NCAA Football 12 Patch #2 Now Available

Played my first game post patch. Ran for over 300 yds with my rb and another 80 with my QB. It's only one game so I'm not freaking out but that seems out of whack. If it happens over the next 5 games I'll adjust sliders.

Have to admit though...I enjoyed it. I was getting frustrated by my crappy offense. :D

I am quoting you but not really commenting on your post (if that makes sense). I think you'll find on this site is most people speak their true feelings but the difference is most people 'choose' to like the game b/c that's the best option.

ultimately, this messed up fix makes the game a 2010 rendition all over again, IE just old an pas-say. The game had stuff i like/liked but they have to use the internet to prove they can change things after the game has been produced and all they do is destroy it ( strong words maybe but you get the point- I dont think thats a personal attack or can be thought of that way, I would hope) its a game, but its a game I paid good money for and I want to play as much as possible during actual football season online with other users, but all thats happened so far is another exploit was developed... i dont know crap about the internet or game design but this patch/thing had better be able to be deleted from online all together or a fix better happen in less than 3 weeks if its really so complex. All I can play is my one online teambuilder-multi users dynasty and even than, the games will feel chintzy because you are either avoiding doing something wrong or trying not be beat by the mistakes made by the patch...right now, i kind of have half the same feeling I did when my NCAA 11 was stuck in my YLOD'd PS3. I cant use it, ......this is kind of a big fall for such a -Huge)))- ad campaign. network promotion and sponsership. One thing I haven't tested yet but would like to know if it's still there after the patch...not a big deal, but prior to this latest patch if I played an Online Dynasty game where the Sliders Human and CPU had been altered then when I was finished with that OD game, if I exited out to the main screen, then went into my OFFLINE dynasty that had been set up with default 50 all the way down Sliders, it would reset them to the Online sliders.

It wasn't a big deal, but I noticed it was doing this prior to the patch. Almost like it was saving and over writing the default "50 sliders" and making the previously loaded OD sliders the new default sliders.

Anyone else see this?

I do hope they get something to fix this as soon as they can. I'm sure things take time, seems like someone in the past said little or big changes can make a lot of other changes, sometimes unwanted. So it may take a while but hopefully they can get it back to working.

I also think it would be cool if they documented on their show. That would alteast show me they do have some concern when it comes to their customers. I've yet to see or hear of a post from EA saying, they understand this patch didn't exactly "improve" the situation. If they fix it, then show a behind the scenes show on ESPNU about scrambling to get the game back under control and then successfullying doing so, that would be kinda cool.

Maybe that's asking for too much drama, but it would be nice to see.

They have messages on the radio where you live when the cable goes out? Hell, I work in radio and we have never had anything on air about the cable going out. You could walk up to your neighbor and say your cable has gone out and they wouldn't give a damn. Nobody here cares about someone's cable going out. Yes, it is. The unwanted formations eat up valuable plays/space that I'd otherwise be using, and the dead space makes it annoying to navigate my playbook.

I think if you choose a base playbook that has the a lot of the formations you want, you'll have much more success. Not saying that's how it should be, just saying that's how it is.

It is incredibly frustrating but for the time being our only options are to work with what we have or not work work with it at all.

The point is, I shouldn't have to constantly figure out workarounds for all of the different ways that EA breaks the game they brag about so much.

How about just not buying the game right away or renting it, and you'll find out about all of the issues with the game within a matter of days or a week, and you'll then be able to decide if you want to spend that $60 or not. No one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy the game on release day year after year. And if waiting a couple days or a week to buy a video game is too much or too hard for you do or achieve, you have much bigger issues, such as a lack of self-control, than wasting $60 on a video game.

Agreed about the scales of purchase, but the point remains the same, when you lock out a segment of any kind of market, you better be prepared to deliver the goods, or receive a ration of shit from your consumers. I won't ever call out you guys on what you do at the site, I enjoy visiting (obviously lurking with my post count), but EA deserves no leniency on their lack of quality assurance when it comes to their football titles. Unfortunately, that starts at the top and the most visible face, and the one who throws himself out there as the head of a great development team for NCAA Football 12. I would consider the development team at Tiburon average at best with the constant issues.

