View Full Version : 2011 Bowl Week Now Open - Deadline 9.2.11 7:00 a.m. CST
Noone made a Conference Championship in Year 1 so I used my mighty Commish powers to bump us up a week to the Bowl Season. Congrats to the three GBNers who made a bowl game in Year 1 with their clubs (no small feat)

The rest of us mere mortals await the 2012 season.
On a related note, I still want to knock out the off-season in one swoop. I know someone mentioned having guests in for the weekend. Everyone please let me know what your availability is Friday - Sunday. I think it would take a few hours so perhaps a late night session would allow the person with guests to still participate while their company is asleep?
I am available anytime Friday after 8 pm CST and anytime Saturday - Sunday.

I can't do it this weekend, is there any way it can wait until next week? I.e. Monday? My family is coming into town this week for my son's Baptism. I won't be able to much if anything on the PS3 while they are here.
OR if we get all our bowl games in today, I can to it tonight.
P.S. I like that my bowl game is a red X, is that a bad sign?

Good news the defense showed up to play again. Went to Hawai'i and got laid.

Beat Memphis 27-0!
Hopefully the bowl results will stand. In my other OD once the week was advanced everyone that WON, got a loss. Not sure why it did it, I've read about it in other ODs, hopefully this win will stand.
NMST ready to advance.

Eight simple steps to having fun at your bowl game.
1. Be ranked in the preseason top 10.
2. Play in a "tough" conference.
3. Tank your regular season.
4. Get invited to play a team who barely made their bowl game.
5. Knock their starting running back out on the first play of the game.
6. Take a 25 point lead into halftime.
7. Run up the score. Really returning a punt for a touchdown with 2 and half minutes left to make it 66-10? Passing with less than 2 for a 63 point lead?
8. Piss your opponent off with your stupid chant THE ENTIRE GAME!!!
One simple step to having fun after losing by 63 in your online dynasty bowl game.
1. Have sex with your wife.
Fuck you Florida State.
and apparently you too EA. Transfer completely failed when trying to upload game results to dynasty. "OD is currently unavailable." If the game doesn't post its results, just sim the game please. I couldn't stand to listen to that damned chant again.
Gige we could do it Monday night. I am available anytime that evening.
What is everyone else's availability Monday night?

How did you find my wife? Well, I guess that horror and the rude treatment in the bowl game serves you right. If you didn't use that "injured" quarterback to beat me this year, you wouldn't have qualified for the bowl game or be forced to have sex with my wife.
Karma...:rolleyes::P:popcorn:

If you can wait until Monday that would be awesome. My kids go to bed at 8pm central. I can get on around then, or since I don't need to sit and play a game, I can be up and out of the room. I can start it whenever works best.
Thank you sir.

I'm glad my shameless whoring is appreciated, thank you.
Good luck with your family this weekend. I hope you can enjoy the christening. I'll be available whenever it's needed to do this.

So here's my dilemma. I'm watching my boyz in their opening night debut vs. Wisconsin. Part of me really wants them to shock the nation and hang close and get a miracle to come up with the upset. But the other part of me is hoping the Rebs gets smoked as nearly as bad as I got smoked by the CPU. I mean, I don't want my incredible suckitude to be so readily apparent to my leaguemates.
However, its midway through the first quarter and the Badgers have a 13-0 lead. UNLV pulled a very familiar three and out in their first possession. What hasn't played true to the game, I saw UNLV run for a first down that wasn't called back for holding. Odd.

Gracias, hombre. If you tuned in late you missed it all. If this game was a horse, they would have shot it at halftime. It was funny to see some familiar scenes, though. My QB Herring held the ball too long deep in his own territory and got the sack and strip setting up another short field for UW. I saw some of those big hog mollies getting now just one, but two pancakes on the same play. This time, EA got the ratings right.
I don't feel so bad now. Not like lat year, when I took over Dat U of Miami. The might, mighty Redhawks were ranked 114 in the game and coming off a 2-10 season, they were expected to be doormats. Well they opened their season in the Swamp. In the game, I lost 51-21 but it was closer through three. IRL Miami hung within a score until the last few minutes when a terrible turnover sealed it for UF. Miami then went 10-2 and won a bowl game.
One thing that this game sorely needs is in season updates. Madden has the roster updates, why shouldn't NCAA? At least we can stop getting Maurice Clarett and Tyrell Pryor shoved down our throats when they are not in the game. Things change, EA. Wake up.
So... does anyone have a problem with Monday night 8 pm CST to knock out the off-season?

UNLV's O-line didn't look all the bad, they were able to get some long drives going. I'm sure Wis is just a better overall team but it wasn't that bad. Seems like Wis has more to worry about giving up the rushing yards they did.
I thought UNLV looked pretty good.
On the other hand, I have NO CLUE how UMASS is ranked, they looked horrible and Kentucky didn't look like a SEC powerhouse vs WMU.

You're not talking about the Minutemen of UMASS, are you? You must mean Miss St. UMASS might be ranked in 1-AA, though...
Funny about UNLV, your line mimicked my season. I could get a few drives going early, and look competitive, but then the roof would fall in and i'm down 21. Then the QB would be shaky like Michael J Fox, and receivers turned into Roberto Duran. The D would play the bizarro-prevent, which meant they prevented our offense from getting back on the field. UNLV ran more Pistol formations, but don't have it in their book. I may swap out a couple of formations for it, even though I'm not a fan of it. it will force me to learn a new scheme and be bad at more than one style.....

What if we start the first week of the off season tonight, but don't advance until Gig-em gets back? I'm just fiending for something to do, and I don't have Madden yet, so.....
