipline System - They had it before and it was an excellent part of dynasty. Added to the realism. Let's see that again.
2.Medical Redshirt - Hey, stuff happens. Sometimes your Heisman candidate goes down in the first game. He should be awardeda medical redshirt if it's within the first three games if the injury is severe enough.
3. A Visual Heisman Ceremony
4. The Army and Under Armor All-American games
5. Spring game
Road To Glory Mode
Loved being able to play every game of your high school year, but here's some improvements.
1. Have coaches visit you and try to woo you to their school
2. Sometimes in the playoffs I played against teams who I beat in the regular season with a sub par record who's record said they were 10-0 etc in the playoffs. Fix that.
3. Maybe some commentary for the games?
Gameplay
1.Different QB throwing motions - I understand there are hundreds of quarterbacks in the NCAA, but maybe like 10 different throwing motions. Make the game personalized.
2. Let us do a celebratory dance towards the end zone or in the end zone and then let us get flagged for it. Our choice.
3. Different throw accuracy ratings like Madden (short, medium, deep, throw on run, play action)
4. Player traits like Madden did. Make it more realistic.
This is just a short list. Let me know what you think.
In game saves for features!
Sliders - more of them! Fumbles, injuries, fatigue, knockdown slider (was included up to and including NCAA 09 which could be used to tone down LB/DB swats), splitting pass coverage between zone and man, kick return blocking.
Speed threshold was a great addition but EA really needs to add a player weight/momentum slider as well. Make it a combination of agility/acceleration so we can tone down the players' abilities to cut on a dime and change direction far too easily. This is huge for me. The physics in the game is terrible imo and has been terrible since we've moved to next gen. In real football offensive players use the defenders weight against them all the time when they make cuts. You don't see that in this game.
Player ratings - QB release quickness and deep pass accuracy would be great!

AGree
The QB release could be fixed if they add QB Throwing Styles. Madden's QB ratings would be great for NCAA. Where QBs with high TAS and TAM would be perfect for Spread offenses
Knockdown Slider could tone down Super LB/DB. They should make a Touch Button. There needs to be more than 2 type of passes. Also they need to give users more control with passing. I want to be able to throw a back shoulder pass or throw it to a spot only my WR can catch.
A Player Weight/Momentum slider would really fix physics. I would also like them to slow down the default running speed, so it would make sprinting look and feel faster.
I would like branch out more animations. Even though they toned down being sucked into animation, we get stuck in animations.
New INTs animations would be great. Most of the INT animations are the same was WR animations.
My biggest gripe that needs to be changed is CPU AI. It seems like they know what you are calling at times. If it is not fixed, I might not buy. There are some plays that you cant run, you mightt get good yards time-to-time, but it is useless. I understand CPU showing heavy blitz on a Triple Option formation. But if am in a Pistol Spread set, they shouldint blitz heavy every time I call a Read Option. It seems like alot of times I have to audible out of a play I like because CPU is keying on play.
Also I would love for the CPU not to get on "Shark smelling blood mode" when User presses Turbo or gets near Line of scrimmage on a run. I hate seeing my handling the CPU DL/LB and as soon as a push tubo or get close enough, they shed it quickly. I dont mind when the stud do it or even the high Block shedders, but not every player.
One more thing would be adding a pass rush and run stopping ratings. You can never really tell who the pass rusher and run stuffers are. It would be great to set up rush stuffers for 1st and 2nd down and pass rushers for 3rd down

Some more game play features:
CPU QB don't ever do pump fakes.
Coach mode available online for quick play and online dynasties. That would be awesome to run an all coach mode dynasty online. Instead of battle of the stick skills, it would be the battle of play calling and actually knowing your team player personnel.

they actually kind of do have a player weight/momentum slider. that is the running back ability slider. seriously, turn it down, and running feels amazing. why ea doesnt make everyone run with weight idk. but yeah, you really feel the inertia and momentum... unfortunately, this slider only applies to the running back, so everyone else is superhuman.
main pt is that it is certainly possible!!!
also make sure sliders work during gameplay, not just practice. anyone notice how qb acc. works only in practice but during games, even denard robinson throws like andrew luck???