I'm going to disagree here. These problems are big problems but using a comparison of a truck that only turns left is silly. On NCAA it's not even close to being "unplayable" so using an example of a truck only turning left is :D:D:D.

$60 is a drop in the bucket of what most spend on entertainment.

I spent $55 today, and $120 on Thursday night in a bar. That's not out of line for most weeks. Hell, I lost $150 today betting on the NFL. Shit happens.

I understand that $60 is more to some than others, but it is up to each individual to decide what they can afford. If $60 is truely an investment for you, show more restraint before you buy. Do some homework first.

Trying to equate buying a game with buying a vehicle is completely off-base and ridiculous.

I buy games because I can afford to. If my budget were tighter, I'd be more selective.

That doesn't justify how horribly the release of NCAA 12 has gone, but in the end it's the buyer who pulled the trigger. Believe me, I'm as disappointed as anyone in the way NCAA 12 has turned out. This game had so much potential and entirely too much of it has fallen short. It is a shame, but it doesn't change my life at all.

I am on a 360 and it is happening when I try to back out of the PLAYERS LEAVING EARLY. I get a TRANSFER FAILED message and my only 2 choices are to RETRY NOW or EXIT OUT OF DYNASTY. I have attempted to retry over 300 times now and when I exit and come back into dynasty I am back in the same place and in an infinite loop! LOL

We had zero issues like this PRE-patch... its the patch that has screwed us. Normally I think spending a lot of time on a forum bitching about a game is a total waste of time... HOWEVER, when they break the game so that I can't freaking play it, it becomes a whole different deal! This is PATHETIC MAN, make the freaking game WORK is all I am asking at this point! Forget about the cannons or the focking mascot game, please spend some time MAKING THIS THING WORK!!!!

I am, I've been able to do this...another OD member has the OD saved on his HD. He loads it up and starts the od, then invites me and transfers commish duties to me.

The problem with this route is, you loose all the previous info. Coaching stats, other OD members, so everyone that joins up now is basically start from scratch, recruiting, wins vs losses, etc... annoying.

Man, I just want a freaking UPDATE on where they are in fixing the BROKEN part of the game so we can simply PLAY IT!!! LOL.... I honestly never thought the day would come that my #1 wish list item would be to fix the code/server/whatever so that I can simply PLAY THE GAME! Seriously, this is baffling to me and I do wish they would NOT have the sole rights to the NCAA stuff. Personally, the college atmosphere part of the game (which is what I like) is only appreciated if I can play in a dynasty. Now that dynasty is broken there is nothing left to do but bitch at the makers and owners of the license. This is truly ridiculous. While I am a firm believer that you can never please everyone and there will always be stuff to complain about that is subjective in a video game (like LBs jumping or ball trajectory) having a game that is 2 months old and has been patched TWICE now that doesn't even WORK is appalling. At the very least they SHOULD be giving daily updates on the situation.

In the analogy I used earlier, if I was to buy a new car and the car wasn't running quite right so I take it in to be fixed and after the "fix" it no longer will even start, I would DEMAND constant updates on the progress of fixing the car that RAN before they touched it. Come on EA, do something right here. How about a little customer support and PR?

Well at least you get to play the game... I am in season 5 of an OD and we were having a GREAT time. We only just both hit the NC game for the first time in year 4 and if/when injuries actually WORK, I believe it possible for one or both of us to miss future NC games. Game is FUN when/if we can actually get it to freaking WORK! LOL... pathetic.

That said though, Solidice (respected poster here & OS) said that when he asked about that in the past, he was told that it's an issue with the server no longer being able to find your OD in your locker and that the only way to fix it is to have one of your OD members download the OD and then re-load it with them as the commissioner, invite everyone back, then transfer the commissioner duties to you. last year when that happened to me(getting that message while just trying to access it), I was told it was because I no longer had the OD files in my EA locker(or where ever the OD info is kept) and thus will never be able to get back in. so I had to get one of the other OD members who could access the OD to save the file and re-up it with him as commish.

can't say if the same situation for NCAA 12 though. but a way around it for me last year was to always save a copy of the OD file to my HD when it prompt you to after advancing, never got that message again. I did get it a few times within the dynasty, but never when trying to load it.

