I got to take a restart against SMU. Im actually going score for score with them, the score being 21-21 in the 2nd Q when i throw a ball to a WR that is doing an out route. As i throw the ball a DE picks the ball off with 1 hand and returns it for a TD. I completely lose it a throw my controller across the room. I'll take a simulated loss on this if need be. I have a low tolerance for bullshit and i can't promise this doesnt happen again.

Oh so close!
Though at first glance it wouldn't look like it, the Cowboys 31-14 loss to #10 Nebraska was much closer than anyone anticipated. Head coach Dave Christensen said, "The credit goes out to our defense for doing so well to hold them the way they did. We gave them some short field position near the end of the game with a few turnovers and against a team like this we can't do that."
There were more than a few times that the Cowboys looked poised for the upset. Taking advantage of a missed tackle they connected on an early 71 yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead. The defense held very well as the Cornhuskers managed only 10 points in the first half. Unfortunately, momentum shifted when junior quarterback Austyn Carta Samuels was injured scrambling on a third down play. "Our receivers were blanketed down field and he had the space to take it up," Offensive Coordinator Jeremy Bushard mentioned. "He knew he needed two more yards for the first and decided to go for the throat. Once the ball came out we knew he was hurt, unfortunately it was this bad." Coach Christensen confirmed the reports of a broken collarbone and declared Carta Samuels out for the remainder of the year.
Down 17-7 early in the fourth quarter backup QB Adam Pittser found receiver T.J. Smith for a 54 yard strike over the middle to bring the game to 17-14. A botched fake field goal left the Cowboys struggling for a comeback late 24-14 when the dream ended with an interception at their own 35 yard line.
The Cowboys have a bye next week before their final tune-up game at Utah State. Tickets are still available for their Mountain West opener against UNLV on October 15th.

San Jose St, about put it to me. I threw 5 INTS and had 1 fumble. I also had 5 holding penalties for 45 yards! Each time I ran it up the gut for 8-10 yards I would get a holding penalty on my C. I turned my blocking from balanced to conservative, then my QB was running for his life.
If it wasn't for the CPU defense I would have lost this one, they held the San Jose St offense to 3 points in the 1/2 half.
New Mexico St scrapes by San Jose St 27-23.
NMST ready to advance.

After losing the first two games of the season to Indiana and USF, Ball State bounces back with two wins against Buffalo and Army.. The offense is putting up points in the last two games, breaking the 40 point mark for the first time this season.
After juming out to a 24-0 lead against Army, the offense looked like a high school football team for 2 quarters. Commiting 455 holding penalties. Before finally closing out the win.
First year OC TJ Craig's comments following the win: "I guess we cant block anyone! That was a joke." He also went on to say, "I might end up holding an open try out for quarterback, remember how Texas Tech, did that a couple of years ago with thier kicker?... Somebody at this school has to be able to throw the ball, right?"

Tulane's undefeated season comes to a halt
Duke may have put up points but the Green Wave D feels robbed. Bad referees and a stagnant offense lose this one. 21-38
Junior Safety Shakiel Smith Tried to put the game in the defense's hand with : 22 tackles, 14 TFL , and 3 Sacks While fracturing the Starting Duke running back's foot ending his season.
It was not enough though as countless Facemasks and missed intentional groundings lead the duke attack.
The Tulane offense struggled to get a first down in the 1st three quarters just to show up late and put the game out of reach with a duck pick six.
play of the game: Duke 94 yard passing touchdown, 1 play after a so called "incomplete pass" in their own endzone, I guess they were following the Tom Brady "Tuck" rule.
3-17 on 3rd down and 80 yards in penalties will lose you a game.
Def Coord Hart Jorgensen is going to teach his defenders how to catch a football and not grab facemasks this next week. We are averaging about 10+ 2 handed "swats" that are really just dropped picks.
Many 3 star recruits coming in, hopefully next year we will have the speed to deal will the ACC.
ON a side note, i really hope EA fixes the intentiional grounding bug, I know even on offense after a 3 step drop your can throw it away with no penalty, of course the CPU will get away with it most of the time, but i have yet to have it called ever.

Las Vegas, NV
The Running Rebels finally break their cherry with a 69-20 waxing of the dreaded FCS West Bulldogs. Starting QB, Caleb Herring, was guiding the Rebels on a nice drive when he threw a dumb pick. Similar to the wave of dumb picks he's thrown in the past three game. OC Gerry Tarkanian was seen slamming his headset down in the coach's both, before screaming into the telephone. In the next next series, true freshman Nick Sperry took over and caught fire.
Sperry went 10-15 with 348 yards passing and 5 TDs. The UNLV raced out to a big lead, before the QBs were swapped again in the fourth quarter. Herring again made a stupid decision as his option pitch to the HB was intercepted and returned for a TD. That was too little too late for the road team. Sperry may start next week's MWC opener at Nevada, which may turn into a blood bath for the freshman. But for now, the young men from Sin City can enjoy their first win of the season.

VERY NICE write up! Congrats on the win!
Sounds like I have a competitor for most INTS thrown, I thought I was going to take the trophy to the house! LOL

If its a contest you want, it's a contest you'll get! I'm probably the oldest baller in this piece, with the stick skills to prove it. Last game was different because receivers that looked open stayed open. Still, for Herring to stink up the joint right off the bat, and then to have a pitch become a TAINT is unacceptable.
This is still Vegas. We have to consider whether Herring is shaving points to pay for his girl friend's breast enhancement. Dancers can't success without the proper aftermarket accessories.

The Rice Owls picked up their 1st win of the season with a shocker over Baylor on the road in Waco. Coach Wyatt's defense was swarming all over Robert Cheese Griffin forcing 10 sacks one of which knocked him out of the contest in the 4th quarter. That hit seemed to completely turn the tide as Rice went on a tear score 21 unanswered points in the 4th Quarter to take a 2 score lead. Baylor would add on a TD with a few seconds to spare but the onside kick failed and Rice held on for a 38-31 victory.

10 more sacks?!? Doesn't that give you about 30 in three games? Damn. I'm sure glad you're not on my schedule this year, and I'm sure to be ducking you next year.
