First set of games are ready to go for Season 2.

Texas Tech takes care of NM St pretty handily, I thought the game played awesome with the new sliders although I only played defense of course. Games do go a lot faster only dealing with one side of the ball but I'm sure at some point this year the opposite side of the ball will cost us all a game or two.

Great first game as D coordinator at Virginia for Coach Davis. The Virginia offense got started off slow against Tulsa, but it didn't matter. Garbage yards were racked up late by Tulsa, but they only managed 1 score. The defense for the Cavs managed a score of their own, 5 turnovers, and 3 sacks.

On to week two!

Arkansas State 39 - Oregon 27

I will preface this by saying that there is no way that I should have won this game. It was, however, raining hard, and I don't know to what affect it had on Oregon. I can say truthfully say that either the new slider settings may have caused this game to be too easy, or maybe I just got really lucky. The only other thing I can think of is that due to just controlling the defense, maybe the AI reacts differently as opposed to being a HC and running both sides of the ball.

I feel a bit ashamed because I know that with Oregon being ranked Number 1, their team should have shreded me to pieces. According to the game, I sacked Oregon's QB 10 times. I also intercepted him twice, and my defense caused two safetys. I held Oregpn to 343 yards of offense, of which 171 yards were passing. The one thing I did notice is that I could not stop them when they went into hurry mode, which is how they scored most of their points.

Well with Oregon running that spread option attack and focusing on the run they are susceptible to being beat because of the lack of success of that type of offense with EA's next gen NCAA games.
I am surprised that your CPU offense was able to score that many points but Ark St is known for having a pretty good offense and that QB they have is very good so hey we'll just chalk this one up as "any given Saturday" :)

Not to mention, I just looked at Oregon's roster and their QB isn't the kind of QB they need to run that offense and his AWR isn't great either so really while I think the chances of that happening in real life is slim at best, we are playing a game and all we can do is work with what EA gives us and unfortunately for Oregon that means horrible AI and execution in the way that offense is supposed to be run.
So we'll keep an eye on results and adjust sliders as needed but we'll all get a few games in before we make changes.

Nailbiter, but UK pulled out the win.