Let me know if you need additional instructions on how to go about doing this.

We've tried that in my OD and it didn't work. We are basically stuck in bowl season. Now, since the patch, none of us can even get in to the OD. We are all getting an "Online Dynasty is unavailable" when we try to log in.

As for yours, I don't have any additional knowledge of that one. Can anyone else comment that they're getting that same error message?

I apologize, I just remembered that we are actually in week 3 of recruiting where we have gotten stuck. I was out of town this weekend and wasn't around for all of this going down. However, now that I'm back, I can't log-in either.

We originally weren't able to save any of our bowl results but that was before the patch. We just decided to push past that despite having to sim all of the games. We were in the process of doing offseason when the patch came out and now suddenly none of us can even get in to the game.

We're currently waiting to see if EA fixes the issue which I am assuming is server side but I am beginning to wonder if we shouldn't just start over. We were only at the end of season 1 so it wouldn't be to big of a loss.

-Fixed an issue with Custom Conferences where the conference schedule would not be generated properly if a TeamBuilder team was used in a conference with protected rivals.

This issue has not been fixed. I tested it out by importing my TeamBuilder Alabama squad into dynasty. In the first season, Florida had been removed from the schedule and replaced with Kentucky which is incorrect. All my OOC games were also scheduled in the frist 4 weeks of the season and all conference games were locked into place for 8 straight weeks leaving no chance to schedule an off week in the conference season. So I simmed to year two and both LSU and Auburn did not rotate correctly. I played LSU at home and Auburn on the road in year one, and in year two I once again was scheduled to play LSU at home and Auburn on the road. Also, Vanderbilt was scheduled after my game against Auburn. So the schedules do not generate correctly even after the patch.:fp: I also checked to see how the schedules would look if you turned off "protected rivalries", and in year one I was scheduled to play 9 conference games.:(

So I'm not sure what EA did to test this supposed "fix", but it didn't take long to find out it didn't work.

Sim clock is not fixed, playing as a DC and I watched my offense. They ran a play and when it left to the dim screen there was 4:24 on the clock and :32 on the play clock. Clicked watch play again and ad they are breaking the huddle the clocks are the same. Not accounting for time in the huddle

For 13, I'd like to see gameplay improvements (as usual), a Special Teams overhaul, and then have everything else work properly and efficiently.

Cleaning up the existing features is far more important than adding new ones, IMO.

I might be wrong but I think keyzer is getting the Transfer Failed error whenever he tries to load his OD... the above work-around should work. As for yours, I don't have any additional knowledge of that one. Can anyone else comment that they're getting that same error message?

All that said, you're the first I've heard about a Players Leaving Transfer Failed error... the three I had heard about before were the Bowl Games, Regular Season games at random, and the commissioner not able to load the OD.

The thing that concerns me the most about all of this is that we haven't heard from EA directly about these issues. None of us, game changers and community day guys should have to be guessing about how to fix these issues.

It's time to hear from EA, even if they don't know how they are going to fix them yet there needs to be some sort of communication to acknowledge the problem. I'll wait for steps to fix the issue in later blogs.

Yes... that is the one that the solution I posted from Solidice would actually "fix". You would need to have one of your OD members try to access the OD and then make sure they save the week's save file. Then, go into File Management, and Load the save file for your OD. That will then create a copy of your OD with that person as the commissioner. It will put you at the beginning of the week that they have a save file for. You would then want to be sure that everyone retire from the previous OD and/or you retire from it as the commissioner.

just please fix the game...I like both this and madden in ways but this game was so much better against randoms on line...there was time to throw, things you read made sense and happened as you thought they might... Madden is just a nano/speed cheese fest unless you play buddies online.. This is what I had to do pre-patch when I was stuck like yourself, totally retire from the dynasty, the other player should be able to then go into the file management and restart it using his file, and then transfer the commish duties back to yourself. I am 99% certain this will work, but just to be safe have him advance it before you get in. Downside is all your records will be reset, and your promises will be locked again, upside is after the season if you meet all the previous promises they will unlock all the others one again.

