Holy Batmanning!

First it was planking and then owling had its day in the sun.
But now both bizarre on-line antics are about to be consigned to the great recycle bin in the sky as the new craze of Batmanning looks set to take over.
Students at Purdue university claim to have started the latest iteration, where people hang upside down by their feet from any surface that will hold them.

The group even made a video showing how to Batman in style.
The students are seen hanging from pipes, walls and even a statue, before the action cuts to a 'bloopers' section as they awkwardly dismount from their 'perches'.

Unlike planking - where the participant simply lies flat on a surface - Batmanning requires a whole new level of athleticism, and has led some to worry about the greater chance of injury.
