A clear message was sent to Robert Griffin III as he was benched in his final visit to Norman, OK. Bryce Perry started in his place, and the youngster did his best. The Sooners run D really clamped down on Jarred Salubi's rushing, while Perry struggled to pass early on. He completed 5 of 9 passes in Baylor's first four series. Unfortunately, 2 of those five were completed to Oklahoma defensers. Perry had two picks and two first downs before being yanked for the senior.

Down 27-0 early in the second quarter, RG3 had nothing to lose. He got a run game going, completed some short passes, and gained momentum as the Bears defense finally made a stop. Baylor had a 4th an 1 and tried to no huddle, but Oklahoma called a time out to thwart that chance. After getting the ball back, RG3 found Terrance Williams in the back of the endzone as the half expired.

Baylor played well and won the second half, 20-13 but they couldn't over come the huge deficit from the first half. Griffin finished 17-34 for 353, with 3 TDs and 1 INT. That pick was crucial as Baylor had a chance to cut the lead to one score. The Sooners kicked a field goal to twist the knife even further in my ribs. Practice time will again be split for the QBs, so who ever works harder will get the start next week vs. Iowa State.

With three games remaining, Coach Tark needs to win two to achieve one of his contract goals.