I can run still run the options, but on read options the QB use to go really slow if you keep the ball with him, I mean like Olineman type slow, and he wouldnt speed up until around 10 yards later if you made it that far.

I thought they changed?No. it certainly does fluctuate your coaching grade, etc. and as far as I understand, it will retain that whenever you rejoin as that coach. When you rejoin, it won't be the original coach (ex. Brady Hoke), it will be the coach you presumably created (Coach Soze) and when you select "use existing", you'll be selecting Coach Soze.

Otherwise, when you rejoin the OD, if you select to create a coach, it will overwrite Coach Soze.

If he advances before you come in you will lose that ability, try it both ways get him to invite you do your leaving early stage and then see if it will advance, if not then you might have to go the way of option number two.

Quick question, how many others in the OD are not able to convince players?

If it's several, then you might consider adding this step:

2b) if 2 fails, have someone save the OD weekly save file, everyone retire from the OD, then use the Load technique to recreate the OD which will put you back at the start of Players Leaving (everyone would have to do their convincing all over again).

Annoyances sometimes do occur from that method such as when you look at your list of ODs and it shows how many are remaining, that number would not be accurate for the recreated OD. I would probably consider adding that in after step 2 or step 4. My best bet though is that #3 will most certainly cure your particular Transfer Failed issue in this instance... you just have to lose out on convincing your players to return.

Yes they can. And to.take an honest look, a real honest look, you'd have to say there's no way....let me repeat that.... NO WAY that they will hype themselves to the community with any new features unless ALL of these issues from 12 are fixed.

We're talking about lying to us (not intentional im sure) by saying literal game killers have been fixed server side twice, and then again after a patch 2 months after release. Out of the box GAME KILLERS. Not like opinions, like nobody can record a FINISHED GAME! This is not a broken feature, it's a BROKEN GAME!

If you are correct and they "can't clean up old stuff without creating new issues", then get rid of whatever feature is screwing the system, then they need to figure out why and redo it from scratch.

For once I agree with Rhombic and IOU when they say ea needs to get with the program. I can't fathom how you miss this 4 times, when you keep telling your fan base its fixed. Since your too retarded or lazy to play out your own online league and ACTUALLY find the issue, get as many game changers as you can and have them form some ODs and test your patch before it goes final. It's shameful and embarrassing that EA is claiming Title Update 2 "fixed" custom playbooks.

Sure, the zero play bug is gone, but that has come at the expense of vaporizing Wildcat and Wildcat Spread; locking four to six formations in each playbook; and still having 4 Verticals plays appear in your book even though they were never selected.

In the promotional hype (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eohr9FwTIq0) for NCAA 12, we were told we'd be able to build our own playbook (http://www.ea.com/ncaa-football/blog/custom-playbooks) by taking any formation in the game -- except Goal Line, Hail Mary and Special Teams -- and choosing up to 377 plays.

All options:
Transfer commissioner duties to him, retire, rejoin, and see if it will save your Players Leaving. Be sure you select use existing coach and select your old coach profile when you rejoin.
Advance to the next week, go through the week as normal, see if it gives you a Transfer Failed error.
Have the other member make sure to create a save file for the week, then both of you retire. He would then goto File Management and select Load on the save file for your OD. He would then re-invite you back to the OD, make sure you select use existing coach and select your old coach profile.
If all that fails, quit OD entirely and come back and tell us all how much i like NCAA and how many X-mas cards you are sending them this year
Each option is separate, but I would recommend trying them in the order I listed them.

