12: Season 1 Offseason

We are now in the Coaching Carousel stage of the offseason.

Crazemac is on the clock with a head coach offer from UAB. Craze, you can either hop or tell me your decision and I'll set it for you.


As far as the rest of the offseason, I'd like to be able to get to at least Recruiting Week 1 prior to Monday evening that way anyone with a new school is able to review their team before recruiting without slowing everyone else down. Also, it no longer has to be after 9pm so you guys tell me what time works best for you and we'll do it.

Just FYI guys, after looking at the Carousel for this season, I've decided to implement the following limitations: the only jobs you can take are from teams that are 80 OVR or below and also 3-star or worse.

After reviewing Dawg's posting about team ratings, I'll allow any 2-star team except Baylor and UCLA. Currently, the 3-star teams are too highly rated compared to the teams we started with. Obviously this will fluctuate from season to season depending on our teams. Any 1-star team is allowed.

As well, as a reminder, all teams will be moved into either the conferences we currently reside in so don't let conference prestige weigh into your judgement.

Just FYI, just saw that Miami, OH is now a 3-star program but still an 80 OVR. If you get offered a job from a 3-star school but they're 80 OVR or lower, you can accept that job.

Guys, as mentioned, I'm going to be out of pocket pretty much all day tomorrow so as you guys accept or decline offers, please be sure to post here and also be sure to say who is next on the clock and possibly their job offer. That will help this process along so that everyone knows what's going on.

Another one that popped up, you cannot accept the 2-star Cal position. Certainly any 2-star that is over 85OVR is a no... anything below 85 will depend on the school, their historical presence, and also their state (ie the California, Texas, & Florida schools). Since I'll be out, use your best judgement but any questions can be texted to me... most of (if not all) have my cell number.

HairyDawg is currently on the clock for the Miami, OH OC job. Once he decides on that, it looks like both psuexv & psusnoop will likely be offered the Cal DC job. Neither of you should accept that job (as mentioned they're in the same group as UCLA & Baylor) so be ready to decline it if it comes your way.

I would say this is one flaw of the coaching carousel, if we do well and are offered better jobs it seems like we should be able to take them. It seems like there's going to come a point where we are offered better jobs but can't take the next step and/or if some do that will leave others without that option.

I'm all for playing with lower ranked schools but if we are doing the coachin carousel it needs to be clearly stated that you can't advance to a better team. If once goes undefeated and is offered a better job it doesn't seem fair to make them stay put.

gschwendt I also sent a message on PSN. I cannot get into the OD. I can get into my other ODs. When I try and load this one up it tells me "transfer failed, OD is not availible at this time please try again later".

I was trying to log on to put mine on AUTOPILOT. I've been fighting a cold last night and today and wanted to put my team on autopilot so I can get some rest tonight. I didn't want to hold up the OD.

Please put my team on autopilot for the offseason. I will do the preseason when we get to that point.
