When someone says slump buster, I usually think of a shy BBW wearing a sports cap that's hanging with the pretty girls. Next time, they may have to put up a picture of the New Mexico Lobos. UNLV makes the trip to Las Cruces and waxes the wolves in a 44-14 romp that wasn't that close. It almost looks respectable because of another TAINT by Caleb Henning.
After getting hot on his first drive and leading the Rebels into the red zone, Henning forced a short out route into zone coverage. The CB, who was covering two receivers, leaped up and made an amazing one handed snatch, and then raced 94 yards for the TAINT. New Mexico scored first, but then graciously allowed UNLV to put 27 straight points before earning their own offensive touchdown.
Herring would rebound to finish with 404 passing yards and 3 TDs, while the defense was stout. They limited NM to 10 rushing yards, 300 yards of total offense and only 8 minutes of TOP. This was a great tune up as next week the Rebels travel to the rare air of Air Force for a matchup with the fast and angry Falcons.

Congrats on the WIN!
Well you know what they say about overlooking the lesser opponents. I had a dog fight on my hands. Down 28-7, I came back and won in OT 41-35.

The "Fine Folks" take the Commish out to the wood shed in a game that was pre-determined before the kickoff. Rice could do NOTHING right. Missed tackles, penalties and Northwestern starting on their side of the field with robo QB in speedy no huddle mode was simply too much to overcome for even the great Coach Wyatt. The loss crushes Rice's bowl dreams and the Owls must now start thinking about the 2012 season.