I agree with this. I used to play football games year round and nothing else. I did get into baseball gaming with MVP 05 but football rules for 9 months. This generation of football has been a disapointment to me but that's also opened my eyes to other great games like Uncharted, inFamous, etc. I no longer rely on the annual sports games to fill my gaming fun even though I still look forward to the next year's football and baseball offerings. I'm still having fun with Madden 12 although I haven't played it as much as I would like. Family life also slows down my gaming habits.

I have already switched commissioners, this did not help.Ah, I totally misunderstood your problem. This was seen frequently in the Powerhouse OD last year. I'm not sure it has anything at all to do with who is the commissioner or the patch. The best I could figure, it had something to do with the combination of players that were wanting to leave your school. One of our members was eventually able to figure out that he could individually talk to a player (regardless of if he decided to stay or go), and then the file would successfully transfer. He did it one at a time, and was able to get all but one or two to successfully load back to the server.

Personally, I had one season where I had a player that wanted to transfer, he was my only Players Leaving, and I couldn't get the result to upload no matter how many times I tried it. Honestly, I eventually gave up.

LOL, its going to "take some time".... yeeeeeup, we should have another patch out at the END of football season and then when all of US have moved on so basically the patch will never be tested, they can safely CLAIM that it fixed everything up and they were diligent on their end.... Yeah, I know I am grumbling but this sux man. Unlike most of you this is the ONLY game I get and I play it with my buddy from across the country DURING football season.

Ah, I totally misunderstood your problem. This was seen frequently in the Powerhouse OD last year. I'm not sure it has anything at all to do with who is the commissioner or the patch. The best I could figure, it had something to do with the combination of players that were wanting to leave your school. One of our members was eventually able to figure out that he could individually talk to a player (regardless of if he decided to stay or go), and then the file would successfully transfer. He did it one at a time, and was able to get all but one or two to successfully load back to the server.

Personally, I had one season where I had a player that wanted to transfer, he was my only Players Leaving, and I couldn't get the result to upload no matter how many times I tried it. Honestly, I eventually gave up.

I can actually imagine that happening a little more if I only paid the cable company once, ever, and not monthly ;)

You know what, I did go into the players list and back out WITHOUT keeping anyone and it worked fine but I never tested it player by player. I will skip player #1 today and see if it saves.

Question, don't you have to do all your saving at once? Meaning, if I go into that screen and only save one guy and back out will it let me go back into the players leaving list again and try to save someone else? I am definitely going to try this today at lunch and report back. I can't remember who the TOP guy is on my list but at least I know its not BOTH running backs! LOL That would be awesome if it was only 1 guy who was messing things up.

Just for conversation my early leavers look something like this: (I know this by the number of times I have attempted to get past this point)

Another thing, I was SHOCKED to see that my QB in fact didn't try to leave as well as my JR(RS) DE Beyer who was part of the original roster set who owns all the sack records at Michigan now. The guy is FASTER then almost every HB in the recruiting classes!!! He has like 93 SPEED with 99 ACC and high AGILITY!!! Anyone else here use Michigan and find this guy to be a total FREAK? His name is Beyer and his number is #92 on the original roster set. Dude turns into the best DE in the history of college football. I was SURE he would leave early but he wants to stay and set the records out where no player can ever come close to touching them!

While my class totally pails in comparison to my buddy in my OD, I finally landed the HB of my dreams who I think will go on to own every record at my school if he stays healthy. What makes him more remarkable about landing him, he did NOT have me in his top 10 to start the year and he is NOT in a pipeline state. Luckily for me, no one felt interested to recruit the #4 HB in the country early who as the measurables to be unbelievable! If I can not get my HBs to stay and not go pro he will play next year. If they can stay he will likely redshirt pending on how good is ratings are.

Dunno, I am at work but probably NOT amazingly high as at times he does get shaken off by the QB. Dude FLIES to the ball though. My favorite thing to do with him is call a man blitz then I spread the D-line. I then walk my LB over to across the OT which occupies the OT and might give my DE (Beyer) a free shot to run back there. He often still likes to run into the OT and then go but when he goes he scooots!

