Arkansas State wins in dramatic fashion against Louisiana Tech, narrowly winning 34-32. QB Ryan Aplin went down with a torn pectoral muscle just before halftime when the Red Wolves down 20-7. True Freshman QB Chad Jackson helped mount a comeback which eventually allowed Kicker Brian Davis to kick the game winning field goal as time ran out. Jackson had a admirable day completing 12/19 passes for 159 yards with 2 touchdowns in one half of play. HB Jacob Alexander relieved some of the burden from Jackson by carrying the ball 20 times for 112 yards; HB SirGregory Thornton added 47 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. Jackson's favorite target on the day, WR Taylor Stockemer, hauled in 9 balls for 108 yards.

After the game, Head Coach Hugh Freeze had this to say:
"I think the second half taught us two things. 1) We've got guys up & down our depth chart that are looking to perform and prove themselves; I think they did that today and 2) we've been too one-dimensional on offense; as we saw today, Ryan [Aplin] doesn't have to throw the ball 60 times a game in order for us to win. We've got to ensure that whether first team or second team offense is out there, we've got to have a more a balanced gameplan. We've got two weeks to prepare for Monroe so that should give us enough time to find that balance and also give us some time to let some of our banged up players recover."

With the win, Arkansas State advanced to 3-1 in non-conference play and start their conference slate in two weeks against Louisiana Monroe. QB Ryan Aplin is currently listed as day-to-day so it will be interesting to see if he'll be ready to go in two weeks.

FIU ROLLS! It was a tight game early on the teams each scored a TD in the first two quarters of the game. The difference at halftime was a missed extra point by FIU, with the score 14-13 Louisville. Jake Medlock threw a pick and fumbled in the redzone in the first half, he settled down and came out on fire the second half only having two incompletions. FIU scored 28 points in the second half while holding Louisville to three in the 3rd quarter. FIU finally got the running game off the ground as Darrian Mallary gains 112 yards on 26 carries (4.8 ypc). James Harden came in once the DLine was worn down from Mallary and was gashing them he had 10 carries for 86 yards and 1 TD.

Jake Medlock the Sophomore QB earns Player of the Game honors for the 3rd straight game. He went 17/23 for 325 yards 5 TDS and 1 INT(Hakeem Smith), blocking still has to get better as he was sacked 3 times.

Total Yards: Louisville - 294 FIU - 515

Offensive play caller Lefty Hooks on his O:

"We came out today and put up a chunk of yards on a good team from a BCS conference. We felt like we gave the game away to Georgia and we wanted to come out this week and make a statement, I think we did that. Everyone had us notched as being Louisvilles first win of the season, they're good but we don't feel sorry for them. Going 0-4 is going to be a tough thing for that team going forward, on the other hand this is a temendous shot to our program here at FIU. We are building each week and now we are about to enter Sun Belt play and go after a conference championship."

I will be playing tonight I think and it is a huge matchup against San Diego State. Sitting at 0-2 right now you could almost say I'm sitting in a must win situation.

He shouldn't have been flexing so hard.

I show Dawg & ryby remain. Dawg's game is played and messaged me to say he's ready, I just assume he just has recruiting time remaining. ryby has a game versus Tulane this week and it shows the game hasn't been played. Deadline is tomorrow at noon.

Hopefully he sticks with us, wasn't he the one saying he doesn't even feel like playing the game the way it is? Come on Ryby hang in there!

EDIT: That was more gigem :) my bad.

I'm hear, praying for the update/patch. I'd really like to play vs the CPU.

I have Madden but have no favorite team. I find myself just going onto the practice field and going through playbooks. In NCAA I have favorites teams and enjoy doing offline dynasties. Just annoys me with the CPU no-huddle issue. I REALLY hope it gets turned around if/when the update/patch comes out.

I haven't played many no huddle teams lately...also helps in my OD's I'm OC. My offline with Baylor hasn't been bad though.

Sorry, work, school, and coaching is killing my time still. I will try to keep up better. It also does not help that I really do not enjoy playing the game as much as I used to.

Is there a particular aspect that you enjoy more about Madden than NCAA? Obviously understand the frustration with this year's release but just wondering if it's something more than that or not.

It just plays smoother and more fluid to me. I also think DPP has added a much needed element to football games in general. It really is a shame considering I enjoy CFB much more than the NFL. It really does feel like I am actually playing with different players in Madden compared to NCAA.