I think for teambuilder they need to give a major update like uniform styles and sponsors. Also the ability to change your players accessories and to have team colored items as well as to pick your teams rivals ,stadium, and please input it on the game.

Gameplay:
Fix the LB "whap down 10 yds down field" issue.
Fix the DB "short arming it when you take over" on a long bomb.
Make it possible to stop the Power-O play.
Make the "Play the Run" options more powerful - if I know it's going right, I should be able to stop it 9/10 times
Make it more possible to catch a pass over the middle
Fix the option. When playing vs option, in some situations, non-controlled DBs (or CPU) simply strafe & allow players to go right by, allowing for a big gain.
Fix the option. Make it easier to pitch the ball - this year the ball had to be pitched 5 steps before the hit. Either make it easier, or make pursuit on QB/pitchmanless effective - in most instances, one guy shouldn't be able to get to both on the same play - he has to choose.
Online Dynasty:
Recruiting - Add a promise for top recruits that you'll recruit / sign his lower-tier recruit buddy: think Manti Teo & Toma.
Recruiting - Add importance to finding out about the pitch. Maybe make it worth more if you sell the pitch in weeks down the road.
Keep ability to edit all players during pre-season.
Add ability to set time-limit for un-played user games
Add ability to sim any game at anytime
Bring back one-line editable text box (from NCAA 2009): we put our phone ##s on it & it sped up the process.
Bring back "Play dynasty offline."
Put in a Spring "A-Day" game so that you can get a feel for your new recruits. Put it in the "Preseason" week w/ redshirts, etc.
Combine some sections of off-season mode, like Players Leaving / Week One; Recruiting Results / Cut Players / Position Changes; etc.
Allow offseason mode to be moved ahead online
Fix the freeze glitches in Online Dynasty for human opponent games
Fix the dynasty corruption glitches in Online Dynasty - mine have corrupted 5 times this year.
Make "Sway Pitch" more important when recruiting.
Presentation & In-Game Atmosphere:
Similar to 2K Sports, add a half-time recap show, or atleast an after the game highlight recap.
Fix the AU fight song to play "War Eagle, fly down the field..." instead of the Clemson clone.
Add WKU's Big Red as a mascot
Allow new uniforms to be DLC (Michigan, ND, Maryland, UGA, etc.) - gotta be some kind of sponsorship deal here.
Add more team-specific entrances
Bring back Corso
Add a ESPN College Gameday pick em' pre-game show that can be viewed after the week advances (or at any time)
Features/Other (including Online Play)
Allow for Custom Playbooks to actually work / not glitch out / not corrupt
Allow for Custom Playbooks to be shared between consoles - similar to rosters
"Put your face in the game" for coaches or recruits
Create-a-Uniform similar to Team Builder (online), but just for actual schools
Choose btw/ BCS or End-of the-Year Playoff.

Gameplay:
• Take a page out of the madden audible system when in a formation you have four plays from that formation and you have the option also press a button for more plays like it is set up now. This will greatly help keep the offense/defense off balance.
• Fix the OL logic when pulling back the screen to see the lineman assignments the lineman or double teaming D-Lineman and letting Lbers run free to make tackles when they should be chipping and going to the next level to block the Lbers or going straight to the next level to block.
• If a QB drops back more than 15 yard the symbols drop but the QB accuracy should be downgraded until he scrambles back within that 15 yard area.
Online Dynasty:
• Move transfers to after cuts or have two transfer periods. Year after year recruits and current players are released that other schools can us rather its CPU/User teams. They are cut and disappear.
• Medical Redshirts
• Like the old madden upgrade your stadium changes uni’s.
• Make ATH position worth something they are worthless in 2012. Thought the ATH meant multi positions.