Too many people would take it offline and then sim ahead forward to see how recruits panned out, see what recruits interests were, etc. so it created a very unfair advantage for anyone who did that. I took it offline on occasion as well so that I could practice or replay a game or something like that... wish we could get it back but obviously significant changes would have to be made to limit what you can do with it.

Man I hope we can salvage this dynasty because my buddy and I are REALLY into it this year on account that we both have lost more games then any year in the past. We are entering year 5 which is about my favorite time in the dynasty because ALL MY recruits are the stars and I love that. You grow "attached" to some of your guys who STEP up in the big games and win for you when you thought it was over. I still remember my CB Quintin getting a pick when Alabama had the game SEALED up against me (same game that they knocked Denard out for the season!) and I came back and won with seconds remaining! Herbstreit really let THEM have it for throwing the ball in that situation to begin with and putting the game in jeopardy!

Other guys this year that I have grown "attached to" Jason White (my STUD 6'4" QB with wheels and wears the #1 jersey!), HB Allen Morris who won the heisman last year and was just a beast (went head to head with my buddy for him), LB Kenny Williams who stepped up as a true frosh and really helped to turn around a defense that had lost 4 out of its last 5 games (having 99 ACC helps!), DE Brennan Beyer who is electrifying at getting after the QB or even running down HBs from behind with his 91 Speed, 92 ACC, WR Paul King out of PA who I went head to head with my buddy for who has started every game on campus, 6'-4" FS Albert Hughes who is a physical specimen that I STOLE from USC and Alabama last year (he is yet to play but I never thought I would get this kid and I did and HE WILL BE A BEAST!).

And of course my guy this year's running back that I will let all of you see for yourself!

Well it worked for me in SBCOL when Star Jackson came over to Troy for a season. I ended up beating Tommy for once, and winning the SBC. I think I went 10-2 that season.

Yeah, he will get the ball basically EVERY PLAY that he is DARK GREEN in color and there are less then 8 in the box. Dude has an outside shot of being near 99's across the board! LOL... that B+ in SPIN rating is pretty nice as well and comes in handy in making that 1 guy who I can't beat to the corner miss. Fitz put up 2,700 rushing yards for me in his last year at Michigan, I have to believe that Mr. Nash will be able to SHATTER that as long as my O-line remains good.

Attempted to keep players from LEAVING EARLY one by one to see if that was the source of the TRANSFER FAILURE but it didn't help. If ANYONE stayed I got the error. I will attempt the quit dynasty rejoin stuff tomorrow night when my buddy gets back home and can help through this crap. He has short patience for this type of stuff so we will see how long he is even game for doing this. He gets really bitter at EA when this topic even comes up. Remember he was the guy who did NOT want the patch to even come out because we were having fun playing the game and he had a sense that the patch would break it.

That is a solid 4-star HB, I would recruit him even at my 6-star Michigan team. What is his AGI? I think that is an important number for backs as it enables you to break more long runs. My running style this year is to typically run between the tackles and then cut back in the face of a MLB or safety to set up that last block. If both the ACC and AGI is high, it is the difference from being caught from behind and breaking the BIG run.

I put Nash on my board simply because he looked AMAZING however I was NOT in his top 10... after week 1 no one had offered him so I went balls to the wall to land him moving him to #1 and maxing on him every week. Other then year 1 landing Jason White my QB, he is by far my biggest get.

Stud mobile QBs are sooooo freaking rare in this game its nuts. Check out the STUD QB in the past class that my buddy and I went head to head for but he got him. I have never seen anything like this guy! He is truly AMAZING!

yeah, we all agree this is something that needs to be addressed. its stupid how there are so many guys who are not being recruited. if by week 4 or 5 a guy has no offers and his interest meters are still super low (like they haven't moved) he is basically a FREE GET which makes zero sense. In the meantime there are teams offering and recruiting much LOWER rated talent. I have no idea what EA thinks it is emulating by doing this but its a big BUST IMO. I can pretty much land 1 5-star WR EVERY SINGLE YEAR without even recruiting one until week 5ish because there are so many of them that are ignored by all 118 CPU teams!

I have not seen this explained directly from them before. I believe that is something that can be done through tuning thankfully. I'll see if it is something they can do here.

I never noticed it in any of my :1star: OD's because I just didn't even think of going after any :5star: recruits....I rarely even try to go after :4star: recruits either.

Well my OD only has 2 HUMANS remember so if you play in an OD with like 12 you will likely NEVER see this. It seems very prevalent at WR and ATH positions this year.

Keyser, a new theory/test for you. CLW ran into the same issue in the TGT PS3 OD and according to him, after he set himself to Ready to Advance, he was then able to go in and talk his players into staying. We haven't advanced yet so it's not 100% certain that it worked but currently at least sounds like it's a possibility.

To do that though, you'd obviously have to transfer the commissioner duties to your buddy, then set yourself to ready since if you're the commissioner, setting yourself ready advances the week.

Just a thought and something to try.

No, you definitely don't need to do all players at once. I've done a player or two, backed out, completely left and turned off the game, then went back in later on and finished up. It's the same, conceptually at least, as being able to do only part of your recruiting at a time. I'm not sure how it works, technically, but the only thing I think you have to do "all at once" is play your game :)

While that was one of my regular strategies in NCAA 09 and NCAA 10, I found it much less effective in NCAA 11. Very few guys that weren't at least on the CPU's boards and being tracked. Most of the time if I started paying attention to what looked like an "easy get", he would get a CPU scholarship offer the next week. The CPU does keep some schollies in reserve, and I think that's part of the reason.

Yes... that is the one that the solution I posted from Solidice would actually "fix". You would need to have one of your OD members try to access the OD and then make sure they save the week's save file. Then, go into File Management, and Load the save file for your OD. That will then create a copy of your OD with that person as the commissioner. It will put you at the beginning of the week that they have a save file for. You would then want to be sure that everyone retire from the previous OD and/or you retire from it as the commissioner.

I don't know about on Xbox, but on PS3, you just go back into the store and you can view your purchases that will allow you to re-download them. Just redownload the "purchase" (the system considers it a purchase even though it's free), and you should be set.

thanks guys, i will try this in the morning and let you know if I have any success.... at this point there is a chance that my OD is ruined.... will find out tomorrow. either way this is a total disaster and pathetic that I have to go to all this just to try to play a simple football game. Thanks again for your help.I wouldn't think your OD is ruined... so long as your OD buddy is either the commissioner or still has the save file, you should be able to get back up & running.

I definitely get the frustration though... what makes it worse is that you would think these types of issues would have cropped up in NCAA09 (first OD year), not the fourth year of the feature.

So I did the procedure that bdoughty wrote out above and I recovered my code..... however, when I went back into the dynasty and added a single player to my list... TRANSFER FAILED once again, forces me OUT of dynasty!!!! WOW, so totally deleting everything about the game and clearing my cache didn't fix it. Got to hand it to EA, their bugs are totally FIX PROOF!!! LOL! Well there goes another 30 minutes of my life in total frustration.

Oh and get this..... so I went and created a NEW OD to test out... and guess what? I can NOT advance it either as I get the TRANSFER FAILED message on it right away! HAHAHAHAHAHA, so what in the HECK do you make of that? EA has managed to corrupt my player profile?!?!?! AMAZING work even for the boyz at EA, I take my hat off to you, you managed to HACK my gamertag or something! LOL

it is obviously not just you, I see many people having the same issue (both PS3 and 360) so it has to be something with the server. EA is working on it, or so they say.

We've noticed a few of you are running into issues with your dynasties failing at the "Downloading Custom Schedule." So just to add some more details about what has happened to me in the wild event that it can help EA fix things. We ended up advancing to post season recruiting week 1 in an effort to fix things. As you all know it did not and I still get the TRANSFER FAILED message. However the interesting thing is this. It knows and has recorded my 10 hours of recruiting as having happened and all the guys that I have recruited are no longer recruitable. However, the strange thing is that only the players who were already assigned to my recruiting board stay there. Everyone that I added in the post season recruiting (all the new guys) will NOT stick on my board but do show that I recruited. So whatever my error is does not allow for the player to get assigned to my recruiting list but DOES allow the EA server to know that I recruited him.... surely that has to tell someone something about what is going on.