I'm an "Old School" NCAA footballer, (I just turned 31!). I've been playing this game since Bill Walsh College Football on Sega Genesis, as have a small handful of my friends, and the one thing we talk about constantly is that NCAA Football 2006 for original Xbox was widely recognized as the best version of this game ever.
Now, there were many things about that game that were flawed, like the magnet catches, and the piss-poor run blocking, but the depth of the game was amazing, and there were a ton of really great features that were in that game that were removed and never replaced since, such as:
1) All of the Division I-AA teams (the number of teams on this years game is like a 1/3 of what it was in 2006) Maybe this would make the game too big, I dont know, but I went to a Div I-AA school and havent been able to play with my team since, as I dont waste time trying to create them in teambuilder.
2) The academic and behavioral suspensions etc. Back in 2006, a guy could get kicked off the team for a low GPA, or not showing up for practice, etc. You guys at EA took all that depth out of the game, why? I loved the complexity of it. It would add to the coaching game.
3) The number of uniform features available. I loved taking the time to customize players uniforms, but back in 2006, there were far more options available than there are today, why is that? I liked restrictor plates for my linebackers, mirrored visors for my db's, high top cleats, half tees! Why did you guys remove these? I definitely dig the uniform variations and the combat uniforms, but lets bring back the old school uniforms from the 80's and 90's too.
4) The flexibility of the playbook was much better. As an example, back in 2006, I could set a Punt as an audible. That allowed me to pick a shotgun pass play on 4th down, and audbile to a punt to catch my opponent offguard. (Called a pooch kick, they do it all the time in real life) But you can't do that today, why not? Why remove great features from the game and add in dumb stuff like Mascot Matchup, I mean seriously, who plays mascot matcup!?!?
5) Remember the ESPN classic games??? You could relive some of the greatest moments in college football history and try to repeat them, win games that were historically lost, throw Doug Flutie's hail mary pass to win?! That was removed too, damn shame, because I loooooved that part of the game.
I do like many of the suggestions mentioned in this forum though. One guy mentioned a Rivalry Builder where users get to pick their rivals in Online Dynasty mode, that would be great. Also being able to designate neutral sites for user rivalry games would be an added bonus as well.
Also there are many things that happen in real life that almost never happen in the game, like botched snaps on punts or shotgun plays. And this is just me, but bring back Lee Corso. Sure some of the stuff he said was repetitive, but I liked having him around before games with the predictions, bring that back. Thanks

I would like them to add a Decision-Making rating. I know they currently use Awareness for passing, but I feel it could be better. The decision-making rating could determine whether the Qb makes the right pass. A QB with high DM will make smart throws and will not force passes versus a Qb with a low DM that will force passes and more likely to throw INTs. A QB with high THP and THA, but with low DM he will still force passes and throw INTs.

I think EA needs to do a better job with this in both football games. Decision making is far too similar regardless of ratings. Furthermore, I want to see the decision making include WHO you are throwing the ball to. The cpu QB is completely oblivious at to who its best receivers are in NCAA 12 (it's a little better in M12). They need to make an effort to get the playmakers the ball. Right now it's like playing a basketball game against the cpu Miami Heat and all of their starters take an equal number of shots. Ruins the personality and realism of the game. The better players need more touches.

I think that a good feature would be to have a feature so that you can assign a specific "type"of player to a certain position. Take WR's for example. If I want to have a few different "types" or "styles" of receiver ie... 6'5" - 230 lbish possession types, or 5'11" speedy guys, or just typical 6'3" 200lbish guys. Where in formation subs you can assign that WR spot with a "type" of WR. So that if the guy that starts at that position gets hurt you can have the next player in line that is suited for that style of play to come in next. I mean we have LT's and RT's, LG's and RG's, why not have slot guys, outside guys.
Same with CB's.
I also would REALY like to see this game move to an 85 man roster like REAL college football teams have. That way you can actually build some depth at specific positions.
Thanks guys for working so hard on this game that we all love to play. I am slightly jealous of your job.

I also think that it is crazy that a 165 lb CB can easily tackle my 260 lb tail back with a full head of steam. He does this all by him self. My tail back is always the one to go backwards and the CB is never hurt. How can this be?

I want to fear a good WR. If I face a team that has a WR top 10 in receptions, I expect them to throw him the ball alot.
remember them having a Importance ratings a couple years ago, but it was hidden. I think it was "suppose" to make a WR/TE either more focused on or not. I think it should be brought back and tuned. So a good slot guy or great WR/TE would have a high Importance rating and will get 10+ targets a game vs. a young TE/WR or inconsistent catcher would have a low targets.
This could be tied in with Decision-Making. So if if you have a QB with Low DM, he would force passes to the WR/TE with high IMP vs. a QB with high DM will pass to other targets.

I think an obvious addition should be a weekly college gameday segment. Have the crew travel to a city for the game of the week and have them show injuries, stats, highlights from some games, and then pick the winner. It basically should be the NCAA version of what NFL 2k5 had with the NFL/SportsCenter countdown thing with Berman. Little things like this go a long way.

Yea I doubt this will happen. Just Wishful thinking.
I think this is will be mainly focused on the Presentation. I am hoping for a big change in gamplay. For me biggest 3 biggest changes that could change gameplay completely is WR/DB and OL/Interaction, CPU/AI Logic, and More Animations. I dont have to speak on WR/DB and OL/DL Interaction, we all know it needs changes. CPU/AI logic needs HUGE changes. IN terms of CPU Ball Carrier logic, CB QB passing(like what I stated early in thread), CPU AI knowing what Users playcalls are, Super CB/DB. Some more animations would be great. More RB animations/Styles(trucks, elusive/jukes being more effective), More QB Throwing Styles, Better Trajectory/Arches on passes or make L2 the Touch pass button, Better DL Moves, Jump Ball.

This is so true but after not seeing much improvement in 5-6 years, what should we realistically expect next year? The cpu running backs are still clueless in the open field on how to do moves, the cpu QBs don't use their good receivers and the spread option is still run horribly. Those are huge things that remain poorly done and really hurt the realism and personality in the game.
Gotmadskillz has said it before - watch a cpu vs. cpu game. That will tell you where the game needs work. But Peter Moore and EA in general seem to be pushing the online world over everything else. How stupid the cpu AI has taken a back seat to online play.

Coaching Carousel 2.0 didn't make the cut for the features bracket? I thought everyone was asking for improvements to the CC.
In my opinion it was a nice start but they've got a long way to go in terms of adding depth. My idea of CC is College Hoops 2k8. In CH2k8 coaches have ratings in different areas that you can improve as you move up the ranks. Coaches should also affect player progression. Playbooks should be tied to coordinators and position coaches would be a nice touch too.

GAMEPLAY
- Fix super linebackers
- Better pass motion
- Fix worping of the defender through the reciever
- Fix the weather system because it rains too much in the season. There are no fog games.
PRESENTATION/IN-GAME ATMOSPHERE
- ESPN broadcasting camera over the football field.
- Student section
- Updated presentation by ESPN
FEATURES
- Updated uniforms and be sure to correct the color of alternated black jersey's
- More helmet/face masks selection. Like Xenith
- Make mid socks halfway to the knee like players wear today in real life. Mid socks in '12 is way to low
- Fix knee braces. They shouldn't darken the socks at all. Also add knee pads.
- Team colored ankle tape and make ankle tape a little taller to where the mid sock in '12 is like todays players.
- Make jerseys more authentic. Actually show the double stitch on the jerseys kinda like Stanford in '12. Jerseys should have a pattern on them not just holes...

Are there only going to be 2 Dynasty matchups?

Are there only going to be 2 Dynasty matchups?No... consider the two that are matched up now as sort of a play-in matchup. There are 18 total entries in the Dynasty tournament.

This Kotaku article pretty strongly suggests that Custom Conferences 2.0 (or 3.0) is a shoo-in:

CDJ, will there be a "champions bracket" to see which out of the four areas is most desired (eg dynasty versus presentation)?

Not a bracket, but we are planning something to establish the "best of the best" from all fields. We'll announce it after the Gameplay bracket wraps up at the end of the week.

Especially if it included the 2nd-place items from each Bracket, thus making it an 8?-item bracket. You could seed it via the % voted for that item in each respective final.