Anyways, thank goodness for REAL FOOTBALL on TV today!

Another update: I am able to ADD guys and keep them on my recruiting board by COMPUTER but not by XBOX.... however, I think I am screwed now because since my XBOX couldn't hold them on the recruiting board when I talked to them and offered them scholarships they no longer think I offered them scholarships.... this totally sucks!

So I go back and turn on my XBOX and the guys I added via CPU are on my list when viewed threw XBOX. I attempted to add 1 more guy... TRANSFER FAILED again. So it appears that I am unable to change any dynasty stuff over the servers through my XBOX. However, it is interesting to note that I was able to call and TALK to the recruits through my XBOX and the server got that information, however the server could not remember that I added them to my list. I have to believe that this information is discrete enough that EA could figure out the lines of code that are failing.

Summary:
I COULD call and talk to recruits and the EA server looks like it remembers that I called the recruits
I could NOT add anyone to my board via XBOX
I COULD add players via PC to my board

The only thing we know is that anything is possible at this point. If it is all on EA's side I am pretty shocked they haven't fixed it yet. However, having said that, being that virtually NOTHING was fixed that they claimed the patch would fix I am starting to wonder how "in over their head" they really are.

Evidence the problem is console related: I am able to do things on my PC with the dynasty that I can't do on the console
Evidence that it is server related: I started a NEW OD and still could not advance without the FAILURE
Evidence that it is server related: I deleted EVERYTHING game related off my console AND cleared the CACHE and I still FAILED

Evidence that EA is "in over their head": Game has been out over 2 months and its broken with no definitive word from EA on even what the problem is

it's weird... whatever they've tweaked on the server has fixed one of the online dynasties i'm in...we just went thru bowls & offseason with no problems... last seaosn we had to sim bowls and all kinds of junk

You have to be the most patient man I know in regards to this game, I haven't even put mine in since I saw what the patch did to everything. Its actually on the trading block to support all my other games this holiday season.

Patient.... LOL, no. I just don't play anything else. If it wasn't for NCAA game series I would not own a console at all. Sure I have played some Halo and Gears of War but its the NCAA series that keeps my interest because of my love of college football coupled with the fact that I play with a good friend in real life which makes recruiting REALLY fun.

I did look into Gear 3, as I was a pretty big fan of HORDE mode in Gears 2 so maybe I will get that this winter.... Just wish EA would FIX this freaking thing so we can PLAY IT, unreal that I now feel like I am asking for the world here.

What is really sad about all this is the fact that I believe much of the problem stems from EA attempting to make the OD's "non cheatable" which is something I am completely not interested in since I play with another adult friend in real life and NEITHER of us would have any fun with the game if we knew we were cheating.... it would simply lose any luster that it has.

The only thing I've seen them say is that they are working hard to get the Patch #2 issues rectified.

Personal guess is that after announcing Patch #2 details so early only for 'addressed' and new issues to emerge, they may be waiting until they have definitive info on a fix and availability.

Save it as a new name... It's been awhile but I think that might have been required.

That's what I had to do back in January. Granted, I had to go through and rebuild both from scratch as some of the formations were missing from my offensive playbook, but you did have to rename it first when trying to initially resave it.

I could NOT use my playbook at at. I scrapped the whole thing and started over. It took forever but the second time around was a better reflection of how I play the game on 12.

No, I know my part of my pb disappeared against you, then when I played JBHuskers I think my special teams disappeared and I had to switch to ask coach or play type everytime. But is against jbcdusmag a user in the OD I run. It's frustrating because that play is a formation audible so if I come out in that formation I have to consciously remember not to audible to that play, thus negating half of my strategy. I like to call one play then audible to a formation audible thus letting me call two plays coming out of the huddle.
